本発明は、自動車用ウエザーストリップの取付構造に関し、詳しくはウエザーストリップの取付基底部に貼り付けられる両面テープの継ぎ合わせ部の構造に係るものである。

図3に示す如く、ウエザーストリップ1の取付基底部1aに貼り付けられる両面テープ6は、継ぎ合わせ部7の接合端面7a、7bが幅方法に垂直に切断した如く直線状8に形成され、この両接合端面7a、7bが隙間無く突き合わせた状態で接合されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、両面テープ6を上記取付基底部1aに貼り付ける工程での不手際や、ウエザーストリップ1の車両のパネルへの取付け後の両面テープ6の収縮などにより、両面テープ6の突き合わせた両接合端面7a、7bの間が開き隙間Sを生じることがあり、その隙間Sより雨水や風が車室内に侵入するという不具合があった。
そこで、本発明はかかる従来の課題に鑑みて、両面テープの貼り付け工程での不手際や取付け後の収縮などで、両面テープの両接合端面に隙間を生じても風雨の侵入を防止できる自動車用ウエザーストリップの取付構造を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
かかる目的を達成するために本発明の構成は、図1及び図2に示すように、車両のプレートに両面テープ2を介してウエザーストリップ1を取付けるようにした自動車用ウエザーストリップの取付構造において、上記ウエザーストリップ1の取付基底部1aに貼り付けられる上記両面テープ2の継ぎ合わせ部3が、幅方向の継ぎ目形状において長手方向の接合面4を有する段階状5に形成されて成るものである。

以下、本発明の実施例を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。図1及び図2において、1は自動車用ウエザーストリップで、取付基底部1a及び中空シール部1bを形成している。該ウエザーストリップ1は取付基底部1aに両面テープ2が貼り付けられた後、車体のドア開口部或いはドア周縁部等の車両パネル(図示省略)に取付けられる。上記両面テープ2の継ぎ合わせ部3は両接合端面3a、3bが隙間無く突き合わせられ、その幅方向の継ぎ目形状は長手方向の接合面4を有する段階状5に形成されている。

上記両面テープ2の継ぎ合わせ部3において、上記取付基底部1aへの貼り付け時の不手際や、ウエザーストリップ1の車両パネルへの取付け後の収縮などで、図2に点線で示す如く両接合端面3a、3bが長手方向に離間して隙間sを生じても、上記長手方向の接合面4が常に密接しているため、雨水等が矢印Wの如く車室内へ侵入しようとしても接合面4で阻止される。

以上説明したように本発明の自動車用ウエザーストリップの取付構造は、ウエザーストリップの取付基底部に貼り付けられる両面テープの継ぎ合わせ部が、長手方向の接合面を有する段階状に形成されており、両接合端面が収縮などで離間しても上記長手方向の接合面は依然として密接するため、従来の直線状の継ぎ合わせ部と異なり車室内への雨水等の侵入を阻止できる。
