【発明の属する技術分野】
本各発明は、本体と吐水口とを有する吐水具に関する。

【従来の技術】
シャワーヘッド等の吐水具の中には、例えば、図5に示すように、一端側に頭部21と他端側に把持部22とを有する本体20を備え、前記頭部21内に、切換弁装置80若しくは浄水用カートリッジ等の種々の機器を収納したものがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、この種の吐水具10には以下のような問題点がある。即ち、この種の吐水具10においては、頭部21と把持部22とからなる本体20を樹脂等の一体成形品として構成することがある。そして、この本体20の一体成形の際には、本体20の外形や内部流路等が形成されると共に、頭部21内に各種機器を収納するための収納構造が形成されるのが一般的である。例えば、図例の場合には、この一体成形の際に、頭部21内に切換弁装置80を固定するためのピン83をインサートしたり、頭部21の側壁に切換弁装置80の操作部81を挿通させるための挿通孔82を形成すること等が同時に行われる。

従って、本体20の外形や内部流路等を屈曲状等の複雑形状とする場合には、型割、型抜等の都合により、上記収納構造を簡略化することが必要となり、各種機器を十分に堅固な状態にて収納できないことがある。逆に、この収納構造を優先すると、本体20の外形や内部流路の設計の自由度が損なわれ、吐水具10の意匠性や利便性を十分に確保できないことがある。従って、この種の吐水具10では、収納構造の設計の自由度と、本体20の設計の自由度とを同時に高めることは困難である。

また、各吐水具10において頭部21内に形成される収納構造は、特定の形状、構造、サイズ等を備えた機器のみに対応可能であり、多種、多様な機器に汎用的に対応することはできない。例えば、図5においては、この収納構造の形状、構造、サイズ等が、特定の切換弁装置80のみと合致するように定められている。従って、この収納構造を用いて、浄水用カートリッジ等の他の種類の機器を収納したり、図例の切換弁装置80と外形、構造、サイズ等が異なる他の切換弁装置を収納することは困難である。

さらに、この種の吐水具10では、頭部21内に各種機器を収納しないこと、換言すると、頭部21の内部空間をそのまま内部流路として利用すること、をそもそも予定していない。例えば、図例の吐水具10では、頭部21の側壁に上記挿通孔82を備えているため、頭部21の内部空間をそのまま内部流路として利用することができないばかりか、頭部21内に形成した収納構造が無駄となるからである。

一方、吐水具10の中には、頭部21の内部空間をそのまま内部流路として利用する他のタイプのものもある。この他のタイプの吐水具10では、そもそも頭部21内に機器を収納することを予定していないため、この頭部21内に機器を収納するだけの空き領域が存在しなかったり、頭部21の内部空間が機器を収納可能な形状、構造等を備えないのが一般的である。従って、この他のタイプの吐水具10に各種の機器を内蔵し、吐水態様の切換機能等の種々の機能を備えた吐水具10へと転用することも困難である。

以上のように、頭部21内に機器を収納するタイプの吐水具10においては、収納される機器を適宜、交換して、他の機能を備えた吐水具10等へと転用することが困難である。そして、頭部21内に機器を収納しないタイプの吐水具10においては、頭部内21に機器を収納するタイプの吐水具10として転用することが困難である。このように、従来の吐水具は、汎用性が低いという問題点を有している。

本各発明はこのような実状に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的とするところは、吐水具全体を通じた設計の自由度が高いと共に、汎用性等に優れた吐水具を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
以上の課題を解決するために、先ず、請求項1の発明が採った手段は、「本体と吐水口とを有する吐水具であって、前記本体とは別体の略容器状に形成されると共に本体内部に収納されて、前記吐水口に連通する内部流路を形成する内部流路部材を備えた吐水具であり、前記本体とは別体に形成され、本体内部に収納されると共に内部流路部材に接続されて、内部流路部材とで本体内部に通水路を形成する通水体を備え、前記本体は樹脂一体成形品であると共に、前記本体の表面にメッキが施されていることを特徴とする吐水具」である。

