即ち、従来汎用の敷布団シーツは織布を用いて敷布団よりも大きな縦横寸法に形成されている。かかる敷布団シーツを用いてベッドメイクをするにあたっては、作業者の１人が敷布団シーツの前部折込み部分をベッド上に敷かれた敷布団の前部の下に折り入れて保持する。
そして、別の作業者が敷布団シーツの後部折込み部分を後向きに引っ張って敷布団シーツを展張させたのち、後部折込み部分を敷布団の後部の下に折り入れる。
このとき、作業者の１人が前部折込み部分をしっかり持っていなければ、敷布団シーツをぴんと張ることができない。

この立体袋形状シーツ100Ｂにより、敷布団又はマットへの使用時は、その側部などから、一人でシーツの下部側を持ち上部を広げながら投げ掛けるだけで三角マチ400の錘り機能との相乗効果により袋部が開き中に空気が入いり立体的になって敷布団の上端側に合わせ置くことができる。そして敷布団又はマットの上端部にこの立体的になっている袋部を掛けて下に引くのみで袋部内に敷布団の上端部がスッポリ入りフィットする。この後、側部布300を敷布団の両側下に敷き込み、次いで下部を包んで、一枚のシーツ掛けを完了する。
