本発明は自動車のシール構造に関し、詳しくはサイドドアのサッシュ部とフロントピラーの間をウェザーストリップでシールした構造に関する。

【従来の技術】
図9に示す自動車では、フロントピラーaとサイドドアgのサッシュ部bの間のシールは、図8に示すような構造で行っている。すなわち、フロントピラーaに係止部材cを溶接接合し、フロントピラーaにウィンドウモールdをビスeで固定してから、係止部材cにウェザーストリップfを嵌着させている。そして、サイドドアgの閉止時には、ウェザーストリップfの中空リップhがウィンドウモールdとサイドドアgのサッシュ部bの側縁に密着するとともに、リップiがサッシュ部bの裏面の側縁よりもやや外側に密着するようにしてある(この類似構造は、例えば特開平6−122348号に示されている)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、この構造では、ウェザーストリップfの装着にあたって、係止部材cの先端にウェザーストリップfの係止溝jを全長に亘って係合させていかなければならず、作業性が極めて悪かった。また、予めフロントピラーaに係止部材cを設置しておく必要があるため、部品点数と組立工数が嵩むという欠点もあった。 本発明はこのような事情に鑑み、ウェザーストリップの装着が容易で、部品点数と組立工数が削減できる自動車のシール構造を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するための本発明は、フロントピラーにウェザーストリップを装着してサイドドアのサッシュ部との間をシールしてなる構造において、上記ウェザーストリップは、コアプレートの一端にリップとウィンドウモールを一体成形するとともに、該リップから上記コアプレートの中間部にかけて延出部を設け、上記コアプレートの他端にリップ状の被覆部材を一体成形し、該被覆部材に係合部を設ける一方、該係合部と係合可能な被係合部を上記延出部に設け、上記コアプレートの被覆部材側の端部をフロントピラーにネジ結合したことを特徴とする。

かかる構成によれば、リップ状の被覆部材を外側へ開いて、コアプレートの被覆部材側の端部をフロントピラーにネジ結合してから、被覆部材を内側に押圧してその係合部を延出部の被係合部に係合させるだけで、ウェザーストリップをフロントピラーに装着することができる。サイドドアの閉止時には、リップがサイドドアのサッシュ部の側縁に密着する。

図1に本発明に係る自動車のシール構造の第1実施例を示す。

同図において、1はフロントピラーで、インナーパネル2とアウターパネル3の接合フランジ2a,3aにレインホース4を挟み込んで溶接接合してある。5はサイドのドアサッシュ部で、アウターパネル6とインナーパネル7の側縁をヘミング加工で接合してある。

8はウェザーストリップで、コアプレート9の両端に中空のリップ10、リップ状の被覆部材11をそれぞれ一体成形してある。被覆部材11の先端には他のリップ11aを形成してある。また、コアプレート9の表面には、リップ10から中間部にかけて延出部12が一体成形してあり、その先端に被係合部13を形成してある。また、被覆部材11は外側に向かって凸に湾曲させてあり、その中間部裏面に係合部14を形成してある。そして、コアプレート9の被覆部材11側の端部をビス15でフロントピラー1のアウターパネル3に固定してある。

コアプレート9のリップ10側の端部裏面には、ウィンドウモール16が一体成形してあり、該ウィンドウモール16のシール舌片17をフロントウィンドウガラス18に密着させている。ところで、フロントピラー1の接合フランジ2a,3aは、下方にいくにしたがって前方への突出量を徐々に小さくして、サイドドアのサッシュ部5との隙間を徐々に大きくしてある(図1、図2参照)。このため、ウィンドウモール16の肉厚は、フロントウィンドウガラス18とサッシュ部5の段差に対応して、下方にいくにしたがって徐々に厚くなっている。これによって、フロントウィンドウガラス18に降った雨水が、サイドドア側に流れないようにするレインガードの役割を果たしている。

ウェザーストリップ8は延出部12とウィンドウモール16を硬質ゴムまたは硬質樹脂材で、リップ10、被覆部材11とシール舌片17を軟質ゴムまたは発泡ゴム、軟質樹脂材でそれぞれ成形してある。なお、被覆部材11は係合部14の付近のみ硬質材で成形してある。

ウェザーストリップ8のフロントピラー1への装着にあたっては、まずウェザーストリップ8の被覆部材11を外側へ開いて、コアプレート9の被覆部材11側の端部をフロントピラー1にネジ結合してから、被覆部材11を内側へ押圧してその係合部14を延出部材12の被係合部13に係合させる。サイドドアの閉止時には、リップ10がサイドドアのサッシュ部5の側縁に密着するとともに、被覆部材11の他のリップ11aがサイドドアのサッシュ部5の裏面で側縁よりもやや外側に密着して、フロントピラー1とサイドドアのサッシュ部5の間をシールする。また、サイドドアのサッシュ部5、リップ10、延出部12、被覆部材11と他のリップ11aによってドレーン30が形成される。

本実施例では、サイドドアの閉止方向で被覆部材11の係合部14が延出部12の被係合部13と係合するようにしてあるので、被覆部材11の係合が外れることはない。また、ビス15の頭部を被覆部材11で覆ってあるので、体裁も良い。

図3はウェザーストリップ8のルーフ端への装着状態を示している。ウェザーストリップ8のルーフ装着部8Aは、ドリップチャンネル19に装着するウェルト部20から2つのリップ21,22を延出させるとともに、これらリップ21,22を注入成形部23を介してフロントピラー装着部8Bのリップ10、被覆部材11にそれぞれ連結してある(図4参照)。

ところで、この注入成形部23は軟質ゴムで成形してあるため、剛性が小さく、シール性が損なわれる虞れがある。そこで、ウェザーストリップ8のフロントピラー装着部8Bの端面からコアプレート9の舌片24を突出させておき、該舌片24を注入成形部23の内側のリップ25と一体化させることで、注入成形部23の剛性を確保している。なお、コアプレート9の舌片24は、ウェザーストリップ8のフロントピラー装着部8Bを成形後、所定の長さに切断する際に、その切断面から突出させることで形成すればよい。

本実施例では、コアプレート9の中間部に段部9’を設け、該段部9’から外側に延出部12’を突出させてある。延出部12’の先端に他のリップ11aと被係合部13’を一体成形してある。また、該被係合部13’と係合可能な係合部14’を被覆部材11の先端に形成するとともに、被覆部材11の基端部にノッチ31を形成して屈曲性を付与している。サイドドアのサッシュ部5、リップ10、延出部12と他のリップ11aによってドレーン30が形成される。その他の部材は上述の実施例と同様に構成してあるので、同一符号を付し説明を省略する。

【発明の効果】
請求項1の本発明によれば、ウェザーストリップの被覆部材を外側へ開いて、コアプレートの被覆部材側の端部をフロントピラーにネジ結合してから、被覆部材を内側へ押圧してその係合部をコアプレートの被係合部に係合させるだけで、ウェザーストリップをフロントピラーに装着することができ、ウェザーストリップの装着作業が楽になる。

The present invention for solving the above-mentioned problem is directed to a structure in which a weather strip is mounted on a front pillar and a gap between the front pillar and a sash portion of a side door is sealed.
