FIG. 6 shows an example of a method of mounting the gravure plate 5 wound around the plate cylinder 4 by the above-described printing apparatus 1. FIG. 6 is an exploded perspective view of the plate cylinder 4. The cylinder 12 is a metal cylinder. A gravure plate 5 of stainless steel or synthetic resin is wound along the outer diameter of the cylinder 12, and the plate screw 13 or the like is used. It is fixed to a set screw formed in the cylinder 12.

As a material when the gravure plate 5 is made of a synthetic resin, a thermoplastic resin having a relatively narrow melting range, being hard when cured, and being scattered or sublimated at a low temperature when melted, is preferred. A polyethylene resin, an acrylic resin, or the like can be used. When the gravure plate 5 is selected from a synthetic resin, a thickness t of about 200 microns is selected. Metal caps 14L and 14R are inserted into the left and right ends of the cylinder 12 so as to fix the left and right ends of the gravure plate 5, thereby forming the plate cylinder 4. Cap 14L, 1
The shafts 15L and 15R are erected on the 4R, and are connected to a plate cylinder rotation motor (not shown) to rotate the plate cylinder 4 in a predetermined direction.

When the gravure plate 5 is fixed to the plate cylinder 4 by the conventional printing apparatus, pins and the like are planted on the plate cylinder 4 in addition to being fixed by the flathead screws 13 as described above. Then, a pin is inserted into a hole formed in the end of the gravure plate 5, and the gravure plate 5 is wound around the cylinder 12 of the plate cylinder 4 while being pulled, or both ends of the gravure plate 5 are sandwiched between the cylinders 12 of the plate cylinder 4. A mechanism was used to fix it by hand. Since any mounting method can be mechanically mounted, it is difficult to incorporate the automatic plate mounting portion into the printing apparatus 1, and the cylinder 1
2, the plate cylinder 4 to which the gravure plate 5 was fixed had to be manually installed in the printing apparatus 1.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the printing apparatus of the present invention prints a printing paper 8 from a paper cassette 16 via an impression cylinder 7 and a plate cylinder 4. Then, in the printing apparatus 1 configured to discharge the printed paper 11 to a paper discharge cassette 17 having the same shape as the paper supply cassette 16, the paper supply cassette 16 is moved in one direction of a housing 18 of the printing apparatus 1. And a print surface for removably arranging a paper discharge cassette 18 so that the print paper 8 fed from the paper feed cassette 16 is printed by the impression cylinder 7 and the plate cylinder 4 so that the print surface of the print paper 8 becomes front. Conversion means 9a,
The sheet is discharged to the sheet discharge cassette 17 through the sheet feeder 32. According to the printing method of the present invention, the printing paper 8 is multicolor-printed from the paper supply cassette 16 through the impression cylinder 7 and the plate cylinder 4, and the printed paper 11 is discharged into the discharge cassette 18 having the same shape as the paper supply cassette 16.
In a multi-color printing method in which the paper is discharged to and subjected to multi-color printing,
Paper feed and discharge cassettes 16 and 17 are detachably disposed in one direction of a housing 18 of the printing apparatus 1, and after printing paper 8 fed from the paper feed cassette 16 is printed by the impression cylinder 7 and the plate cylinder 4, The printing paper 8 is discharged to the paper output cassette 17 with the printing surface of the printing paper 8 facing up. The paper output cassette 17 is brought to the paper feeding cassette 16 side, and the paper feeding cassette 16 is brought to the paper output cassette 17 side. The same printing and cassette exchange operations are repeated to perform multicolor printing on the printing paper 8.

According to the feeding and discharging operations of the printing apparatus and the printing method, the upper surface of the printed paper 11 placed on the discharging cassette 17 at the time of discharging is placed on the feeding cassette 16. Since it is in the same direction as the upper surface of the printing paper 8, as shown in FIG. 4, the empty paper feed cassette 16 is brought to the lower paper output cassette 17 side, and the paper output cassette 17 is kept as it is in the upper paper feed cassette. If the sheet is moved to the 16 side and multi-color printing or the like is performed, the paper exchange only needs to move the entire cassette, it is not necessary to rearrange the printed paper, and the exchange operation can be performed very easily with a short distance.

In the above-described configuration, the paper feed cassette 16 and the paper discharge cassette 17 are exchanged by hand. However, when the predetermined number of sheets have been printed, the paper count is detected, and the paper feed cassette 16 is moved horizontally or horizontally. The operation of returning the sheet cassette 16 to the position of the discharge cassette 17, which is lowered after moving the sheet cassette 17 out of the housing 18 and then moving the sheet cassette 17 upward, is simply configured using a motor and a lifting / lowering means. It can also be done. In this way, automation can be performed without using hands.