請求項1の発明では、各種の機器の収納構造を本体に対して直接、設けるのではなく、本体とは別体の内部流路部材に対して設けるため、この収納構造の設計の自由度と、本体の設計の自由度とを同時に高めることができる。従って、本体の外形等を複雑化して、吐水具としての意匠性や利便性を高めつつ、内部流路部材に対して複雑な収納構造を設け、各種機器を的確に収納することができる。特に、本発明では、内部流路部材を略容器状としてあるため、各種機器の収納構造については、内部流路部材の内部形状にて対応することができ、内部流路部材の外部形状は簡略化できる。このことから、内部流路部材を収納する本体の収納構造を簡略化することができ、その分、本体の外部形状のより一層の複雑化が可能となり、吐水具としての意匠性や利便性が確保し易くなる。

また、本発明の吐水具では、内部流路部材を略容器状とし、その内部に空き領域を確実に確保するため、この空き領域を各種機器の収納空間として用いることができるばかりか、この空き領域をそのまま内部流路として用いることができる。このため、本体内に機器を収納するタイプの吐水具としたり、機器を収納しないタイプの吐水具とすることが容易であり、吐水具としての汎用性を向上させることができる。

さらに、本発明の吐水具では、内部流路部材の外形や外郭寸法の同一性を確保すれば、この内部流路部材を、機器の収納構造の形状、構造、サイズ等が異なる他の内部流路部材と交換することができる。従って、内部流路部材の選択使用を通じて、同一の本体に種々の外形、構造、サイズを備えた機器を選択的に組み付けることが可能となる。このため、同一の本体を、種々の機能を備えた吐水具として汎用的に用いることもできる。

ここで、本発明の「吐水具」には、「シャワー吐水を行うシャワーヘッド」、「通常吐水を行う吐水ヘッド」、「口腔用や洗眼用の吐水ヘッド」等、湯や水の供給源に可撓性を有するホースを介して接続される吐水ヘッドの他に、湯水混合水栓、単水栓等の種々の水栓に一体的に設けられるカラン等も含まれる。尚、本発明の「吐水具」を吐水ヘッドとして用いる場合には、浴室、洗面所、流し台等に設置された水栓本体や別途の支持具より引き出し可能な「引き出しタイプ」や、浴室の壁面や洗面化粧台のキャビネット等に設けられた支持具に支持される取り回し可能な「取り回しタイプ」等の種々のタイプを選択することができる。

また、内部流路部材内に収納可能な機器としては、「止水機構」、「切換弁装置」、「水処理器用カートリッジ」、「通水によって音楽や環境音をかもし出す機器」等を例示できる。このうち、「止水機構」は、「吐止水の選択」、若しくは、「吐止水の選択と流量調節」等を行うものであり、例えば、「弁口とこの弁口方向に付勢されたボール状の弁体とを有し、弁体と弁口とを相対的に移動させて弁口の開閉を行うボール弁方式」、「互いに摺動して流路の開閉を行う固定弁と可動弁とを用いて構成される摺動弁方式」、「弁口に対して弁体を進退させて流路の開閉を行うリフト弁方式」等を例示できる。

「切換弁装置」は、「吐水流路の切換若しくは吐水態様の切換等」、又は、「これらの切換と共に、吐止水の選択若しくは流量調節のうちの少なくとも一方」等を行うものであり、ボール弁方式、摺動弁方式、リフト弁方式等の種々の方式のものを例示できる。尚、切換弁装置によって切り換えられる「吐水態様の組合せ」は種々選択可能であり、例えば、「大型吐水口より集中的に吐水させる集中吐水と多数の小型吐水口より分散状に吐水させる分散吐水との組合せ」、「泡まつを伴わない吐水と泡まつを伴う吐水との組合せ」、「大量吐水と少量吐水との組合せ」、「霧状のシャワーと通常のシャワー等の異なる態様のシャワー吐水の組合せ」等を例示できる。また、切換弁装置によって切り換えられる「吐水態様の数」も、2つ以上であれば特に問わない。

「水処理器用カートリッジ」としては、「水道水中よりカルキ分等の不要成分や、トリハロメタン等の有害成分を除去するための浄水用カートリッジ」、「水道水をアルカリイオン水、酸性イオン水、硬水、若しくは軟水に変換処理するための水質変換用カートリッジ」、「水道水にミネラル分等の有益な成分を添加する成分添加用カートリッジ」等を例示できる。

次に、請求項2の発明が採った手段は、「本体に対して固定されて吐水口を構成する吐水フェイスを備えたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吐水具」である。

