【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、内容物が充填された容器本体を蓋締装置に送給する前に、容器本体の口頸部に蓋体を仮装着するための蓋体仮装着装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
当業者には周知の如く、飲料等のための容器として、外周面には雄螺条の如き雄係合手段が形成されている容器本体と、天面壁とこの天面壁から垂下する筒状スカート壁とを有し且つスカート壁の内周面には上記雄係合手段と協働する雌螺条の如き雌係合手段が形成されている蓋体との組合せが広く実用に供されている。そして、かような容器を使用する飲料等の充填システムにおいては、容器本体が充填装置に送給され、この充填装置において容器本体内に内容物が充填される。次いで、内容物が充填された容器本体が蓋体仮装着装置に送給され、この蓋体仮装着装置において容器本体の口頸部に蓋体が仮装着される。しかる後に、蓋体が仮装着された容器本体が蓋締装置に送給され、この蓋締装置においては容器本体の口頸部の雄係合手段に蓋体の雌係合手段が充分強固に係合せしめられ、かくして容器本体の口頸部が密封される。

特公平3−14715号公報には、上述した充填システムに使用される蓋体仮装着装置が開示されている。かかる仮装着装置は、容器本体を直立状態に支持して実質上水平に延びる搬送径路を通して搬送せしめる搬送手段と、搬送径路中に配置されている蓋被嵌域に配設されている蓋体供給手段と、搬送径路中の、蓋体供給域よりも下流に配置されている仮締域に配設された仮締手段とを具備している。蓋体供給手段は、蓋体をその中心軸線が上方に向かって容器本体の搬送方向に見て下流側に傾斜した前傾状態で蓋体被嵌域に順次に供給する。容器本体が蓋体被嵌域を通る際に、蓋体被嵌域に前傾状態で位置せしめられている蓋体が容器本体の口頸部に被嵌される。仮締手段は、口頸部に蓋体が被嵌された容器本体が仮締域を通る際に、搬送径路の片側において蓋体のスカート壁に干渉し、これによって容器本体の口頸部に対して蓋体を閉方向に回転せしめる。蓋体のかような回転によって、容器本体の口頸部に蓋体が仮装着され、即ち口頸部の雄係合手段と蓋体の雌係合手段とが比較的緩く係合せしめられ、かくして蓋体が被嵌された容器本体が蓋締装置に送給される前に、容器本体の口頸部に被嵌された蓋体が振動等に起因して傾斜してしまうことが防止される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
而して、本発明者等の経験によれば、特に蓋体のスカート壁の内周面に形成されている雌係合手段の下端と蓋体の下端との間の中心軸線方向長さが比較的短く、従って容器本体の口頸部に蓋体が被嵌された時の、口頸部に対する蓋体の被嵌が比較的浅い場合に、上述したとおりの仮装着装置においては、次のとおりの問題が発生することが判明した。即ち、容器本体の口頸部に被嵌された蓋体が蓋体被嵌域における前傾状態から非傾斜状態即ち実質上水平な状態にせしめられることなく、従って容器本体の口頸部に被嵌された蓋体が口頸部に対して相当傾斜した状態のままで仮締域に送給されてしまう傾向がある。また、容器本体の口頸部に被嵌された蓋体が前傾状態から一旦実質上水平な状態にせしめられた場合にも、仮締域の上流端において仮締手段が蓋体の片側に干渉し始めた時に仮締手段から蓋体に加えられる力によって、蓋体が搬送方向に対して横方向に傾斜せしめられる傾向がある。傾斜した状態の蓋体が仮締域を通して搬送されと、仮締手段によって蓋体が適切に回転されず、仮締されないままで仮締域を通過してしまう、或いは蓋体が傾斜した状態のままで回転せしめられることによって雄係合手段と雌係合手段とが不適切に係合せしめられ、蓋体に所謂斜め被りが発生する。

本発明は上記事実に鑑みてなされたものであり、その主たる技術的課題は、蓋体被嵌域において容器本体の口頸部に前傾状態で被嵌された蓋体が仮締域に搬送されるまでの間に、蓋体を前傾状態から実質上水平な状態に確実に矯正することができる、新規且つ改良された蓋体仮装着装置を提供することである。

