Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electrical connector, and more particularly to an electrical connector that is in pressure contact with a contact portion of a cable core and a contact.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In this type of electrical connector, there is known a type in which a contact portion is formed by maintaining a plate surface of a metal plate and a contact portion is formed, and a side end surface of the contact portion is in contact with a cable core wire. . One example thereof is disclosed in JP-A-10-255921.
[0003]
In this known connector, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 of the accompanying drawings, a cable holder 52 is fitted in one housing 51, and a contact 62 is held in the other housing 61.
[0004]
One housing 51 has a rectangular tube shape, and a cable holder 52 that is fitted and held therein has a held portion 53 and a protruding portion 54 that protrudes outside the housing 51. On the upper surface of the held portion 53, a space for accommodating the cable arranging member 55 is formed between the housing 51 and the housing 51. The cable arranging member 55 is configured to hold the plurality of cables C with a dielectric portion C1 that is exposed by peeling off the outer skin. Further, the protruding portion 54 of the cable holder 52 is formed with a cable guide groove 56 corresponding to each cable from the upper surface to the lower surface, and the cable core wire C2 exposed from the dielectric portion C1 is wound in a U shape. As you can see. In addition, each core wire C2 is hold | maintained at the front-end | tip part of the core wire C2 of a some cable with the holding tape 57 etc. so that it may not isolate | separate irregularly.
[0005]
The contactor 62 held in the other housing 61 is formed by punching while a metal plate maintains its flat surface. In FIG. 7, the contactor 62 maintains a plane parallel to the paper surface. The contact 62 includes a base 63 held by the housing 61, an elastic arm portion 64 extending from the base 63 in a U shape, and a connection portion 65 projecting out of the housing 61. . The base 63 is formed with a protrusion 63 </ b> A that bites into the housing 61 so as to maintain a predetermined position, and a contact portion 64 </ b> A is formed on the inner side of the distal end of the elastic arm 64.
[0006]
The two housings 51 and 61 are coupled to the protruding portion 54 of one housing 51 so that the opening side of the other housing 61 is fitted. Then, as shown in FIG. 7, the contact portion 64A is pressed against the cable core wire C2 in the guide groove 56 so that the contact portion 64A is pressed, and is connected to the core wire C2 at the side end surface of the contact portion 64A. Is done.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the known connector shown in FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, the core wire is exposed at the pressure contact portion, so that not only the core wire C2 but also the dielectric portion C1 exists in the guide groove 56 of one housing 51. Therefore, the groove width of the guide groove 56 is the dimension of the diameter of the dielectric portion C1. Therefore, since the groove width of the guide groove 56 is too large with respect to the core wire C2, the position of the core wire C2 moves in the groove width direction and is not constant when the contact portion 64A is pressed against the contact portion 64A. It becomes stable. Further, since the groove width is often larger than the diameter of the cable (dielectric part) for easy insertion, the position of the core wire at the time of pressure contact becomes further unstable.
[0008]
An object of the present invention is to provide an electrical connector that can easily insert a cable and can stabilize the press contact without moving the position of the cable during the press contact.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The electrical connector according to the present invention includes an insulating housing that holds a plurality of metal contacts having contact portions. Then, the contact portion is brought into contact with the core wire of the cable to make a pressure contact connection.
[0010]
In the electrical connector of this type, in the present invention, a pressurizing portion is formed that is rotatable between an open position and a closed position with respect to the housing and presses the cable to the contact portion by rotating to the closed position. have a lid-like pressing member, pressure member has receiving grooves of the cable on the surface facing located on the opposite side of the contact portion is formed to the cable, receiving insertion groove is pressurized holding member and the inlet section to facilitate the introduction of cable opposite to the contact portion when in the open position, which faces the contact portion when the pressure member is rotated to the closed position, to hold the cable As the pressure member rotates from the open position to the closed position, a portion facing the contact portion moves from the introduction portion to the holding portion.
[0011]
In the present invention having such a configuration, the cable is fed in the longitudinal direction and inserted into the housing in a state where the pressing member is in the open position without exposing the core wire from the coating. At that time, the cable is guided by an introduction portion of a receiving groove formed in the pressure member. Thereafter, the pressure member is rotated from the open position to the closed position. As this rotation of the pressure member proceeds, the engagement position of the cable with the receiving groove shifts from the introduction portion to the holding portion. As a result, when the cable is pressed against the contact portion of the contact by the pressurizing portion of the pressurizing member and connected to the cable core wire, the cable is firmly held by the holding portion, and the position is stable. Yes.