請求項1の発明には、吐水フェイスを用いずに吐水口を構成したり、吐水フェイスを内部流路部材に対して固定する態様も含まれる。ここで、吐水フェイスを内部流路部材に対して固定する態様では、吐水フェイスの固定のための構造を内部流路部材に設けなければならない。内部流路部材は、そもそも、内部に各種の機器を収納可能な構造とされているため、加えて、吐水フェイスの固定構造も具備させると、内部流路部材全体が複雑化し、樹脂等による成形が困難となる虞がある。そこで、請求項2の発明では、吐水フェイスを本体に固定することで、内部流路部材の構造の簡略化を図ることができる。

また、切換弁装置、浄水カートリッジ等の各種機器には種々のサイズのものがある。特に、水処理器用カートリッジにおいては、その処理能力を向上させようとすると、大型化が余儀なくされる。しかし、このような大型の機器を用いると、機器全体を内部流路部材に収納することが困難となる場合がある。これに対して、請求項2の発明では、かかる大型の機器を用いる場合にも、内部流路部材に収納しきれない部分を収納できるような吐水フェイスに交換して本体に取り付ければ、大型の機器を積極的に使用することができる。しかも、本体ばかりか、内部流路部材をも、各種の吐水具の共通部品として使用することができる。

尚、請求項2の発明において、吐水フェイスと本体との固定方法は特に問わず、例えば、吐水フェイス自体の本体への螺合、ビス等を用いたネジ止め、接着等を例示できる。

次に、請求項3の発明が採った手段は、「本体と吐水フェイスとで内部流路部材を挟持固定したことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の吐水具」である。

請求項2及び3の発明においては、図5の従来例と同様に、本体20の雄ネジ部28に吐水フェイス61の雌ネジ部65を螺合させて、吐水フェイス61を本体20に固定することもできる。しかし、この態様では、本体20の雄ネジ部28を突出させなければならず、この突出した雄ネジ部28に螺着された吐水フェイス61は、当然、図5のD寸法の通り、本体20から大きく突出する。即ち、吐水フェイス61の形態は、把持部22の端末側下部29から大きく突出されることを余儀なくされる。このことから、吐水具としてのデザインの自由度が低下する。これに対して、請求項4の発明では、雌ネジ部が本体に設けられ、吐水フェイスを本体内部へと螺着するため、本体からの吐水フェイスの突出度合いを小さくすることが可能である。従って、請求項4の発明によると、吐水具としてのデザインの自由度を向上させることができる。

次に、請求項の発明が採った手段は、「本体とは別体に形成され、本体内部に収納されると共に内部流路部材に接続されて、内部流路部材とで本体内部に通水路を形成する通水体を備えたことを特徴とする吐水具」である。

請求項の発明では、本体内部の通水路を、内部流路部材の内部空間と通水体の内部空間とを用いて構成する。即ち、この通水路を、別ピースの部材の内部空間を組み合わせて構成するため、通水路の設計の自由度が更に向上する。しかも、この通水路を包囲する本体を、通水路とは切り離して形成可能なため、本体の設計の自由度が更に向上する。従って、請求項の発明によると、吐水具の意匠性や利便性を更に向上させることができる。

また、請求項の発明は、本体にメッキ処理を施す場合に特に好適に適用される。これは、湯水の供給源より熱湯が供給された場合でも、この熱湯は通水体と内部流路部材とを通過するため、この熱湯の熱が本体に直に伝達され難い。従って、本体の表面に施されたメッキが、熱湯の熱によって剥離する等の不具合を生じ難いからである。特に、本吐水具が、流し台や洗面台等に採用される吐水ヘッドである場合には、高温の湯を使用する頻度が高いため、請求項の発明は大きな意義を有することになる。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本各発明に係る「吐水具」の実施の形態を、図面に従って詳細に説明する。

先ず、図1及び図2を用いて、本各発明に係る吐水具10の一具体例を説明する。尚、本例では、吐水具10の一態様として浴室用水栓に対して設置されるシャワーヘッドを例示するが、本各発明の吐水具10は、キッチン用、洗面所用等の種々の水栓に対しても好適に設置できる。また、これらの水栓としては、「湯水混合水栓」のみならず、「予め調温された湯のみを扱う単水栓」、「水吐水を専ら行う単水栓」等の種々の水栓を選択できる。

本吐水具10は、外郭を構成する本体20と、内部流路部材30と、通水体40と、ジョイント50と、吐水フェイス61とを備えている。このうち、本体20は、中空屈曲状に成形された樹脂一体成形品にメッキ処理を施したものであり、頭部21と、把持部22とを備えている。また、吐水フェイス61は、吐水具10の吐水口を構成するものであり、具体的には、吐水フェイス61の表裏に貫通状に穿設された多数の散水口66が吐水口を構成する。このように、本例では、本体20として、頭部21と把持部22とが互いに屈曲するものを例示するが、本各発明の本体20は、直管状若しくは緩やかな湾曲状等の他の形態を備えてもよい

