Description

The present invention relates to a pipe joint used for joint connection of pipes to be piped, and a sealing packing which is a component of the pipe joint, and more particularly to a sealing packing and a pipe joint suitable for piping of a liquid having a high pressure such as water supply.

Piping for transporting liquids and gases, such as waterworks, is not made by a single seamless pipe (pipe), but is piped while being connected by a pipe joint (joint) at an appropriate location. . Such a pipe joint part is a part where leakage or rupture may occur as compared with a part other than the joint connection. For this reason, in order to prevent such leaks and bursts from occurring at jointed parts, generally tap the pipe end connected to the pipe joint and connect it to the pipe joint while screwing in, or weld the pipe end. And connect.

However, when processing or welding is performed on the pipe end, the work at the site of the piping work becomes complicated and there is a problem that the efficiency is low. In view of this, there has been proposed a technique for preventing leakage and breakage by modifying the pipe joint without processing the pipe end. For example, the inner wall of the pipe joint holds the inner wall of the pipe end, the outer wall of the pipe end is held by a split ring, and the split ring is tightened with a cap nut provided on the outer cylinder of the pipe joint. Thus, there is a technique for tightening the outer wall of the pipe end (for example, Patent Document 1).

Japanese Patent No. 4205153

However, the technique as described above requires special processing on the pipe joint, which is a factor of high cost. For this reason, there is a need for a simpler means of joint connection.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is cylindrical, that is, the outer periphery of the front bottom surface which is a cylindrical bottom surface and the outer periphery of the rear bottom surface are connected by an outer wall, and the inner periphery of the front bottom surface and the inner periphery of the rear bottom surface are In the sealing packing for elastic pipe joints connected by the inner wall,
The front bottom surface is a convex tapered surface from the outer periphery toward the inner periphery;
The most important feature is that the rear bottom surface is a concave tapered surface from the outer periphery toward the inner periphery.

In the sealing packing according to the present invention, the inclination angle of the front bottom surface is not less than 35 ° and not more than 40 ° from the vertical intersection plane of the cylindrical central axis, and the inclination angle of the rear bottom surface is 30 from the vertical intersection plane of the cylindrical central axis. It is preferable that the angle is not less than 35 ° and less than 35 °.

Furthermore, the present invention is mainly characterized in that the sealing joint, the washer and the nut of the present invention are respectively disposed on both the pipe joint body having male thread portions on the inner cylinder side at both ends and the male thread portion. It is also a devised pipe joint.

According to the pipe joint using the sealing packing of the present invention, the pipe end is inserted as it is without processing the pipe end, and tightened with a nut, even though it is highly effective in preventing leakage of liquid with high internal pressure such as water supply. Simply connecting the pipes is easy. In addition, since the pipe joint using the sealing packing of the present invention requires a small number of components, the cost of joint connection can be greatly reduced. Also, since no fire such as welding is used for the joint connection, safe and simple work can be realized, and on-site efficiency can be improved.

Since the material of the sealing packing of the present invention is an elastic material such as rubber, when the pipe is locked with a pipe joint using this material, the sealing packing absorbs vibrations such as liquid flow and can alleviate damage to the pipe. In addition, it is easy to attach and detach, and can be used several times without being thrown away every time it is inspected. Furthermore, if the pipe diameter is the same, the sealing packing can be replaced.

In addition, pipes that can be connected by pipe joints incorporating the sealing packing of the present invention can be used regardless of the pipe material, such as metal pipes such as copper and stainless steel, synthetic resin pipes such as vinyl chloride resin, etc. Work efficiency on site is greatly improved.

The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings, but the present invention is not limited to the mode shown in the drawings.

(Sealing packing)
FIG. 1 shows an outline of a sealing packing 10 for a pipe joint 20 according to the present invention. 1A is a perspective view, FIG. 1B is a front view, and FIG. 1C is an end view of a section on a plane including a cylindrical central axis. 1B, the plan view, the rear view, and the bottom view are all the same as the front view. Further, FIG. 1C shows the same section end view of any surface as long as it includes the cylindrical central axis.

The sealing packing 10 of the present invention has a cylindrical shape as a basic form. That is, the outer periphery of the front bottom surface 11 that is a cylindrical bottom surface and the outer periphery of the rear bottom surface 12 are connected by the outer wall 13, and the inner periphery of the front bottom surface 11 and the inner periphery of the rear bottom surface 12 are connected by the inner wall 14. Therefore, the center of the front bottom surface 11 of the sealing packing 10 is penetrated by a cylindrical hole 15 having a large inner diameter that leads to the rear bottom surface 12.

Here, the front and rear of the sealing packing 10 have no significance to distinguish when the sealing packing is present alone, but have the significance to distinguish when the sealing packing 10 is incorporated into the pipe joint 20. That is, the side close to the center of the pipe joint 20 is the front of the sealing packing 10 along the direction in which the liquid or the like flows in the pipe, and the side close to the pipe 50 to be connected, that is, the side in contact with the washer 30 is the sealing packing. 10 behind.

