Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a waterproof mechanism for a surveying instrument including a battery pack.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a rechargeable secondary battery attached to a main body of a surveying instrument is a power source used in an electrical device such as a scale illumination LED or an electronic device such as an arithmetic unit or an angle reading encoder incorporated in a surveying instrument. As a Ni-Cd (nickel-cadmium) battery. In this case, since the Ni-Cd battery does not generate gas due to overcharging during charging, the battery pack was not provided with a gas vent hole.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for extending the usable time of surveying instruments outdoors. For this reason, as the secondary battery, a battery having a large capacity, for example, a Ni-H (nickel-hydrogen) battery is used. However, since the Ni—H battery generates gas during charging, there is a problem that the gas generated inside the battery pack accumulates.
[0004]
Therefore, the battery pack is provided with a vent hole to release the generated gas, but since the surveying instrument is used outdoors, rain and dust will enter the battery pack, causing poor continuity and damage to the battery pack. Cause problems.
Therefore, the present invention proposes a surveying instrument equipped with a battery pack that can release the generated gas during charging after being removed from the surveying instrument and that does not allow rain or dust to enter when it is attached to the surveying instrument body. It is an object.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, in the present invention, the battery pack (2) is disposed by interposing a seal member (8) between the side cover (3) of the surveying instrument body (1) and the battery pack (2). I tried to attach it.
The gas vent hole (9) is closed by the seal member (8), and the electrical contacts (6, 7) are sealed to prevent rain and dust from entering.
[0006]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
1 is a front view of an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of the main part of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a view taken along an arrow A in FIG. 2, and FIG. FIG.
In FIG. 1, a battery pack 2 incorporating a Ni—H battery 10 is detachably attached to a side cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1. That is, in FIG. 2, the battery pack 2 has a claw 4 a provided at the lower end of the battery cover 4 held by the groove 3 a of the side cover 3. The battery pack 2 is attached / detached by opening / closing a lock mechanism provided at the upper end of the battery pack 2. The detachable button 5 of the lock mechanism is always pushed upward by the spring 5a, the protrusion 5b of the detachable button is locked to the hook 3a provided at the upper end of the side cover 3, and the battery pack 2 is attached to the side cover of the surveying instrument main body 1. 3 is attached.
[0007]
At this time, the main body side electrical contact 6 protruding from the side cover 3 by the spring 6a and the battery side electrical contact 7 provided on the side surface 4b facing the side cover 3 of the battery pack 2 come into contact with each other. , 7 is used to supply power to the surveying instrument main body 1.
When the attach / detach button 5 is depressed, the protrusion 5b is released from the hook 3a, and the battery pack 2 can be removed from the side cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1. The removal of the battery pack 2 is performed in order to charge the Ni-H battery of the consumed battery pack 2 or to replace the spare battery pack with the battery pack 2 consumed during the surveying work.
[0008]
A side surface 4b of the battery pack 2 facing the side surface cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1 is provided with a vent hole 9 through which hydrogen gas generated during battery charging is released. In the present embodiment, in consideration of the arrangement of the Ni—H battery 10 and the amount of generated hydrogen gas, the battery is provided at 10 locations shown in FIG. 3.
Referring again to FIG. 2 showing a state in which the battery pack 2 is attached to the side cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1, the gas venting hole 9 is degassed between the battery pack 2 and the side cover 3. A rubber sponge 8A that sufficiently covers the hole 9 is provided, and a rubber sponge 8B that surrounds the electrical contacts 6 and 7 is provided at the position of the electrical contacts 6 and 7. The rubber sponges 8A and 8B are used for securing more crushing allowance, and for preventing deformation of the battery cover 2 and the side cover 3 which are plastic parts when the rubber sponges 8A and 8B are crushed, and the rubber sponges. In order to prevent infiltration of water from the outside through 8A and 8B, it is preferable to use an independently foamed rubber sponge with low hardness. The independent foamed rubber sponge has a great effect of preventing water from entering from the outside because the cavities inside the rubber sponge are independent of each other. The rubber sponges 8A and 8B are preferably provided on the side cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1. This is shown in FIG.
[0009]
With the above configuration, when the battery pack 2 is attached to the side cover 3 of the surveying instrument main body 1 and the surveying instrument 1 is used, the entry of water and dust from the gas vent holes 9 is prevented by the rubber sponges 8A and 8B.
In this embodiment, a rubber sponge is used as the seal member. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and an elastic body such as a rubber member having a thin flange can be used.
[0010]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the gas generated at the time of charging removed from the main body of the surveying instrument can be released, and when installed in the surveying instrument, the surveying instrument having a battery pack that does not allow rain or dust to enter. Can be.
