本発明は、電子写真方式を用いたレーザプリンタ、ファクシミリ、複写機等の画像記録装置に関する。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
電子写真方式を用いたレーザープリンタ等の画像記録装置では、画像記録装置本体よりも耐久性の劣るユニットを交換ユニットとして用意し、所定枚数のプリント、コピー後にサービスマンによる交換を行っているが、人件費も掛かり、交換費用はかなり割高となっている。そこで、そういった交換ユニットを使用者に交換してもらえる方式を採用した画像記録装置が提案されるようになってきている。

そのような画像記録装置については、サービスマンとは異なり、画像記録装置の構造や取り扱いについての教育を受けていないオペレータ等が交換作業を行うので、安全性や破損防止等に充分配慮する必要がある。そこで本発明は、定着装置を一般のユーザーが交換可能とした画像記録装置において、交換可能なユニット等を取り外したままでは画像記録装置本体の電源投入を行えず、オペレータの安全と装置の破壊防止を図れる画像記録装置を提供することを目的とする。

本発明の画像記録装置のうち請求項1に係るものは、上記目的を達成するために、定着装置とプロセスカートリッジを画像記録装置本体に対して着脱可能とし、かつ上記定着装置の側面にピンを突設し、上記プロセスカートリッジの側面に上記定着装置の装着時に上記ピンに押されて上方へ回転するレバー部材を設け、上記画像記録装置本体の該レバー部材の上方回動位置に対応する部位に、上記レバー部材との当接により上記画像記録装置への通電を可能とする検知装置を設けてなることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下本発明の実施の形態を図面を参照して説明する。
図1は本発明の実施対象となる電子写真方式を利用した画像記録装置であるレーザプリンタの全体構造を示す略中央断面図である。図中の矢印方向に回転する感光体1のまわりには、帯電手段2、クリーニング手段3、レーザー光学系4、トナー5を供給して感光体1上の静電潜像を顕像化する現像手段6、転写手段7が配置してある。また、図1の下方側には図の左右方向で着脱可能な第一の給紙手段である給紙カセット10が設けてあり、その内部の用紙Pは、底板11で給紙ローラ12に押し付けられ(加圧手段は図示せず)、給紙ローラ12が回転すると用紙Pの最上紙は分離パッド13で一枚ずつに分離されながらレジストローラ20まで搬送され、感光体1上の画像と同期するようにタイミングがとられて、さらに用紙は転写手段7に送り出される。
