BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a throttle body with a diffuser for an internal combustion engine, and is intended to reduce energy loss by suppressing a separation phenomenon of intake fluid downstream of a throttle valve, particularly downstream of a throttle shaft.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Recently, a throttle body for controlling the intake air amount of an internal combustion engine is attached to a surge tank provided upstream of the intake manifold in order to reduce intake pulsation in the intake manifold. Inhalation devices configured to supply air are known. The surge tank cannot be denied in order to secure its volume. For this reason, the inner diameter of the surge tank is larger than the inner diameter of the throttle bore of the throttle body, resulting in a difference in inner diameter. For this reason, in the downstream portion of the throttle body, the fluid deceleration and the complicated flow phenomenon occur to cause a separation phenomenon, and energy loss occurs due to the flow based on the separation phenomenon, thereby reducing the intake efficiency of the engine. As a countermeasure against this, as shown in FIG. 4, it is a common practice to provide a

Where P1: pressure of the inner wall of the throttle bore (static pressure), u1: flow velocity of the inner wall of the throttle bore, P2: pressure of the inner wall of the surge tank (static pressure), u2: flow velocity of the inner wall of the surge tank, ρ is fluid Density, g is gravity acceleration. Accordingly, the pressure recovery efficiency η as an index of how efficiently the velocity energy is converted into the pressure energy is derived as follows.

[Expression 2]
[0007]
In order to improve the pressure recovery efficiency η, it is necessary to suppress the separation phenomenon in the diffuser part and to convert the velocity energy into pressure energy well. For that purpose, it is important to regulate the peeling region due to the peeling phenomenon.
[0008]
Accordingly, the present invention provides a diffuser-equipped throttle that can suppress the separation phenomenon formed in the downstream back portion of the throttle shaft when the throttle valve is fully opened and can regulate and reduce the separation region to improve the pressure recovery efficiency of the surge tank. The problem is to propose an improved structure for the body.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problem, the invention of claim 1 is directed to a conical surface provided in a throttle bore portion downstream of the throttle valve in order to prevent a separation phenomenon of the intake fluid caused by a sudden increase in the diameter of the intake passage. In the throttle body having the diffuser, there are provided two separators formed in a plate shape for partitioning the passage portion in the diffuser in the axial direction of the throttle shaft. Further, the invention according to

[Action]
As described above, in the present invention, the intake fluid flowing through the throttle bore is partially formed between the separator and the diffuser conical surface by the upstream tip of the separator provided on the downstream back portion of the throttle shaft. It flows to the surge tank through the crescent-shaped passage. Therefore, the flow velocity of the intake fluid that passes through the crescent-shaped passage is difficult to decrease, and the expansion of the separation region due to the separation phenomenon can be suppressed, and the separation plate restricts the advancement of the separation region to the center of the passage. There is no separation area in the passage between the plates. As the upstream tip of the separator plate is closer to the throttle bore center, the amount of fluid flowing through the crescent-shaped passage increases, and the deceleration is hindered to further suppress the generation of the separation region.

【The invention's effect】
Since this invention is comprised as mentioned above, there exist the following effects. That is, the intake fluid flowing through the throttle bore flows to the surge tank through a crescent-shaped passage formed partly between the separator and the diffuser conical surface by the upstream tip of the separator at the downstream back portion of the throttle shaft. The closer the upstream tip of the separator is to the center of the throttle bore, the more the amount of intake fluid flowing through the crescent-shaped passage increases and the deceleration is hindered. As a result, the peeled area is reduced and the pressure recovery efficiency can be improved. Further, by bringing the inclination angle of the separator closer to the taper angle of the diffuser, the separation region is further reduced and the pressure recovery efficiency is improved.
