According to the first aspect of the present invention, the air is blown into the indoor unit from two places by the blower, namely, a suction port facing the exhaust port of the main body and a suction port provided at a position orthogonal to the suction port.
Let the heat exchange with the heat exchanger. In this case, since the latter suction port is drawn in from the lateral direction as compared with the former suction port facing the blower, the air suction state is reduced. When the suction ports provided on the side surface orthogonal to the disadvantageous exhaust port are formed as two rows of front and rear slits for air suction, vertical ribs formed between the slits are used to blow air. The length is set and provided so as to be at a rearwardly shifted position not facing the device. For this reason, the rib does not obstruct the air passage through which air is sucked from the side, and the amount of air from the side is sufficiently ensured. That is, the slits are inadvertently provided so that the ribs do not enter into the air path and the air suction from the side having originally low suction force is not further reduced.

The heat exchanger 4 has a structure in which a refrigerant pipe 15 is passed in a meandering manner through a plurality of elongated aluminum fins 14 stacked at a constant pitch. As shown in FIG. 3, the main suction port 8 having a large opening area formed on the back surface 2e of the main body case 2 by being curved into an L shape when viewed from above, and one side surface 2d of the main body case 2 The main body case 2 of the outdoor unit 1 is formed so as to face the sub suction ports 11 smaller than the suction port 8 in terms of the opening area formed in the main body 2.
It is provided standing inside. That is, the heat exchanger 4 has a wide opening area, and has a main heat exchange portion corresponding to the main suction port 8 having a large suction air volume and a sub heat exchange portion corresponding to a sub suction port having a small opening area. It has become.

Since the outdoor heat exchanger 4 is bent in an L-shape as described above, in the curved portion 4b that bends in the R-shape, the outside, which is the air inlet between the fins 14, opens widely.
Since the space between the fins 14 becomes narrow due to the clogging between the fins 14, the R-shaped curved portion 4b has a situation in which ventilation resistance is increased as a whole. 13A is a discharge port guard mounted on the exhaust port, and the discharge openings 13a are formed in a grid shape so as not to be touched by fingers so as not to be injured by touching the rotating cooling fan 7 of the blower 5. Have been.

Now, the cooling fan 7 is rotated to draw heat from the main suction port 8 on the rear face and to the exhaust port 9 on the front face 2c, and the heat exchange of the heat exchanger 4 is performed by a large amount of suction air flowing out. , The side airway 1 crossing the airway 10 in this direction
Air is sucked in even through 0A, and heat exchange by the air is performed in the sub heat exchange section of the heat exchanger 4.
At this time, in order to improve the heat exchange in the sub heat exchange unit, it is preferable to increase the amount of air sent to the sub heat exchange unit.

Therefore, in the auxiliary heat exchange section, the pitch between the fins 14 is maintained at the same pitch as that at the time of manufacture, and a larger amount of air is applied to the straight section 4a where the ventilation resistance is not increased more than the curved section 4b. As shown in FIG.
A long slit 12a having a length a is formed in d to correspond to the straight portion 4a. A large number of the slits 12a are formed so as to be arranged at regular intervals in the vertical direction. When the slit 12a is formed in this way,
The length of the slit 12a is substantially equal to the depth l of the cooling fan 7 of the blower 5, so that the amount of air blown by the blower 5 can be sufficient, and the heat exchange rate in the sub heat exchange section can be increased.

If the slits formed on the side surface of the main body case 2 are long slits 12a in the front row and short slits 12b in the rear row, the long slits 12a in the front row are visually emphasized, and the rear slits are visually enhanced. Since the presence of 12b is reduced, the outdoor unit has a secondary effect that a thin image is appealed as a product and becomes inconspicuous, which helps to maintain the external appearance.

Further, in the embodiment, a thin image is obtained by an opening design in which the slits 12a in the front row are made longer and the slits 12b in the rear row are made shorter. Therefore, there is a cost of lowering the heat exchange rate in the sub heat exchange section, but contrary to the embodiment, the rear row of slits 12b is made longer and the front row of slits 12a is made shorter (length of slit 12b b> length of slit 12a). As described above, the outdoor unit 1 of the present invention is configured. Here, when the compressor 3 and the blower 5 are driven, the refrigerant circulates through the refrigeration cycle, and the indoor air is exchanged by the heat exchanger in the indoor unit. Is performed to perform cooling / heating. On the other hand, in the heat exchanger 4 of the outdoor unit, heat exchange is performed with external air taken in by the blower 5 to perform a condensation / evaporation action. . That is, the suction air from the main suction port 8 on the back side exchanges heat in the main heat exchange part, and the suction air from the side passes through the slits 12a and 12b to form the straight part 4a of the sub heat exchange part. And the bending portion 4b,
Heat exchange is sufficiently performed also in the sub heat exchange section.

As described above, according to the present invention, heat is exchanged not only from the rear surface of the outdoor unit with the heat exchanger in the outdoor unit, but also with the air taken in by the blower from the side surface. In this case, when the side air inlet is constituted by two rows of front and rear slits, a vertical rib formed between the front row and the rear row of slits is disengaged from the cooling fan of the blower to obstruct ventilation. Since the slits are formed to have a length dimension so as to be located at a rearward position where nothing can be done, it is possible to obtain an outdoor unit capable of maximizing heat exchange.