[0012]
In the present invention, the pressure part is formed as a groove bottom surface in the holding part, and the groove width of the receiving groove is approximately the same as the diameter of the cable in the holding part or slightly smaller than the cable diameter, and the holding part in the introduction part. It should be larger than the groove width. The cable may be a flat cable such as a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) or a flexible flat cable (FFC), and in that case, the groove width is similarly set according to the width of the flat cable.
[0013]
Further, it is preferable that the receiving groove has a transition portion formed between the introduction portion and the holding portion, and the groove width of the transition portion gradually changes from the groove width of the introduction portion to the groove width of the holding portion.
[0014]
The contactor is formed by processing a metal plate, and the contact part is formed while maintaining a flat surface of the metal plate, and the side part of the contact part bites into the cable sheath and comes into contact with the core wire. can do.
[0015]
Further, if the receiving groove forms a substantially V-shaped groove bottom surface in which the groove deepens toward the center in the groove width direction in at least one of the introduction part and the holding part, the position of the cable Is more certain.
[0016]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6 of the accompanying drawings.
[0017]
1 is a plan view of the connector of the present embodiment, FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the connector of FIG. 1, FIG. 2A is a pressing member in an open position, FIG. 2B is an intermediate position, and FIG. Each time is in position.
[0018]
In the figure, the connector has a housing body 1 and a pressure member 11 made of an insulating material, and a plurality of contacts 21 made of a metal plate.
[0019]
The housing body 1 includes a body portion 2 that extends vertically in FIG. 1, which is a plan view, and support arm portions 3 and overhang portions 4 that extend forward and backward at both ends of the body portion 2. A plurality of contacts 21 to be described later are held on the main body 2 at predetermined intervals, and protrude from the main body 2 in the front-rear direction. A lid-shaped pressurizing member 11 is located in front of the main body 2 and is supported by the support arm 3 so as to be rotatable around an axis 19A by shafts 19 provided at both ends thereof. Yes. At the end of the pressure member 11, there is provided a locking projection 11A for locking with the edge of the support arm 3, and the pressure member 11 is locked in the closed position shown in FIG. ing.
[0020]
Next, the internal structure of the connector according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 2 which is a cross-sectional view taken along a plane parallel to the plate surface of the contact 21.
[0021]
A plurality of slit-like holding holes 5 are formed in the main body portion 2 of the housing main body 1 so as to penetrate the plate-like contactors 21 in the front-rear direction.
[0022]
As described above, the contact 21 is formed by taking a metal plate, but the flat plate surface is maintained as it is. The contact 21 includes a base portion 22 that is press-fitted into the holding hole 5 of the housing body 1, a connection portion 23 that extends rearward from the base portion 22 and protrudes from the body portion 2, and extends forward from the base portion 22. And an upper arm portion 24 and a lower arm portion 25 that are substantially U-shaped. A locking protrusion 22 </ b> A for securing a position in the holding hole 5 is provided on the lower edge of the base portion 22. A pivot support 26 having an arcuate edge is provided at the tip of the upper arm 24. Center of the arcuate edge of the pivoting support portion 26 is located on the extension of the axis 19A of the shaft portion 19 provided on the pressure member 11. The lower arm portion 25 is flexible in the vertical direction, and a contact portion 27 including two protrusions forming a triangle is formed on the inner edge of the tip portion.
[0023]
As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the pressurizing member 11 is rotated by an arc column-shaped envelope formed by arranging the rotation support portions 26 forming the arc-shaped edges of the plurality of contacts 21 in a comb-teeth shape. A concave arcuate rotationally guided portion 12 that is guided by movement is formed. The pressurizing member 11 has a receiving groove 13 for the cable C and a pressurizing portion 14 at a portion facing the contact portion 27 of the contactor 21.
[0024]
The receiving groove 13 of the pressurizing member 11 has an introduction part 13A, a transition part 13B, and a holding part 13C as seen in FIG. The introduction portion 13A is formed at a position facing the contact portion 27 of the contact 21 when the pressure member 11 is in the open position in FIG. 2A, and the holding portion 13C is formed by the pressure member 11 in FIG. Is formed at a position facing the contact portion 27 when in the closed position. And the transition part 13B is formed in the transition area of the intermediate | middle of the said introduction part 13A and the holding | maintenance part 13C.
[0025]
The introduction portion 13A has such a groove width that the cable can be easily inserted. In the example shown in FIG. 3, the portion 13A2 near the transition portion 13B has a slight groove width toward the end portion on the cable insertion side. It has spread. In the inner portion 13A1 in the cable insertion direction, the groove width is constant. Here, in the case of the coaxial cable with a shield wire shown in FIG. 2, the cable means a cable in which the shield wire is removed and the layer of the dielectric C1 remains on the core wire C2. That is, the introduction portion 13A is formed to have a groove width in which the portion of the dielectric C1 can be easily inserted in the longitudinal direction. Further, in a normal cable that does not have a shielded wire, that is, a cable that only has a coating on the core wire, the groove width is such that the cable can be easily inserted as it is.
