Description
The present invention relates to a concrete container for temporarily storing radioactive contaminants.
Patent Document 1 and the like propose a sealed concrete container that temporarily stores radioactive contaminants.
Radioactive pollutants such as rubble and earth and sand generated in the decontamination process in radioactively contaminated areas are stored in a concrete container proposed in Patent Document 1 and temporarily stored in a temporary storage area, and then an intermediate storage facility And then transferred to the final disposal site. If the installation of the intermediate storage facility is delayed, the radioactive pollutant will be stored in the temporary storage area for a long time while being stored in the concrete container.
When a concrete container containing radioactive contaminants is stored in a temporary storage area for a long period of time, cracks due to aging of the concrete may occur, or the seal material at the joint between the concrete container body and the lid may be deteriorated by age. The possibility of occurrence of cracks increases. If the concrete container is hermetically sealed, the internal pressure of the container increases as the container temperature rises. Therefore, if cracks occur in the concrete body or sealing material, radioactive pollutant fine particles leak to the external environment from the minute gaps in the cracks. There is a risk.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems. When cracks occur in concrete containers and sealing materials, the risk of radioactive contaminant particles leaking to the external environment is higher than that of conventional sealed concrete containers. The purpose is to provide a concrete container for temporary storage of radioactive pollutants.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a concrete container for storing radioactive pollutants, comprising an opening formed in a surrounding wall and a filter for closing the opening.
If an opening is formed in advance in the surrounding wall of the concrete container for storing radioactive pollutants, even if the container temperature rises, the rise in the container internal pressure is suppressed, so even if cracks occur in the concrete container or sealing material, Leakage of radioactive contaminant fine particles from the crack is suppressed. The radioactive contaminant fine particles in the concrete container try to flow out to the external environment through the opening with less pressure loss than the micro gap in the cracked part, but are captured by a filter that closes the opening. As a result, when cracks occur in the concrete container and the sealing material, the risk of the radioactive pollutant fine particles leaking to the external environment is reduced as compared with the conventional sealed concrete container.
In a preferred aspect of the present invention, a concrete container for storing radioactive pollutants includes a pair of openings formed in the surrounding wall so as to face each other, and a filter that closes the pair of openings.
If one opening is formed in each of the opposing walls of the concrete container, an air flow from one opening to the other opening is formed in the concrete container, and the radioactive pollutant particles in the concrete container Therefore, leakage of radioactive contaminant fine particles from the minute gaps in the cracked portion to the external environment is further effectively prevented.
For the temporary storage of radioactive pollutants, the risk of leakage of fine particles of radioactive contaminants to the external environment when cracks occur in concrete containers and sealing materials is reduced compared to conventional sealed concrete containers. A concrete container is provided.
