本発明は、携帯電話、自動車電話あるいは簡易型携帯電話(PHS:Personal Handyphone System)等の移動体通信端末としての移動電話を利用した自動販売機システムに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、自動販売機システムとしては、図5に示すものが知られている。この自動販売機システム200は、ホストコンピュータ7と、電話回線等の通信回線8と、この通信回線8によりホストコンピュータ7と接続される自動販売機V1 〜Vn を備えて構成されている。各自動販売機V1 〜Vn には、コントローラ62と、カード読取部61と、商品選択部63と、商品排出部64が設けられている。

上記の従来の自動販売機システム200においては、プリペイドカード等の金額情報が記憶されたカードC、あるいはクレジットカード等の個人識別情報(ID番号、又は銀行口座番号等のデータ)が記憶されたカードCを所有している購買者は、このカードCを自動販売機V1 のカード読取部61に挿入する。カード読取部61は、カードに記憶されている情報を読み取る。読み取られたカード情報は、コントローラ62に送られ、コントローラ62からホストコンピュータ7に転送される。ホストコンピュータ7は、カード情報内の個人識別情報がこの自動販売機システム200で使用可能であるか否か、あるいはカードが偽造カードではないか否かを判別する。その結果、カード情報内の個人識別情報がこの自動販売機システム200で使用可能である場合には、ホストコンピュータ7は自動販売機V1 のコントローラ62に「カード使用可能」の情報を通信回線8を介して送信する。自動販売機V1 のコントローラ62は、この「カード使用可能」の情報を受信した場合、商品選択部63を入力可能な状態に能動化させる。プリペイドカードの場合は、カード内の残高金額を図示しない表示器等に表示する。この状態で、購買者が、商品選択部63の商品選択ボタン(図示せず)等を操作して特定の商品を選択すると、その商品選択信号はコントローラ62に送られる。コントローラ62は、商品選択信号を受けると、選択された商品の対価を購買者に請求するための課金情報をホストコンピュータ7に送るか、又はプリペイドカードの場合は選択された商品の対価をカード残高から差し引く。同時に、コントローラ62は、選択された商品を外部に排出させる商品排出信号を商品排出部64に送る。商品排出部64は、商品排出信号を受け、選択された商品Gを外部に排出する。かくして、購買者は、商品Gを購入することができる。

しかし、上記従来の自動販売機システムにおいては、商品購入に特定のプリペイドカードやクレジットカードが必要であり、カードを忘れると商品購入ができず不便であった。また、今日では、商品購入のためのカード以外に各種のカードが存在しており、カードの管理も煩雑になってきている。

一方、最近、移動体通信の発達により移動電話機による公衆電話回線の利用が可能となってきている。移動電話機も、広域エリアで通信可能な移動電話や自動車電話から、狭いエリアながら安価で個人的な使用を目的としたいわゆるPHSも普及しつつある。また、公衆電話回線を単に通話やデータ送信のみでなく付加価値のある情報の伝達に利用し電話料金に情報利用料金を加算して支払うサ−ビスシステムも現われてきている。このような状況下で、公衆電話回線を利用したさらに新たな自動販売機システムの構築が可能である。

上記の課題を解決するため、請求項1に記載の発明は、無線信号を送受信するアンテナを含む送受信手段、指定商品を外部に排出する商品排出手段、および、前記送受信手段を介して受信された商品選択情報に応じて指定商品を前記商品排出手段を介して排出させ、前記排出商品の対価に相当する課金情報および前記発信元識別情報を前記送受信手段を介して送出するよう制御する制御手段を含む一または複数台の自動販売機と、発信元識別情報、一または複数台の自動販売機のいずれかを指定するための呼出情報、および商品選択情報を無線送信可能な移動電話機と、前記課金情報および発信元識別情報に基づいて料金を回収する料金回収手段とを備えて構成される。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、請求項1乃至4によれば、クレジットカード等のかわりに移動電話機を利用するので、貨幣や紙幣を用いる必要がなく、またカードの準備や管理等の煩雑さから解放され、自動販売機の利用者の利便を一層増すことができる。また、移動電話機を有する公衆電話システムをそのまま利用することができるので、各自動販売機に特別の通信回線を敷設配線する必要がなく、システムの変更、新規構築が容易である。さらに、大規模工場や大規模病院等の構内電話交換機を利用して、個人ごとの自動販売機利用度数計算機能を活用することにより、自動販売機利用者からの給与天引き処理等の後払い方式の支払いが容易になる、という利点もある。

前記課金情報および前記発信元識別情報に基づいて料金を回収する料金回収手段と、を備え
前記移動電話機が前記一または複数台の自動販売機の近傍に存在する場合、前記移動電話機と前記一または複数台の自動販売機との間の交信は、前記一または複数の中継局を介さずに行われ、
前記移動電話機が前記一または複数台の自動販売機から離れて前記一または複数の中継局の近傍に存在する場合、前記移動電話機と前記一または複数台の自動販売機との間の交信は、前記一または複数の中継局を介して行われる、ことを特徴とする自動販売機システム。
