Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric transformer using a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric vibrator and a transformer device in which the piezoelectric transformer is mounted on a printed board.
[0002]
[Prior art]
There are many devices that do not require a large current value but require a high voltage of about 1 kV, such as lighting a backlight of a liquid crystal display and toner charging of a copying machine. A piezoelectric transformer is known as a device to which a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric vibrator is applied, and this piezoelectric transformer can be used in the above-described apparatus. Currently, ceramics and lithium niobate single crystals are often used as vibrators used in piezoelectric transformers.
[0003]
As a general structure of this type of piezoelectric transformer, as shown in the schematic diagram of FIG. 8,
[0004]
Further, in the piezoelectric transformer in which the input / output electrodes are formed only on the side surface of the rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric vibrator, a pair of
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In general, piezoelectric transformers are extremely demanded for miniaturization, low profile, and low cost. However, the conventional piezoelectric transformer has a drawback that it cannot sufficiently satisfy these requirements. That is, in the transformer shown in FIG. 8, it is necessary to take out the extraction electrodes from at least three surfaces of the upper and lower surfaces and the end surface of the rectangular plate-like piezoelectric vibrator. There was a drawback that the demands for miniaturization, low profile and low cost could not be satisfied sufficiently.
[0006]
Also, in the transformer shown in FIG. 9, since the electrodes are present only on the side surfaces of the rectangular plate-like piezoelectric vibrator, surface mounting is difficult with the structure as it is, and the surface is devised with a support tool, a lead electrode, etc. Even when mounting, the dimensions of the support and the like are larger than the surface area of the vibrator, and it is difficult to satisfy the requirements of the original transformer.
[0007]
As described above, the conventional piezoelectric transformer has a drawback that it is very difficult to sufficiently satisfy the market demands for size reduction, height reduction, and cost reduction.
[0008]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric transformer that can be reduced in size, reduced in height, and reduced in cost, and can be easily surface-mounted without deterioration in characteristics, reliability, etc., and a transformer device using the piezoelectric transformer. is there.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric vibrator defined by two main surfaces facing each other and a side surface extending between these main surfaces, at least a pair of input electrodes and at least a pair provided on the side surfaces characterized in the piezoelectric transformer having an output electrode, each of said input electrode and said output electrode only on one main surface of said second main surface that was formed an extension electrode portion is extended to nodes of vibrations present A piezoelectric transformer is obtained.
[0010]
According to the present invention, in the piezoelectric transformer, the extended electrode portion is located on the one main surface and in the vicinity of the side surface.
[0011]
According to the invention, there is provided a transformer device in which the piezoelectric transformer is mounted on a printed board, the printed board having electrode pads at positions corresponding to the extended electrode portions of the input electrode and the output electrode, A transformer device comprising a drive circuit and a control circuit for a piezoelectric transformer connected to an electrode pad, wherein the piezoelectric transformer is mounted on the printed circuit board in a state where the extension electrode portion is in contact with the electrode pad. Is obtained.
[0012]
According to the invention, in the transformer device, an elastic material having electrical continuity is interposed between the electrode pad and the printed board, thereby separating the piezoelectric transformer from the printed board. A transformer device can be obtained.
[0013]
According to the invention, in the transformer device, the electrode pad is a leaf spring having elastic characteristics and electrical continuity, and the piezoelectric transformer is elastically supported by the leaf spring while being separated from the printed circuit board. A transformer device characterized by the above can be obtained.
[0014]
[Action]
In the present invention, the surface mounting is facilitated by forming a lead-out electrode only on one main surface of the piezoelectric transformer so that it can be directly connected to the printed circuit board. In addition, by interposing an elastic object having electrical continuity between the piezoelectric transformer and the printed circuit board, the characteristics and reliability are greatly improved, and the mounting area of the piezoelectric transformer is greatly reduced, resulting in characteristics, reliability, and miniaturization. Is sufficiently satisfied, enabling surface mounting easily.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0016]
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a piezoelectric transformer according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an explanatory view showing a displacement distribution of the piezoelectric transformer. The piezoelectric transformer includes a rectangular plate-shaped piezoelectric vibrator 11 defined by two principal surfaces facing each other and a side surface extending between these principal surfaces. The side surface of the piezoelectric vibrator 11 is provided with at least a pair of

The piezoelectric vibrator 11 has a size of 40 mm × 10 mm × 1.5 mm, and is made by overlapping a plurality of PZT ceramic
[0019]
Next, the characteristics of the piezoelectric transformer of FIG. 1 will be described. Table 1 shows the output voltage characteristics depending on the number of layers when the load resistance is set to 50 kΩ, which is almost equivalent to that of the cold cathode tube. In addition, a φ2.6 × 220 mm cold cathode tube could be turned on by increasing the input voltage.

[Table 1]
[0021]
Next, FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing a piezoelectric transformer according to another embodiment of the present invention. This piezoelectric transformer has substantially the same configuration as the piezoelectric transformer of FIG. 1, and therefore, the same reference numerals are given to the same parts and the description thereof is omitted. Further, in the piezoelectric transformer of FIG. 4, the extension electrode portions 12 a ′, 12 b ′, 13 a ′, and 13 b ′ are located on one main surface and in the vicinity of the side surface.

[0024]
[Table 2]
[0025]
From Table 2, it can be seen that the reduction in Qm due to mounting is smaller in the configuration of FIG. 4 than in the configuration of FIG. This is because the configuration shown in FIG. 4 has a smaller electrode area extending to one main surface of the piezoelectric vibrator, and thus the influence of mounting is reduced. Therefore, the characteristics can be further improved by further reducing the electrode area.

[0029]
Here, the piezoelectric transformer has the structure shown in FIG. 4 and is a five-layer laminate.

[Table 3]
[0031]
From Table 3, it can be seen that the Qm value hardly decreases before and after mounting by adopting the configuration of FIG. 6 or FIG. This is very effective in putting the piezoelectric transformer into practical use.

Finally, in each embodiment of the present invention, a lead electrode formed on one main surface of the piezoelectric transformer, that is, extended electrode portions 12a ′, 12b ′, 13a ′, 13b ′ and an

【The invention's effect】
As explained above, since the piezoelectric transformer of the present invention can take out the electrode for extraction only on one surface, compared with the conventional piezoelectric transformer, it is possible to greatly reduce the size, height and cost. Furthermore, since surface mounting becomes easy without deterioration of characteristics, reliability, etc., the practical effect is very large.