本発明の他の技術的課題は、仮締域の上流端において仮締手段が蓋体に干渉し始める際に、実質上水平な状態の蓋体が傾斜せしめられてしまうことが確実に防止され、そしてまた仮締域において蓋体の雌係合手段が充分円滑に容器本体の口頸部の雄係合手段に係合せしめられる、新規且つ改良された蓋体仮装着装置を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記主たる技術的課題を解決するために、本発明においては、少なくとも蓋体被嵌域の下流端から搬送径路に沿って下流に、容器本体の口頸部の外径よりは大きいが蓋体のスカート壁下端の外径よりは小さい間隔をおいて延在する一対の矯正レールを配設し、口頸部に蓋体が被嵌された容器本体が蓋体被嵌域から下流に搬送される際に、一対の矯正レールが蓋体のスカート壁下端に作用して蓋体を実質上水平な状態に矯正するようにせしめる。

即ち、本発明によれば、上記主たる技術的課題を解決する蓋体仮装着装置として、外周面に雄係合手段が形成されている口頸部を有する容器本体を直立状態に支持して、搬送径路を通して搬送する搬送手段と、該搬送径路中に配置されている蓋体被嵌域に配設された蓋体供給手段と、該搬送径路中の、該蓋体供給域よりも下流に配置されている仮締域に配設された仮締手段とを具備し、

上記主たる技術的課題の達成に加えて、上記他の技術的課題を達成するためには、該一対の矯正レールは少なくとも該仮締域の上流部まで延在せしめられており、該仮締域の上流部においては、該仮締手段の作用によって蓋体が回転せしめられても、該一対の矯正レールによって蓋体の下降が制限されることによって、蓋体の雌係合手段と容器本体の口頸部の雄係合手段との係合が開始されることはない、ように構成する。

【作用】
本発明の蓋体仮装着手段によれば、蓋体被嵌域において容器本体の口頸部に蓋体が前傾状態で被嵌された後に、容器本体及びその口頸部に被嵌された蓋体が仮締域まで搬送される際に、一対の矯正レールの作用によって蓋体が実質上水平な状態に強制的に矯正される。また、一対の矯正レールが少なくとも仮締域の上流部まで延在せしめられている態様においては、一対の矯正レールが蓋体のスカート壁下端に作用することによって蓋体は実質上水平な状態に確実に保持され、仮締域の上流端において仮締手段が蓋体に干渉し始めて仮締手段から蓋体に力が加えられても、蓋体が傾斜せしめられることはない。仮締域のおいて蓋体の回転が開始された後に蓋体の雌係合手段が容器本体の口頸部の雄係合手段に係合され始める故に、雌係合手段と雄係合手段との係合は充分円滑に進行せしめられる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明に従って構成された蓋体仮装着装置の好適実施形態を図示している添付図面を参照して、更に詳細に説明する。

図1及び図2を参照して説明すると、図示の蓋体仮装着装置は、全体を番号2で示す回転ターレット式の搬送手段を具備している。それ自体は周知の形態でよい搬送手段2は実質上鉛直に延びる静止支持軸4を含んでいる。この支持軸4には略円筒形状の回転部材5が回転自在に装着されており、回転部材5の上端部には懸垂ターレット6が固定されている。実質上水平に配置されている懸垂ターレット6の外周縁には、周方向に等間隔をおいて複数個の半円形状切欠8が形成されている。懸垂ターレット6の外側には、懸垂ターレット6の外周縁に沿って弧状に延びる静止案内レール10が配設されている。回転部材5は電動モータでよい回転駆動源(図示していない)に接続されており、回転部材5及びこれに固定されている懸垂ターレット6は図1に矢印12で示す方向に連続的に回転駆動せしめられる。

