本発明はそのような場合に、加工を簡略化でき、多孔内管をなんらの制約も受けることなく任意の位置に配置することができるグラスウールマット等の巻物状吸音材からなる消音器の製造方法を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的を達成するために本発明による消音器の製造方法は、以下の構成としたものである。すなわち、グラスウールマット等を横断面真円形、あるいは楕円等扁平形に巻いて巻物状の吸音材を形成し、その巻物状吸音材をそれとほぼ同形同大の外筒内に充填した後、巻物状吸音材の偏心位置において、巻物状吸音材の層間に位置決め棒を挿入して偏心位置の層間を押し広げ、その位置決め棒の挿入方向と反対側から,多孔内管受け部を備えた多孔内管ガイド筒を挿入して位置決め棒を押し出し、次いで、多孔内管受け部に載せた多孔内管を多孔内管ガイド筒に沿って所定位置まで挿入した後、多孔内管ガイド筒のみを抜き出し、外筒の両端面を端板で閉じることを特徴とする。

以下本発明による消音器の製造方法の一例を図面により具体的に説明する。