[0026]
The holding portion 13C has a groove width dimension sufficient to hold the cable (dielectric C1), that is, the groove width is the same as or slightly smaller than the cable diameter.
[0027]
The transition portion 13B is formed such that the groove width gradually decreases from the introduction portion 13A toward the holding portion 13C. The reduction method may be linear or curvilinear. In the present embodiment, the groove bottoms of the transition part 13B and the holding part 13C form the pressurizing part 14.
[0028]
Further, in the present embodiment, an opening portion 15 having a groove width wider than that of the holding portion 13C is formed in a portion after the holding portion 13C.
[0029]
In the connector of the present embodiment having the above-described configuration, the cable pressure connection is performed in the following manner.
{Circle around (1)} First, when the cable is a coaxial cable as shown in FIG. 2, the outer skin C4 and the shielded wire C3 are removed at the tip portion to expose the dielectric C1. In the case of a normal cable having no shielded wire, it may be left as it is.
{Circle around (2)} In the present embodiment, a plurality of cable shield wires C3 are arranged, and a plurality of metal sheet-like holding members C5 are soldered to the shield wires C3 on the upper and lower surfaces. Preferably, the cables are held together.
(3) Next, the pressure member 11 is opened, and the cable (the portion of the dielectric C1 that is exposed in the case of the coaxial cable) is inserted into the receiving groove 13 formed in the pressure member 11 from the tip. It is inserted into the introduction part 13A and arranged on the contact part 27 of the contact 21. At that time, the insertion of the cable into the introduction part 13 is made very easy through the part 13A2 closer to the transition part and into the back part 13A1 (see FIG. 2A).
{Circle around (4)} Thereafter, the pressure member 11 is rotated and brought to the closed position of FIG. 2 (C) through the state of FIG. 2 (B). With this rotation, the cable is supported by the transition portion 13B (see FIG. 2B) and then held by the holding portion 13C (see FIG. 2C). In the holding portion 13C, the cable cannot be moved in the groove width direction and is held at a fixed position. Further, the contact portion 27 bites into the cable and comes into contact with the core wire C2. At this time, the cable does not move in the groove width direction, that is, the thickness direction of the contact as described above. Makes reliable and stable contact with the core wire. Thus, the cable is press-contacted with the contact 21 of the connector.
[0030]
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 and can be modified. For example, in order to further stabilize the cable in the groove width direction, the pressure member receiving groove is formed with a receiving groove, particularly a groove bottom surface 13C1 of the holding portion 13C formed in a V-shaped surface as shown in FIG. When the bottom surface of the groove as the pressurizing portion presses the cable, the wedge force at the bottom surface of the groove can reliably hold the cable at the center.
[0031]
The shape of the receiving groove of the pressure member is further deformable. As shown in FIG. 6 (A), even if the diameter of the core wire C2 of the cable C1 is thin, the position of the core wire C2 is determined in the groove width direction. Therefore, it is preferable to provide a flat groove bottom 13D in the V-shaped groove portion of the holding portion 13C. In this way, when the contact portion 27 bites into the cable (dielectric) C1, in the case of FIG. 5, if the diameter of the cable is thin, the cable may escape toward the groove bottom, but the flat groove of FIG. This is avoided by the bottom 13D, and the position of the core wire C2 is stabilized.
[0032]
Further, as shown in FIG. 6B, a protrusion 13E may be formed so as to face the cable from the center of the groove bottom. In this case, the core C2 can be stabilized in the groove width direction because the dielectric C1 of the cable escapes toward both sides of the ridge 13E.
[0033]
FIG. 6C is a drawing in which the pressure member is partially broken. As shown in FIG. 6C, the present invention is not limited to the above-described ordinary cable, but a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) in which a circuit portion P1 is formed on the flexible circuit board P, or a plurality of cables are on one side. It may be a flat cable C ′ such as a flexible flat cable (FFC) integrally arranged so as to form, and in this case, the receiving groove 13 of the pressurizing member 11 has a wide width for receiving FPC or FFC. It becomes one groove.
[0034]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the pressure member has a receiving groove for introducing and holding the cable, and the receiving groove easily receives the cable at the introducing portion and holds the cable as the pressure member rotates. Therefore, the contact portion of the contact is pressed against the core wire very reliably and stably. In this way, the cable can be easily inserted and the work can be facilitated, and a stable pressure contact connection can be automatically performed by the rotation of the pressure member. Furthermore, since the contact portion bites into the cable sheath and comes into pressure contact with it, there is no need to remove part of the sheath covering the core wire, and the work is also simplified in this respect.
