2. Description of the Related Art Generally, a piezoelectric vibrating gyro belongs to a gyroscope which utilizes a mechanical phenomenon that a Coriolis force is generated in a direction perpendicular to a vibrating direction when a rotating angular velocity is applied to a vibrating object. In this gyroscope, in a vibrating system configured to be capable of exciting and detecting in two directions that are orthogonal to each other, in the state where one vibration is excited, the vibrator itself becomes a line where two vibrating surfaces intersect. When rotating about a parallel axis as a central axis, a force acts in a direction perpendicular to this vibration due to the action of the above-mentioned Coriolis force, and the other vibration is excited. Since the magnitude of this vibration is proportional to the magnitude of the vibration on the input side and the rotation angular velocity, the magnitude of the rotation angular velocity can be obtained from the magnitude of the output voltage when the input voltage is constant.

In the case of the above-mentioned piezoelectric vibrator, the soldering position (solder portion) of the lead wire is arranged over the entire circumference of the side surface of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic, and the solder portion is arranged on the nodal line of bending vibration. Because of this structure, it is impossible to mount, support and fix the piezoelectric vibrator unless each lead wire is soldered to each strip electrode in advance (in other words, after supporting and fixing the piezoelectric vibrator, each strip electrode is fixed). However, it is not possible to solder each lead wire).

Also, when the piezoelectric vibrator is mounted and fixed after soldering the lead wires to the strip electrodes, disconnection of the lead wires and accompanying damage to the solder portion and the strip electrodes may occur. Careful handling is required so that it does not occur. Therefore, the conventional piezoelectric vibrating gyroscope has a drawback that the assembling work cannot be performed easily and the assembling work efficiency is poor. In short, due to such problems, it is difficult to obtain a piezoelectric vibrating gyro having good gyro characteristics at present.

When the lead wires are soldered to the respective connection parts and then the piezoelectric vibrator is mounted and supported and fixed, the respective connection parts and the respective lead wires are placed on the upper half of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic 1. Therefore, the breakage of the lead wire and the damage of the solder portion and each strip-shaped electrode accompanying the breakage of the lead wire basically do not occur. Therefore, the handling at the time of mounting, supporting and fixing the piezoelectric vibrator becomes easy.

As described above, according to the present invention, a vibrator for a piezoelectric vibrating gyroscope in which a plurality of strip electrodes parallel to the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic. In a piezoelectric vibrating gyroscope using, a connecting portion for extracting a lead wire for driving / detecting and grounding is connected to the strip electrode by extending in the outer peripheral surface without passing through the end face of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramics, Since the connecting portion is formed in one half region of the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic, and the other half of the outer peripheral surface where the connecting portion does not exist is supported and fixed, each lead electrode is previously attached to each lead electrode. It becomes possible to easily attach, support and fix the piezoelectric vibrator and assemble the piezoelectric vibrator regardless of whether or not the wire is connected. Further, when mounting, supporting and fixing the piezoelectric vibrator, each connecting portion and each lead wire may be placed on the upper half of the cylindrical piezoelectric ceramics and the lower half may be supported and fixed. Basically, the solder portion and each strip-shaped electrode are not damaged, and variations in gyro characteristics due to attachment of lead wires can be suppressed to be small. Furthermore, since it is possible to attach the lead wire after supporting and fixing the piezoelectric vibrator, if a mass-producible lead attachment method such as wire bonding is adopted, the assembly workability when constructing the piezoelectric vibration gyro is greatly improved. As a result, a piezoelectric vibrating gyro with excellent characteristics can be easily obtained.