図1に番号14で示す搬入域において、それ自体は周知の形態でよい搬入手段(図示していない)によって、内容物が充填されている容器本体16が搬送手段2に搬入される。ポリエチレンテレフタレートの如き適宜の合成樹脂から形成することができる容器本体は、図2に明確に図示する如く、略円筒形状の口頸部18を有する。この口頸部18の外周面には、雄係合手段を構成する雄螺条20と、この雄螺条20の下方に位置する環状膨出部22が形成されている。環状膨出部22の外周面には、周方向に適宜の間隔をおいて係止ラチェット(図示していない)が形成されている。口頸部18の外周面には、更に、雄螺条20の下方に位置する懸垂フランジ24が形成されている。懸垂ターレット6に形成されている上記半円形状切欠8の内径は、容器本体16の口頸部18の外径と実質上同一であり、懸垂フランジ24の外径よりは小さい。搬送手段2に搬入される容器本体16は、図2を参照することによって容易に理解される如く、その懸垂フランジ24を懸垂ターレット6の上方に位置せしめてその口頸部18が懸垂ターレット6の切欠8内に部分的に収容され、かくして容器本体16が直立状態で懸垂ターレット6に懸垂せしめられる。搬送手段2に搬入せしめられた容器本体16は、懸垂ターレット6の回転に付随して、上記搬入域14から図1に番号26で示す移送域まで移動せしめられ、かくして容器本体16は懸垂ターレット6の外周縁部に沿って弧状に延在する搬送径路28を通して搬送される。上記静止案内レール10は、搬送径路28を通して搬送される際に容器本体16の口頸部18が懸垂ターレット6の切欠8から半径方向外方に離脱するのを防止する。後に更に詳述する如く、容器本体16が搬送径路28を通して搬送される間には、容器本体16の口頸部16に蓋体30が被嵌され、仮締される。上記移送域26においては、蓋体30が仮締された容器本体16が図1に簡略に図示する蓋締装置32に移送される。蓋締装置32自体は当業者には周知の形態のものでよく、その構成についての説明は本明細書においては省略する。

図1と共に図3及び図4を参照して説明すると、上記搬送径路28には蓋体被嵌域34と仮締域36とが配置されている。そして、蓋体被嵌域34には蓋体供給手段38が配設されており、蓋体被嵌域34よりも下流に配置されている仮締域36には仮締手段40が配設されている。

図示の蓋体供給手段34は先端に向かって下方に傾斜して延びる静止シュート42を含んでいる。かかる静止シュート42の先端部は、容器本体16の搬送径路28に沿ってその上方を延在している。静止シュート42の先端には一対の蓋体把持具44(図3)が配設されている。かかる一対の蓋体把持具44にはばね部材(図示していない)が付設されており、一対の蓋他把持具44は静止シュート42の先端において蓋体30を両側から弾性的に把持、従って開放自在に把持する。図4に明確に図示されている如く、静止シュート42の底壁46は先端までは延びておらず、一対の蓋体把持具44に保持されて静止シュート42の先端に位置せしめられる蓋体30の下方には存在しない。かような蓋体供給手段34自体の構成は当業者には周知のものである故に、その詳細な説明は本明細書においては省略する。図4を参照することによって理解される如く、蓋体30は円形天面壁48とこの天面壁48の周縁から垂下する円筒状スカート壁50とを有する。図示の蓋体30においては、スカート壁50の下部に下方に向かって外径が漸次増大する円錐台形状部が存在し、スカート壁50の下端部の外径は上部の外径よりも幾分大きくせしめられている。スカート壁50の上部外周面には、所謂ナール(滑り防止のための凹凸形状)52が形成されている。スカート壁50の上部内周面には、雌係合手段を構成する雌螺条54が形成されている。雌螺条54に代えて、スカート壁50の内周面に周方向に間隔をおいて複数個形成される所謂ラグから雌係合手段を構成することもできる。スカート壁50の下部内周面には、容器本体16の口頸部18における環状膨出部22に形成されているラチェット(図示していない)と協働するラチェット(図示していない)が周方向に間隔をおいて形成されている。かような蓋体30は、その中心軸線が上方に向かって前方(従って容器本体16の搬送方向に見て下流方向)に、20度程度でよい傾斜角度で傾斜した前傾状態で、静止シュート42を通して移送せしめられる。静止シュート42の先端においては、一対の蓋体把持具44が最先端の蓋体30を弾性的に把持する。静止シュート42の先端においては底壁46が存在しない故に、最先端の蓋体30の下端は底壁46によって覆われることなく露呈せしめられている。図4を参照することによって容易に理解される如く、直立状態の容器本体16が蓋体被嵌域34を通過する際には、容器本体16の口頸部18の上端部が、静止シュート42の先端に把持されている蓋体30のスカート壁50の前側部(図4において右側部)に後方即ち内側から干渉し、かくして一対の蓋体保持具44から蓋体30が開放されて容器本体16の口頸部18に被嵌される。最先端の蓋体30が一対の蓋体把持具44から開放されると、これに応じて静止シュート42内において蓋体30が前進せしめられ、次の蓋体30が一対の蓋体把持具44間に開放自在に把持される。

