【0001】

Thereafter, printing is started by the head 4, and each time printing for one line is performed, an operation is repeated in which the sheet P is fed by the conveying roller pair by the inter-line pitch, and an image is formed on the entire sheet P.
[0015]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Recently, paper used for printing has been diversified. For example, in addition to plain paper, coated paper, OHP (overhead projector) sheets, glossy paper, glossy films, and the like have been used. In particular, when a clear color image is to be obtained, a glossy film has been used.
[0016]
In such a situation, it has been found that the following problems occur when the above-described conventional paper feeding method is used.
[0017]
In the conventional paper feeding method described above, in the state shown in FIG. 2 (c), only the

[0021]
The object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems, to prevent a decrease in print quality on a paper (for example, a glossy film) with noticeable slip marks by a paper feed roller, and to feed other paper at a high speed. An object of the present invention is to provide a paper feeding method in an ink jet printer capable of paper.
[0022]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the paper feeding method in the ink jet printer according to the present invention includes a paper feeding roller that feeds the paper by just one rotation during the paper feeding operation, and clamps the paper fed by the paper feeding roller. A paper feed method in an ink jet printer comprising a pair of transport rollers for transporting and a print head for printing by discharging ink droplets on a paper transported by the pair of transport rollers,
First, the paper feed roller feeds the paper toward the transport roller pair that is stopped, and the front end of the paper is brought into contact with the pinching portion of the transport roller pair, and then the paper feed roller is aligned. The paper feed roller and the transport roller pair are rotated forward until the paper reaches the initial position to transport the paper, and then the transport roller pair is rotated until the leading edge of the paper reaches a predetermined position with respect to the print head. Paper feed mode,
First, the paper feed roller feeds the paper toward the forward-conveying pair of conveyance rollers, and after the leading edge of the paper has slightly passed the pinching portion of the conveyance roller pair, the paper feed roller is temporarily stopped. By reversing the transport roller pair and reversing the front end of the paper, the front end of the paper is aligned with the pinching portion of the transport roller pair to align the front end of the paper, and then the paper feed roller and the paper feed roller until the paper feed roller reaches the initial position. A second paper feed mode in which the pair of transport rollers is rotated forward to transport the paper, and then the transport roller pair is rotated until the leading edge of the paper reaches a predetermined position with respect to the print head;
When the paper is a paper that does not show a slip mark by a paper feed roller, the paper is fed in the first paper feed mode, and when the paper is a paper that has a noticeable slip mark by a paper feed roller. Is characterized in that paper is fed in the second paper feed mode.
[0023]
[Function and effect]
According to the paper feeding method of the ink jet printer of the present invention, when the paper is a paper with no noticeable slip marks, the paper is fed in the first paper feed mode, and the paper is a paper with noticeable slip marks. The paper is fed in the second paper feed mode.
[0024]
In the first paper feed mode, first, the paper is fed by the paper feed roller toward the stopped pair of transport rollers, and the front end of the paper is brought into contact with the pinching portion of the pair of transport rollers. Next, the paper feed roller and the transport roller pair are rotated forward until the paper feed roller reaches the initial position to transport the paper, and then the transport roller until the front end of the paper reaches a predetermined position with respect to the print head. Since this is a mode in which the pair is rotated, there is no reverse feeding operation when aligning the leading edge of the paper, which is essentially unnecessary.
[0025]
Accordingly, the paper is fed at a relatively high speed.
[0026]
On the other hand, in the second paper feed mode, first, the paper is fed by the paper feed roller toward the forward-conveying pair of transport rollers, and the front end of the paper slightly passes through the pinching portion of the pair of transport rollers. Thereafter, the paper feed roller is temporarily stopped and the conveyance roller pair is reversed to reversely feed the paper leading edge so that the paper leading edge is aligned with the pinching portion of the conveyance roller pair and then the paper feeding roller is aligned. In this mode, the paper feed roller and the transport roller pair are rotated forward until the paper reaches the initial position to transport the paper, and then the transport roller pair is reversed until the leading edge of the paper reaches a predetermined position with respect to the print head. When the leading edge of the paper is aligned, the paper feed roller is stopped, and even if the paper slips, the paper slips with respect to the paper feed roller, so that a slip mark is not concentrated on one part of the paper.
[0027]
Therefore, there is no deterioration in print quality on paper with slip marks that are easily noticeable.
[0028]
In other words, according to the paper feeding method of the present invention, it is possible to prevent a decrease in printing quality on a paper (for example, glossy film) on which slip marks are conspicuous, and it is possible to feed other paper at a high speed.
