ここで、電気回路基板は水没しても乾燥させれば再度使用することが可能であるが、従来では水没後、漏電遮断器が動作するまでの間、電気回路基板には電源が供給され続けるため、基板に取り付けられた電装部品は電食してしまう。係る電食が発生すると、電気回路基板は乾燥させても使用不可能となる問題があった。

本発明の保護装置は、本体底部に電気回路基板を備えた自動販売機に適用され、電気回路基板と電源間に介設された漏電遮断器を備え、この漏電遮断器の一方の入力と他方の出力からリード線を引き出し、引き出した各リード線の先端を電気回路基板より低い位置に配置したものである。