図3及び図4と共に図5を参照して説明を続けると、搬送径路28の上方を蓋体被嵌域34の下流部から仮締域36よりも幾分下流まで延びる静止支持天板56が配設されている。この支持天板56の下面には一対の側壁部材58が固定されている。一対の側壁部材58は所定間隔をおいて平行に搬送径路28に沿って弧状に延在せしめられており、支持天板56の下面から実質上鉛直に下方に延びる垂下部60とその下端から外側に突出する水平部62とを有する。一対の側壁部材58間の間隔は蓋体30の最大外径(即ちスカート壁50の下端外径)よりも幾分大きくせしめられている。上記支持天板56の、搬送方向下流部には、半径方向外側に張り出した張出部が一体に形成されており、かかる張出部の下面に上記仮締手段40が装着されている。この仮締手段40は保持枠体64とこの保持枠体64に保持された仮締部材66とを含んでる。保持枠体64は複数個の接続柱68を介して支持天板56の張出部の下面に接続された上壁板70とこの上面板70に接続された枠部材72とから構成されている。枠部材72は底壁部74、外側壁部76及び両端壁部78(図3)を有し、上面(この上面は上記上壁板70によって閉じられる)と共に半径方向内側面は開口せしめられている。図3に図示する如く、枠部材72の両端壁78の半径方向内側端には制限突条80が形成されている。仮締部材66は搬送径路28の片側(半径方向外側)を弧状に延びる主部82と被保持部84と両者間を接続している接続部86とを有する。被保持部84は上記枠部材72内に収容され、接続部86が枠部材72から半径方向内方に突出せしめられている。仮締部材66の被保持部84と枠部材72の外側壁部76との間には、仮締部材66を半径方向内方に、即ち搬送径路28に向けて弾性的に偏倚する複数個のコイルばね88が介在せしめられている。仮締部材66の非保持部84の搬送方向長さは枠部材72の上記制限突条80間の搬送方向長さより長く、仮締部材66の半径方向内方への移動は被保持部84の両端部が制限突条80に当接することによって制限されている。仮締部材66の主部82は、図4から理解される如く、一対の側壁部材58の一方(半径方向外側に位置する方)の垂下部60に形成されている開口90を貫通して半径方向内側に突出せしめられている。仮締部材66の主部82における半径方向内側面には、蓋体30のスカート壁50の外周面に形成されているナールに対応したナール(凹凸形状)91が形成されている。

