The panel-mounting connector 1 is formed of a synthetic resin material. A flexible locking piece 3 is provided on an upper surface of a hood section 2 having a rectangular cross section provided at one end, and a locking piece 3 is provided at an end thereof. A protrusion 3a is provided. Further, a flange 4 is provided on a peripheral surface of the hood portion 2 excluding the lock pieces 3, and a lower surface side protruding portion is provided on a lower surface of the hood portion 2 on a side ahead of the flange 4 as shown in FIG. 9. 5 are provided. On the other hand, the door panel 9 has a through hole 9a.
Are formed by press stamping.

When attaching the panel-mountable connector 1 to the panel 9, as shown in FIG. 9, the entire connector is slanted so that the lower surface side projection 5 is engaged with the lower side edge of the through hole 9a. The lock piece 3 is pushed into the through hole 9a by rotating around the locking portion. Then, the lock protrusion 3a is pushed in by the edge of the through hole 9a, and is restored after penetrating the lock protrusion 3a and locked to the edge of the through hole 9a. Thus, the panel-mounted connector 1 is mounted on the panel 9.

However, burrs may be generated at the edges of the through holes 9a by press working. As shown in FIG. 10, when the burr (symbol B in the figure) protrudes toward the side where the panel-mounting connector is inserted, the burr is formed in the process of engaging the lock protrusion 3a with the edge of the through hole 9a. B may stick into the lock projection 3a, making it difficult to mount the panel-mount connector.

As a countermeasure, there is a thought that it is only necessary to restrict the punching direction of the panel so that the burrs protrude in the direction opposite to the insertion direction of the panel mounting type connector. The design constraints of the press increase, and it is not possible to determine the punching direction of the press just for the convenience of mounting the panel mount connector.

<Invention of claim 1> According to the structure of claim 1, when the connector is mounted on the panel, the forcible operating portion is pressed to bend and deform the lock piece. As a result, the hood can be inserted into the through hole without bringing the locking projection into contact with the edge of the through hole. When the pressing operation is released with the hood completely inserted, the lock piece is restored. As a result, the locking projection is prevented from falling off at the edge of the through hole, and the panel-mounted connector is mounted on the panel.

In the lock piece 13, the locking projection 14
An operation projection 15 (corresponding to the “forced operation section” of the present invention) for forcibly pushing down and deforming the lock piece 13 is formed further rearward. The front surface of the operation protrusion 15 in the insertion direction is a vertical surface facing the engagement protrusion 14 via a gap, and the rear surface is an operation inclined surface 15a. The operation inclined surface 15a is formed so that the back surface of the forcible operation portion is substantially along the normal direction of the rotation locus of the lock piece. Therefore, when the operation inclined surface 15a is pressed vertically (see FIG. 4), the operation force generated at the base is effectively applied to the lock piece, and the lock piece 13 can be bent efficiently. Further, when the lock piece 13 is bent by pressing the operation inclined surface 15a, as shown in FIG.
Can enter the inside of the upper surface wall 12a from the surface position, and the hood portion 12 can be inserted into the through hole P1 without bringing the locking projection 14 into contact with the edge portion P2.

As shown in FIG. 2, a hooking projection 16 is formed on the lower surface side of the hood 12 at a position corresponding to the locking projection 14 in the insertion direction, and as shown in FIG. When the mold connector is mounted, it is engaged with the lower edge P3 of the through hole P1.

In the hood portion 12, the lock piece 1 described above is used.
As shown in FIG. 1, a flange 17 is formed on the peripheral surface excluding 3. The flange 17 is formed behind the locking projection 14 and the hooking projection 16 with a gap equal to the thickness of the panel P in the insertion direction, and the panel mounting connector 10 is inserted into the through hole P1. Then, the insertion position of the hood portion 12 is determined so as to face the edge of the through hole P1.

On the rear side of the hood portion 12 in the insertion direction,
As shown in FIG. 1, a terminal accommodating portion 18 into which a plurality of male terminal fittings (not shown) are inserted is connected, and tabs of the male terminal fittings project into the hood section 12. A retainer 19 is inserted into the terminal accommodating portion 18 from the upper surface side, and double locking of the male terminal fitting is achieved. However, the front surface of the operation projection 15 is located slightly behind the front surface of the flange 17.

On the other hand, the door panel P is formed by press working, and at this time, the through hole P1 is formed by punching out a press. The punch of this press is punched in a direction opposite to the direction in which the hood portion 12 is inserted into the through hole P1.

Next, the operation of the present embodiment will be described. As shown in FIG. 3, the worker inserts the lower side of the panel-mounted connector 10 into the through hole P1 so as to protrude toward the door panel P, and hooks the lower edge P3 to lock the projection 16. . Then, the hook projection 16 is rotated about the rotation center, and the side provided with the lock piece 13 is pushed into the through hole P1. At this time, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the operator performs the operation while keeping the state in which the pressing inclined surface 15 a of the operation protrusion 15 is pressed with a finger. In this case, the pressing inclined surface 15a is, since that is formed along substantially the law line direction of rotation locus of the locking piece 13, the operating force is to be resiliently deformed lock piece 13 acts effectively, As a result, bending deformation can be performed with a light force. Then, the lock piece 13 bends toward the inside of the hood portion 12 and can pass through the through hole P1 without the locking protrusion 14 contacting. Accordingly, burrs B are generated at the edge P2 as shown in FIG.
Even if the protrusions protrude toward the locking protrusions 14, burrs do not catch on the locking protrusions 14, and the mounting operation can be performed smoothly.

When the pressing of the operation projection 15 is stopped when the entire flange 17 is pushed until it comes into contact with the panel, as shown in FIG. 6, the lock piece 13 is deformed in the return direction, and the locking projection 14 is moved in the insertion direction. The panel mounting type connector 10 is fixed to the door panel P by being locked to the upper edge P2 from the opposite side. When the panel-mounted connector 10 is pushed in, the burr B does not hit the front surface of the operation protrusion 15 and does not hurt the operator's finger pressing the rear surface (operation inclined surface 15a).

(1) The lock piece 13 of the present embodiment has a free end in the front in the insertion direction. However, as shown in FIG. A protrusion may be provided. In this case, for example, as shown in FIG.
The distal end of the free end can be the operation projection 22. However, if a free end is provided in the front in the insertion direction and a locking projection 14 is provided at the tip as in this embodiment, it is necessary to prevent the locking projection 14 from hitting the burr B. Since the required amount of bending of the lock piece 13 is small, the operation is easy.