頭部21は、下面を開口部とする略筒容器状とされ、この開口部の内壁面に雌ネジ部24が設けられていると共に、この雌ネジ部24の上方に段部25が設けられている。また、把持部22は、使用者に把持される部分であり、略筒形状を備えている。また、本体20の基端部26の上側面が略横長矩形状に切り欠かれ、取付孔27を形成している。

内部流路部材30は、頭部21内に挿入可能な略容器状を有し、下面に開口部31を備えると共に、背面上方側に後述する通水体40との接続に関与する接続口33を開口させている。また、上方外壁面からの略十字状のリブ34を突出させると共に、開口部31寄りの外周面からは略リング状の鍔部35を突出させている。尚、本例では、開口部31を備えた略容器状の内部流路部材30を例示するが、この内部流路部材30を蓋付きの略容器状とし、その所定の面に湯水の排出口として機能する排出孔を設けることもできる。また、本例では、内部流路部材30に湯や水を導入するための接続口33を内部流路部材30の背面に設けたが、この接続口33の形成個所は特に問わず、内部流路部材30の背面、上方外壁面、各側面、及び前面等から選択される所望の一つ以上の面に設けることもできる。

この内部流路部材30は頭部21の開口部を通じて頭部21内に収納される。この際、リブ34を頭部21の上方内壁面に当接させ、内部流路部材30の接続口33を把持部22の内部空間と連通可能な状態とすると共に、鍔部35を段部25に当接する。そして、吐水フェイス61の雄ネジ部62を、頭部21の雌ネジ部24に螺合して、吐水フェイス61を頭部21に固定する。これにより、シール部材37を介して下方より押圧する吐水フェイス61の上端面63と、段部25とによって鍔部35が挟持され、内部流路部材30は頭部21内に固定される。即ち、本例では、請求項3の発明に従って、内部流路部材30を本体20と吐水フェイス61とで挟持固定するため、内部流路部材30や本体20に、取り付けのための複雑な構造を設ける必要がない。従って、内部流路部材30の外観構造及び本体20の内部構造の簡略化が図られている。

また、本例では、請求項4の発明に従って、吐水フェイス61の雄ネジ部62を頭部21の雌ネジ部24に螺合する固定方法を用いるため、把持部22の端末側下部29からの吐水フェイス61の突出量が少なくなっている。即ち、本例では、吐水フェイス61の上端面63が、端末側下部29よりも本体20の内部へと螺入されるため、吐水フェイス61の突出量が特に少なくなり、吐水フェイス61の下面が把持部22の下面よりも僅かに突出する程度とされており、これにより、本例の吐水具10の特有の意匠性が確保されている。尚、請求項1及び2の発明においては、内部流路部材30の固定方法は本例に限定されず、例えば、内部流路部材30を本体20に対して接着、螺合、係止等の種々の手法で固定したり、内部流路部材30を吐水フェイス60と一体化し、この一体品を本体20に対して接着、螺合、係止等の種々の手法で固定すること等もできる。

通水体40は、把持部22内に遊入可能な略筒形状を備え、その全長は把持部22の全長よりも若干短くなっている。また、一端側の外径を段差状に小さくして雄型の接続口41を構成すると共に、他端側の外径を段差状に大きくして雌型の接続口43を構成している。この通水体40は、雄型の接続口41を先頭に基端部26の開口部より把持部22内に遊入され、この接続口41を頭部21の接続口33に嵌入することにより、内部流路部材30に挿嵌接続されている。この際、挿嵌接続される両接続口41、33の間にはシール部材44が介在されるため、内部流路部材30及び通水体40間の水密状が確保される。このように、本例では、内部流路部材30及び通水体40間にシール構造を設けるため、外郭を構成する本体20と内部流路部材30及び通水体40との間には、敢えてシール構造を設けることを要しない。また、内部流路部材30と通水体40との接続方向は、把持部22への通水体40の挿入方向と20度程度の角度ずれが生じている。これにより、把持部22に挿入され内部流路部材30に接続された通水体40は、把持部22内にて回動することなく、堅固な位置決めがなされる。