本発明に従って構成された蓋体仮装着装置においては、少なくとも蓋体被嵌域34の下流端から搬送経路28に沿って下流に延びる一対の矯正レール92が配設されていることが重要である。図示の実施形態においては、図3乃至図5から明確に理解される如く、上記一対の側壁部材58の水平部62の下面に、締結ボルトの如き適宜の連結手段(図示していない)によって一対の矯正レール92が固定されている。一対の矯正レール92は所定間隔をおいて相互に平行に上記搬送経路28に沿ってその両側を、蓋体被嵌域34の下流部から仮締域36よりも幾分下流まで延びている。図4に明確に図示されている如く、一対の矯正レール92の各々は、蓋体被嵌域34の下流部においては比較的大きな傾斜角度αをなして下流に向かって下方に傾斜して延び、次いで蓋体被嵌域34の下流端から若干の傾斜角度βをなして下流に向かって下方に傾斜して延びている。上記傾斜角度αは、上記静止シュート42の先端に開放自在に保持されている蓋体30の傾斜角度と略同一で、20度程度でよい。上記傾斜角度βは、0乃至5度程度であるのが好適である。図示の実施形態においては、一対の矯正レール92は蓋体被嵌域34の下流端から仮締域36よりも幾分下流まで同一の傾斜角度βで一直線状に延びているが、所望ならば、一対の矯正レール92の一部を、例えば蓋体被嵌域34と仮締域36との間に上流部(従って蓋体被嵌域36の直ぐ下流に位置する部分)及び仮締域36の上流部分等を、部分的に実質上水平に延在せしめることもできる。図5に明確に図示されている如く、一対の矯正レール92の各々は、一対の側壁部材58の水平部62の内側縁を幾分越えて搬送経路28に突出せしめられており、一対の側壁部材58間の間隔は、容器本体16の口頸部18の外径よりは幾分大きいが蓋体30のスカート壁50の下端の外径よりは幾分小さくせしめられている。

本発明に従って構成された蓋体仮装着装置には、更に、少なくとも蓋体被嵌域34の下流端から仮締域36の上流端までの範囲において、容器本体16の口頸部18に被嵌された蓋体30を下方に、従って口頸部18に向けて弾性的に偏倚する弾性偏倚手段が配設されているのが好都合である。図4及び図5に図示する如く、図示の実施形態においては、一対の側壁部材58間において支持天板56の下面には、搬送方向に適宜の間隔をおいて複数個の板ばね部材94が装着されており、かかる複数個の板ばね部材94が上記弾性偏倚手段を構成している。複数個の板ばね部材94の各々は、支持天板56の下面に沿って位置せしめらた装着部96と、この装着部96から実質上鉛直に下方に延びる垂下部98と、垂下部98の下端から搬送方向下流に向かって幾分下方に傾斜して延びる作用部100とを有する。板ばね部材94の作用部100の傾斜角度γは10乃至20度程度でよい。

上述したとおりの蓋体仮装着装置においては、搬送手段2によって直立状態に支持されて搬送される容器本体16が蓋体被嵌域34を通過する際に、蓋体供給手段38の静止シュート42の先端に開放自在に把持されている蓋体30が容器本体16の口頸部18に被嵌される。図4に明確に図示する如く、静止シュート42の先端に把持されている蓋体30は、その中心軸線が上方に向かって容器本体の搬送方向に見て下流側に傾斜した前傾状態であり、かかる前傾状態の蓋体30が容器本体16の口頸部18に被嵌される。次いで、蓋体被嵌域34から下流に容器本体16が搬送されると、図4及び図5を参照することによって明確に理解される如く、複数個の板ばね部材94の作用部100が蓋体30の天面壁48に作用して蓋体30を下方に弾性的に偏倚せしめるが、搬送経路28の両側部において、蓋体30のスカート壁50の下端が一対の矯正レール92に当接することによって蓋体30の下降が阻止される。蓋体被嵌域34の下流側において一対の矯正レール92は略水平に延びている、詳細には0乃至5度程度でよい若干の傾斜角度βで下流に向かって下方に傾斜して延びている故に、一対の矯正レール92が蓋体30のスカート壁50の下端に作用することによって、蓋体30は前傾状態から実質上水平な状態に矯正され、そして実質上水平な状態に維持されて搬送される。一対の矯正レール92が蓋体30のスカート壁50の下端に作用して蓋体30の下降を阻止する故に、蓋体30は容器本体16の口頸部18に緊密に被嵌された状態にはならず、口頸部18から若干浮上した状態に維持されるが、口頸部18が蓋体30のスカート壁50の前側部(図4において右側部)に後方即ち内側から当接する故に、容器本体16の移動に付随して蓋体30も充分確実に下流に向けて搬送される。