The front bottom surface 11 of the sealing packing 10 of the present invention is a tapered surface that is convex from the outer periphery toward the inner periphery, and the rear bottom surface 12 is a tapered surface that is concave from the outer periphery toward the inner periphery. With this configuration, when the sealing packing 10 of the present invention is incorporated in the pipe joint 20 and an internal pressure is applied to the pipe by a water flow or the like, as shown in FIG. 3, the force A of the water flow causes the sealing packing 10 of the present invention. As a result, the pipe 50 connected to the pipe joint 20 is locked with a stronger force.

In order to sufficiently exhibit such an effect, it is preferable that the inclination angle α of the front bottom surface 11 is in a range of 35 ° or more and 40 ° or less from the vertical intersection surface of the cylindrical central axis. In addition, the inclination angle β of the rear bottom surface 12 is preferably smaller than the inclination angle α of the front bottom surface 11, and is preferably in the range of 30 ° or more and less than 35 ° from the vertical intersection surface of the cylindrical central axis. The thickness of the sealing packing 10, that is, the distance in the cylindrical central axis direction at the outer peripheral positions of the front bottom surface 11 and the rear bottom surface 12 is not particularly limited, but is usually about 5 to 10 mm.

The material used for the sealing packing 10 of the present invention can be used without limitation as long as it is an elastic material such as rubber or thermoplastic elastomer, like the normal sealing packing 10. However, like a normal sealing packing, an elastic material that does not react with the fluid should be selected depending on the type of fluid used.

(Pipe joint)
The pipe joint 20 incorporating the sealing packing 10 of the present invention is also the present invention. FIG. 2 shows a state in which the sealing packing 10 of the present invention is arranged at both ends of the pipe joint 20 of the present invention, and two pipes 50 are joined by the pipe joint 20. FIG. 2A is a front view, and FIG. 2B is a cross-sectional view on a plane including a cylindrical central axis. 2A, the plan view, the rear view, and the bottom view are all the same as the front view except for the thickness of the nut and the deviation of the thread. Further, FIG. 2 (B) shows the same section end view as long as the plane includes the central axis of the cylinder, except for the direction of the nut and the deviation of the thread.

The pipe joint 20 of the present invention has a cylindrical shape, a pipe joint main body 22 having male screws on the inner cylinder side at both ends thereof, a washer 30 (washer), preferably two flat washers, the male screw and screw number. It is composed of as few parts as two nuts 40 each having a female thread portion and two sealing packings 10 of the present invention.

The pipe 50 is jointed by the pipe joint 20 of the present invention in the following manner. First, the sealing packing 10 of the present invention is disposed from the front of the sealing packing inside the male screw portion 24 at one end of the pipe joint main body 22. Similarly, a washer 30 is also provided. Finally, the male threaded portion 24 of the pipe joint body 22 and the nut 40 are screwed together. The same operation is performed on the other end of the pipe joint main body 22. Thereby, the pipe joint 20 is assembled.

The joint connection between the pipe joint 20 and the pipe 50 can be performed by a simple operation in which the pipe 50 to be jointed is inserted into the holes at both ends of the pipe joint 20 and tightened with the nut 40.

Even if the pipe 50 is initially connected to the pipe joint 20 of the present invention, the pipe 50 is locked by tightening the nut. However, when internal pressure is applied to the pipe 50 that is connected by applying a liquid or the like, it is shown in FIG. By the action, the pipe 50 is locked with a stronger force and cannot be completely removed. In addition, when the hole diameter of both ends of the pipe joint 20 is too larger than the pipe diameter, even when the pipe joint 20 of the present invention is used, the pipe may be disconnected. Conversely, if the hole diameter at both ends is too smaller than the pipe diameter, the pipe cannot be inserted into the hole of the pipe joint. For this reason, it is necessary to use the hole diameter of the both ends of the pipe joint 20 in a suitable size according to the pipe diameter.

The pipe using the pipe joint 20 of the present invention is particularly suitable for transporting a liquid having a high internal pressure such as a water supply (water supply), but is also used for transporting a liquid having a low internal pressure such as a sewer or gas such as gas. Can do.

[Evaluation]
Using the sealing packing of the shape described in each example and each comparative example, as shown in the configuration of the pipe joint, the sealing packing and the plain washer are arranged on the male thread portions at both ends of the pipe joint body, Screwed with a nut. Thereafter, the pipe was inserted into the holes at both ends of the pipe joint as far as it could go and tightened with nuts. For evaluation, one of the pipes inserted into the pipe joint was closed by welding at the end opposite to the inserted side so that the liquid did not leak outside.

The sealing packing used in the examples and comparative examples was made of rubber and had a hardness of 80 to 90. The pipe used for the splicing connection was made of copper and had an outer diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 0.6 mm.

In a state where water pressure was not applied to the pipe, the pipe was pulled with a load of a maximum of 70 kgf to test whether the pipe was detached from the pipe joint. The case where the pipe did not come off to the maximum water pressure was determined as OK, and when the pipe came off, the tensile load at the time when the pipe came off was recorded.

The above results are summarized in Table 1.
