本発明は、さまざまな形の欠損がある歯列に義歯を補綴する際のイメージデータを表現する装置等に関する。

【従来の技術】
歯科治療においては、欠損(いわゆる歯が抜けている状態)を治療する補綴が行われることがある。補綴には、インプラントやブリッジといった義歯を使用する治療法がある。

ここで、歯の欠損部位に対して義歯を製作する場合、装着後のイメージをコンピュータのディスプレイ上に表現すると、義歯の製作などに有益である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、歯列の欠損状態には、上顎でおよそ65536症例、下顎も同数の症例があるため、およそ13万症例あることになる。このように症例が多いのは、歯の抜ける本数が、1本、2本、3本…と多様だからである。

ここで、13万症例の各々の症例に対応したイメージデータを作成しておいて表示することは、イメージデータ作成の労力が過大であり、実用的ではない。

そこで、本発明は、さまざまな形の欠損がある歯列に義歯を補綴する際のイメージデータを効率良く表示する装置等の提供を課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題に鑑み、請求項1に記載の発明は、歯列の全ての部位に義歯がはめ込まれた総義歯イメージを表示する総義歯イメージ表示手段と、歯列のいずれの部位で歯が残存しているかを記録する残存歯記録手段と、残存歯記録手段から歯が残存する歯残存位置を読み出し、前記総義歯イメージにおける前記歯残存位置のイメージを残存歯イメージに変換する残存歯表示手段と、を備えるように構成される。

上記のように構成された義歯補綴イメージ表示装置によれば、総義歯イメージ1種類と、残存歯イメージ32種類(歯が上顎16本、下顎16本)のイメージデータがあれば、あらゆる義歯補綴イメージを表示できる。よって、13万種類のイメージパターンを作成する労力が不要であり、さまざまな形の欠損がある歯列に義歯を補綴する際のイメージデータを効率良く表示できる。

第一の実施形態
まず、第一の実施形態の構成を説明する。第一の実施形態の義歯補綴イメージ表示装置1は、図1に示すように、総義歯イメージ表示部10、残存歯記録部12、残存歯表示部14を備える。

総義歯イメージ表示部10は歯列の全ての部位に義歯がはめ込まれた総義歯イメージを表示する。総義歯イメージ表示部10は、総義歯イメージを記録しているが、それは1種類記録しておけばよい。

残存歯記録部12は歯列のいずれの部位で歯が残存しているかを記録する。残存歯表示部14は残存歯記録部12から歯が残存する歯残存位置を読み出し、総義歯イメージにおける歯残存位置のイメージを残存歯イメージに変換し、ユーザに表示する。「変換」とは、例えば、義歯イメージに残存歯イメージを重ね合わせるようなものであってもよいし、義歯イメージを削除して残存歯イメージを表示するようなものであってもよい。残存歯表示部14は、各部位における残存歯のイメージを記録している。歯は上顎16本、下顎16本はえているので、残存歯イメージは32種類記録しておけばよい。

次に、第一の実施形態の動作を図2を用いて説明する。図2(a)は、総義歯イメージ表示部10が表示する総義歯イメージである。なお、上顎のみを示し、下顎は図示省略してある。残存歯表示部14は、残存歯記録部12から歯が残存する歯残存位置を読み出す。そして、歯残存位置に対応する残存歯のイメージを図2(b)のように生成する。さらに、残存歯のイメージ(図2(b)参照)を、総義歯イメージ(図2(a)参照)を重ねることで、総義歯イメージにおける歯残存位置のイメージを残存歯イメージに変換し(図2(c)参照)、ユーザに表示する。あるいは、残存歯のイメージ(図2(b)参照)が存在する部位の義歯イメージを削除して、残存歯のイメージを表示する。

第二の実施形態にかかる義歯補綴イメージ表示装置は、残存歯記録部12に記録されている歯残存位置のデータが特に電子化に適したものになっているので第一の実施形態をさらに改良したものとなっている。

残存歯記録部12に記録されている歯残存位置のデータの形式を図3を用いて説明する。図3(a)に示すように上顎を最も奥の歯から4本ずつ4区分(A〜D)に分け、未欠損を1、欠損を0と置きかえる(二値化欠損情報)。なお、下顎については全く同様なので、図示省略している。そして、例えば、Aは“0010”、Bは“0001”となる。次に、図3(b)に示すように、各区分ごとに、24=16進法で表記する(欠損情報コード)。なお、歯をn本ずつ区分した場合は、2n進法で表記する。そして、区分A、B、C、Dの順につなげて歯残存位置のデータを表記する(歯列欠損情報コード)。図3(b)の例でいえば、“2108”となる。

本発明の第二の実施形態によれば、残存歯記録部12が、歯の欠損本数の多様性に対応した歯列欠損情報コードを記録しているため、義歯補綴イメージ表示がさらに効率良く行える。しかも、欠損情報コードを16進法であらわせるため、コンピュータに通常用いられる16進法に合致し、歯列の欠損状態の電子化に適している。さらに、上顎と下顎の双方の顎には、共に歯が16本生えており、最も奥の歯から4本ごとにまとめて区分すれば、双方の顎が左右対称に区分される。

また、上記の第一および第二実施形態は、以下のようにして実現できる。CPU、ハードディスク、メディア(フロッピーディスク、CD−ROMなど)読み取り装置を備えたコンピュータのメディア読み取り装置に、上記の各部分を実現するプログラムを記録したメディアを読み取らせて、ハードディスクにインストールする。このような方法でも、上記の機能を実現できる。

本発明によれば、総義歯イメージ1種類と、残存歯イメージ32種類(歯が上顎16本、下顎16本)のイメージデータがあれば、あらゆる義歯補綴イメージを表示できる。よって、13万種類のイメージパターンを作成する労力が不要であり、さまざまな形の欠損がある歯列に義歯を補綴する際のイメージデータを効率良く表示できる。
