いて、一端をシートバックフレームに連繋した帯状体の
他端をカマチ被覆部と天板サイド部の縫合部に共縫いし

イド部との縫合部近辺の開裂をより速めるようにしたも

2により側方からの衝突に対して乗員を保護するもので
ある。なお、前記ケース3は図示のようなボックス状の
ものに限らず紙、布、合成樹脂フィルム等からなる袋状

繊維系の緻密な織布地のような伸縮性の乏しい裏生地7

にカマチ被覆部7を天板部9や天板サイド部8に比べて
伸縮性の乏しい部材をもって構成したことは、膨出する
エアバッグ2の展開圧力がカマチ被覆部7の内面にかか
った際にカマチ被覆部7の伸びを小さくして即座に縫合
部近辺が破断するようにすることを目的とするものであ
るから、カマチ被覆部7を他の部分よりも伸縮性の乏し
い部材としてあればよいことは勿論である。なお、カマ
チ被覆部7を二重の合わせ地とする場合において、裏生
地7bとする合成樹脂地と裏基布とのラミネート地を用
いる場合は合成樹脂地の平滑表面が膨出するエアバッグ
2に接する側となるように表生地7aの裏側に重ねてお
くことによりエアバッグ2の膨出時にエアバッグ2とカ
マチ被覆部7との間の摩擦抵抗を少なくなるようにして
おくことが好ましい。また、図示した本発明の実施形態
では、一端をシートバックフレーム5に連繋しておいた
帯状体10の他端を天板サイド部8とカマチ被覆部7と
