本発明は、電気自動車に係り、特に駆動用モーターを車輪に一体に組み付けた電気自動車のサスペンション機構に関するものである。

従来、このような分野の先行技術としては、以下に示すようなものがあった。

このように、インホイールモーター型の電気自動車のサスペンション機構にあっては、インホイールモーター(減速歯車機構を含む)208は車輪210の車体側に突出するように配置せざるを得ない。さらに、高い出力を得るためには、インホイールモーターも大型になり、また、減速歯車機構のスペースも要するために、ますます車輪210の車体側に突出する設計にならざるを得ない。

本発明は、上記目的を達成するために、
〔1〕電気自動車のサスペンション機構において、駆動用モーターを車輪の車体側に突出するように組み込んだインホイールモーターと、一端が前記インホイールモーターの下部にジョイント結合され、他端が車体側に軸支されたウィッシュボーン状のローアーアームと、一端が前記インホイールモーターの上部にジョイント結合され、他端が車体側に軸支されたアッパーアームと、前記インホイールモーターの車体に対する上下振動を減衰させるバネとダンパーからなる緩衝装置と、前記インホイールモーターの外側ケースを迂回する略L字形の連結アームであって、この略L字形の連結アームの曲線部分が前記インホイールモーターとの干渉を避けるため股状に開かれ、その両端で一体化された形状を有する略L字形の連結アームとを備え、前記略L字形の連結アームの一端を前記ローアーアームの車輪側ジョイント部に固定し、その上方に延びる他端と車体側との間に、前記緩衝装置を横方向に配置することを特徴とする。
