従来、一体形ビデオカメラにおいて、静止画と動画とを記録・再生し得るものが提案されている。この種の一体形ビデオカメラの一例としては、8mmビデオフォーマットのPCM領域に静止画を分割して記録するものを挙げることができる。この場合の記録は、動画及び静止画領域に表査線が525本の信号をそれぞれ記録するものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述の如き従来技術においては、静止画であっても動画と同様の撮像素子を用いている。すなわち、静止画用としては画素数が少なく、この結果静止画の画質はあまり良いものが得られない。

一方、画素数が従来より多い撮像素子を用いたとしても記録方式全体の仕様を変えない限り画質の向上は然程望めない。NTSC方式の表査線数は525本であり、この数に規制されて画素数も殆んど決定されているに等しいからである。

本発明は、上記従来技術に鑑み、動画は従来と同程度の画素数で記録するとともに、静止画は動画よりも高画質のものを従来の記録方式の仕様を変えることなく得ることができる静止画及び動画記録用の一体形ビデオカメラ及び再生装置を提供することを目的とする。

上記目的を達成する第1の発明の構成は、
