本発明は、紙ホッチキス用紙に印字する印字装置に係り、更に詳しくは印字ヘッドのリボンセパレータのヘッドピン穴が紙ホッチキスの凸部に引っ掛かり、用紙が破損するのを防止する機構を備えた印字装置に関する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記の如く1行の印字を行った後、印字ヘッドがプラテンの左端側あるいは右端側に停止してた場合、次の改行動作を行うに際して印字用紙の左側又は右側が上述の紙ホッチキスによって綴じられていれば、LF、FF動作、リバースLF、FF動作等において、印字ヘッドとプラテンとの間隙が非常に狭いためヘッドピン穴10の縁と紙ホッチキス11の切り込み片の出っ張りとが引っ掛かる。その結果リバースLF、FF動作においては、印字用紙に大きなジャムを起こすことになる。よって印字品質を損なうだけでなく改めて印字用紙をセットしなおさなければならず、印字処理作業も煩雑となる等多くの課題を呈していた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記の問題点を解消すべくなされたもので、請求項1に係る装置は、複数枚の用紙を重ねて紙ホッチキスで綴じ1枚の用紙にした印字用紙を印字ヘッドとプラテンの間に用紙搬送手段で搬送し、該印字ヘッドのピンを該印字用紙に打ちつけて印字する印字装置において、前記用紙側端部の前記紙ホッチキス部の出っ張りを挟んで押圧する紙ホッチキス部押圧機構を印字ヘッドの上流側に設けた。

図中、15は可動ローラである。可動ローラ15は印字ヘッド6で印字する直前の位置にプラテン4と平行させて設けている。16は従動ローラである。従動ローラ16は用紙1を間にして前記可動ローラ15に対向する位置に配置されている。前記従動ローラ16の軸芯(図2参照)は図示しない装置の両側板に固定し、従動ローラのみが該軸芯を中心に回動可能に設けられている。17はリンク機構である。リンク機構17はプラテン4の回転に同期して前記可動ローラ15をプラテン4と同一方向に回転させるタイミングベルトあるいはギヤを組み合わせて連動させたもの等からなる。18は付勢手段である。付勢手段18はソレノイドまたはスプリングバネ等からなり、印字時に印字ヘッド6とプラテン4との間隙を一定に保持しつつ可動ローラ15のみを従動ローラ16に押し当てる。

本発明の一実施例のインパクト型の印字装置においては、図1に示すように、印字用紙をオートロード(用紙自動装填)を行って印字の準備を行い、(オートロード時は、印字ヘッドとプラテンとの間隙を広く設定して用紙の先頭が印字ヘッドに当たって用紙ジャムが発生しないようにしている。)印字用紙1がセットされて印字が可能になった時点で印字開始を指示すると、図示しない制御装置でソレノイド18を駆動させて可動ローラ15を押し上げ、印字用紙1を従動ローラ16に押し当てる。続いて、印字を開始し、印字ヘッド6をプラテン4の長手方向に高速に往復移動させるとともに、図示しない駆動装置を駆動させてヘッドピン7(図4参照)を高速に打ち出し、インクリボン8を印字用紙1に当てて印字を行い、続いて次行の印字を行う為のLF動作や、FF動作を行うために下トラクタ3と上トラクタ5とを駆動して印字用紙を搬送し、同時にプラテン4を回転させる。プラテン4の回転にリンクされている可動ローラ15も同時に同一方向に回転する。

このとき、従動ローラ16は前記可動ローラ15で用紙1を押し付けられているため前記用紙1の移動とともに該用紙との摩擦により従動して回転する。このため印字用紙1の紙ホッチキス部の櫛歯状の切り込みの出っ張りは、前記可動ローラ15と従動ローラ16とで該ローラを回転させながら該出っ張りを元の切り込みに埋め戻すように押しこまれるため、出っ張りがなくなって用紙の厚みが略一定になる。

図中、28は可動ローラ軸である。可動ローラ軸28は該軸の両端を図示しない用紙搬送手段の側板に、その側板に設けた長円形の切り欠きにベアリング軸受け等で回転可能に係止され、そのベアリング軸受けが前記長円形の切り欠きに沿って上下に移動可能になっている。25は円周面の幅が20ミリ程度に分割された円筒状の可動ローラで、金具33に係止され、前記可動ローラ軸28に金具33と共に滑動可能に挿通されている。そして、該軸の回転方向にはロックされて軸の回転と同一方向に回転するように設けられている。また、金具33にはソレノイド18が係止されており、用紙を押圧する場合は、該ソレノイド18に通電して、該ソレノイドに設けたリンク軸で金具33を持ち上げ、金具33に係止された可動ローラ25を前記従動ローラ16に押し当てる。また反対に押圧を解除する場合は、可動ローラ25を従動ローラ16から分離させるためにソレノイド18の通電を停止させ、金具33を下げて前記ローラを離間させる。

つぎに、図中27はプラテン4を回転させるための駆動モータである。17はプラテン4と前記可動ローラ軸28とを同一方向に回転させるリンク機構であるタイミングベルトである。モータ27はタイミングベルト17を通して可動ローラ25をプラテン4と同一方向に回転させる。

つぎに、図中29は用紙搬送用のモータである。30は下トラクタ回転軸、32は上トラクタ回転軸である。該両軸も、前記可動ローラ軸28と同様にそれぞれ軸の両端を図示しない用紙搬送手段の側板にベアリング軸受け等にて回転可能に係止されている。31は前記上下トラクタの回転を連動させるタイミングベルトである。38は上下の4つのトラクタ3、3、5、5を係止する連結金具である。連結金具38は、33、34、35、36からなる各金具をピン37でそれぞれ折り曲げ自在に連結し左右一対設けている。金具33には前記可動ローラ軸28と下トラクタ回転軸30とが挿通され、連結金具の他端の金具36には上トラクタ5を挿通した上トラクタ回転軸32が挿通されている。このように、下トラクタ3と上トラクタ5と可動ローラ25は連結金具38に一体的に構成されている。本連結金具38は折れ曲がりしない一体ものでも良いが、可動ローラのみを上下させる方が全体を上下させるより小さな駆動力で済む利点がある。

つぎに、前記用紙のスプロケット穴を左右の下トラクタ3のピンに掛けて用紙を下トラクタ3にセットした後、図示しない操作パネルのオートロードスイッチを押す。すると、その後は図示しない制御装置の指令に基づいて自動で印字用紙がプラテンを通過し、続いて上トラクタ5に係止して装置への設定が終了する。続いて印刷が開始され、用紙の改行の度に下トラクタ3で搬送された用紙1は紙ホッチキス部のみを可動ローラと従動ローラとで押圧されて紙ホッチキス部の凸部が押しつぶされた状態でプラテン4へと移動し、その位置で印字が行われる。なお、印字時の作用は前記実施例で説明した場合と同じであるため詳細な説明を省略する。

以上の説明から明らかなように本発明によれば、印字ヘッドが用紙の紙ホッチキス部上を左右に通過しても、紙ホッチキス部の短冊がリボンセパレータのヘッドピン穴に引っ掛からず、従って、用紙破れ障害を防止できる。
