Further, the tape core wire has four single core wires, and has a cross-sectional thickness of about 0.4 mm and a width of 1.1 mm.
It is an extremely thin and thin tape-like object, and it should be handled with care, such as avoiding bending with a radius of curvature of 30 mm or less, so as not to damage the internal single core wire or deteriorate the transmission characteristics of the glass fiber. Great care must be taken.

At the end of the tape core wire, when the inner single core wire is to be taken out from the tape core wire and an operation for attaching an optical connector or the like is to be performed, it is necessary to remove the collective coating from the tape core wire. When removing the batch coating, carefully cut the batch coating with a knife or the like, or attach another strong tape on the tape core wire with an adhesive and pull the tape to remove the batch coating. There is a method to scrape the collective coating one by one using a planer tool.

Since the method of using a knife or a planer-shaped tool uses a cutting tool, a single core wire is damaged by the cutting edge unless careful attention is paid to the cutting edge of the cutting tool. Is easy to happen. Especially when the length to remove the collective coating becomes as long as several tens of cm,
The danger is great.

[0006] Further, the method of sticking the tape on the collective coating and peeling it off does not use a knife, but since the attached tape is pulled in the direction away from the tape core wire, the tape core wire is bent at that time, and the single core wire is bent. It may give an extreme bend to the wire and deteriorate the transmission characteristics of the glass fiber. Also,
The adhesive adheres to the fingers, the surface of the tape core wire, etc., and it takes time to clean it. Furthermore, the time required for curing the adhesive is also required, which becomes the waiting time for the work.

In the example of FIG. 1, first, at the end of the tape core wire 5, the collective coating 4 on both sides of the tape is scraped off by a collective coating scraping means such as a planer for a length of about 5 mm to 20 mm. Then, although the collective coating 4 partially remains on both side edge portions at that portion, the collective coating on the wide surface is scraped off, and four single-core wires 3 are exposed to form an exposed portion. In the exposed portion, of the four single-core wires 3, the two single-core wires in the intermediate position are slightly raised so that the two in the intermediate position and the two on both side edges are V in the thickness direction of the tape core wire. Divide into letters. Then, the tearing member 6 is inserted into the divided V-shaped gap of the single core wire from a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the tape core wire 5.

The tear member 6 has an outer diameter of 0.5.
It is possible to use a round bar having a thickness of about 1 mm, a plate having a thickness of about 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm and rounded side edges, a thread such as nylon, or the like. Further, as the material of the tear member, metal, plastic or the like can be used. For materials that do not easily bend, such as metal rods and hard plastic plates, you can fix it by supporting one side, but if it is easy to bend in the longitudinal direction like a thread, fix both ends.

After that, the tape core wire is pushed toward the tearing member 6 in the end direction, or the exposed single core wire which is the end side of the tape core wire is pulled in a direction away from the tearing member 6. Then, the tearing member 6 moves in the longitudinal direction of the tape core wire while biting between the two single core wires at the intermediate position and the two single core wires on both side edges, so that the V-shaped division is performed. Progresses in the longitudinal direction, the collective coating 4 is torn in the longitudinal direction. The separation length of the single core wire is often several tens of cm, but the tape core wire is pushed or pulled with respect to the tearing member by a required length to tear the collective coating. 2A and 2B are views showing a state in which the tearing is performed, FIG. 2A is a side view, and FIG. 2B is a cross-sectional view in the X direction.

Finally, although not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the tearing member 6 is removed, and the collective coating adhered to the single core wire at the torn portion is removed and removed by a method described later. For example, it is possible to form a separation part in which the single core wire is separated into four. In addition, since there is a possibility that the single core wire is scratched by the blade of the planer or the like at the part where the collective coating is shaved off with the planer or the like first, the part is cut and removed.

Further, in the above description, an example in which the single core wire at the intermediate position and the single core wires at both side edges are divided has been described, but the single core wire included in the tape core wire is eight. , 12 and so on, there is no need for the same number of single core wires at the intermediate position and at both side edges. When the total number is eight, four intermediate positions and four side edge portions may be used, or six intermediate positions and two side edge portions may be used. In the separating part, the collective coating attached to the single-core wires on both side edges is attached so as to enclose the single-core wires on both side edges. It is desirable to divide all the core wires.

Also, an example has been shown in which the first collective coating of the tape core wire is scraped off by the planer on both sides of the tape, but it is sufficient if only the single core wire to be divided in the middle can be raised in a V shape. Therefore, the scraped surface may be a single surface, or may be a method of scraping so as to expose only the portion of the single core wire at the intermediate position.