ジョイント50は、シャワーホース等の湯水の供給管の端末部が接続される接続部53を、基端部26に設けるためのものである。このジョイント50は、屈曲状の短管を用いて構成され、屈曲部よりも一端側を基端部26に挿入可能な挿入部52とし、他端側を供給管の端末部が接続される接続部53としている。また、挿入部52の開口側の外周面には周回溝が設けられ、シール部材57がはめ込まれている。さらに、接続部53の外周面には、供給管の端末部との螺合接続に関与する雄ネジ部59が刻設されている。尚、本例では、接続部53を雄型とし、供給管の端末部を雌型とする態様を例示するが、これらの雌雄を逆転してもよい。また、接続部53と供給管の端末部との接続方法は、本例の螺合接続に限定されず、例えば、雌型のカプラーと、これに嵌入される雄型のプラグとを用いて構成されるもの等であってもよい。

このジョイント50においては、その挿入部52が基端部26内に挿入され、挿入部52の挿入始端側が通水体40の雌側の接続口43に嵌入される。これにより、ジョイント50は通水体40に対してシール部材57を介して水密状に接続される。このように、本例では、ジョイント50を通水体40に接続し、これらの接続部分にシールを施すため、この接続部分以外の個所、例えば、取付孔27と、後述する固定部材60との間にシールを施す必要がない。従って、ジョイント50と本体20との間のシール構造を簡略化できる。

このジョイント50の接続が完了すると、ジョイント50の抜け止め固定が行われる。具体的には、取付孔27に略クリップ状の固定部材60を嵌合し、この固定部材60の係止部(図示を省略)を、ジョイント50の被係止部(図示を省略)に係止して、ジョイント50が抜け止め固定される。但し、ジョイント50の固定方法は本例に限定されない。例えば、ジョイント50を基端部26にビス止め固定してもよいし、挿入部52若しくは基端部26の一方の雄ネジと他方の雌ネジとを螺合したり、挿入部52と基端部26とを超音波溶融若しくは接着剤等を用いて接着固定することもできる。さらに、基端部26自体に接続部53を一体的に設け、このジョイント50の使用を省略することもできる。尚、本例では、固定部材60の表面が本体10の側面に露呈するが、この表面を別途の部材で隠蔽してもよいし、この表面を「銘板」や「飾り」等として積極的に利用してもよい。

また、本吐水具10では、その通水路が、頭部21及び把持部22の境界と、基端部26のジョイント50部分とで屈曲している。このように、複数の屈曲部を有する通水路を備えた吐水具10は、意匠性と、利便性が高くなるが、このような通水路を備えたものを一体成形により作製することは容易ではない。しかし、本例では、内部流路部材30と、通水体40と、ジョイント50とを別体とし、これら三者を屈曲状に接続して、この屈曲状の通水路を形成するため、このような意匠性と利便性が高い吐水具10を得ることが容易である。また、本例では、内部流路部材30と通水体40との間、及び、通水体40とジョイント50との間に各々シールを施すだけで、吐水具10全体のシールを完了するため、吐水具10のシール構造の単純化が図られている。

次に、本吐水具10の使用例を説明する。本吐水具10において、頭部21内に機器を収納しない場合には、図1の第1の使用例に示すように、内部流路部材30内を空き領域とし、そのまま内部流路として用いればよい。一方、頭部21内に機器を収納する場合には、一端、吐水フェイス61を取り外し、内部流路部材30内に所望の機器を収納した後に、吐水フェイス61と頭部21とで、この内部流路部材30を挟持固定すればよい。

また、この収納される機器が、例えば、止水機構や切換弁装置のように、所定の操作部によって操作されるものである場合には、この操作部の露呈個所は種々選択できる。但し、本各発明においては、図3(a)の第2の使用例のように、吐水フェイス61を用いて、この操作部を構成することが好適である。即ち、この第2の使用例においては、例えば、「ボール弁方式等の止水機構や切換機構」等を内部流路部材30に収納する態様を例示している。この態様では、操作部を兼ねる吐水フェイス61を、その軸心周りに回動させると、止水機構や切換機構の弁装置が駆動されて流路の開閉や切換がなされる。このように、元々、頭部21外へと露呈する吐水フェイス61を操作部として用いれば、内部流路部材30や頭部21に対して操作部の取付構造を付加する必要がないため、内部流路部材30や頭部21の構造の更なる単純化や、汎用性の更なる向上を図ることができる。
