Various video display tubes such as a display tube have been proposed. Although the details of these picture display tubes differ depending on the operating principle, the front container made of glass and the back container made of metal or glass material are joined with frit glass, and the inside of the tube is evacuated and the inside is evacuated. An electrode is provided at an appropriate place, an electric signal is applied to the electrode, and a structure displaying an image responding to the electric signal is common.

FIG. A conventional example in which the front and rear containers of the image display tube are joined with frit glass will be described with reference to these drawings. Clamper 1 with back container 3 against base 6
Fix with. The front container 2 is placed on the back container 3, and the frit glass 8 is evenly applied to the periphery of the front container 3 where the front container 2 contacts the back container 3. Thereafter, the holding block 5 is placed on the front container 2, and the base 6 is inclined as shown in FIG. 2 and put in a high-temperature furnace to melt the frit glass 8 and join the front container 2 and the back container 3. Let it. In this case, it is necessary to accurately match the relative positions of the front container 2 and the back container 3. For this purpose, the positioning stopper 4 is arranged as shown in FIG. As described above, since the base 6 is inclined and the frit glass 8 is melted at a high temperature in the furnace, the front container 2 tends to slide down in the direction of arrow C due to the weight of the holding block 5. As a result, the peripheral end of the front container 2 comes into contact with the positioning stopper 4 so that accurate positioning of the back container 3 and the front container 2 can be performed.

Since the frit glass is easily bonded not only to the glass material but also to the metal material, the frit glass 8 is often bonded to the positioning stopper 4 after coming out of the high-temperature furnace. Therefore, when the front container 2 and the back container 3 that have been joined are removed from the base 6, a crack is generated in the frit glass 8 that is joined to the positioning stopper 4, and the front container 2 and the back container 3 that are bent and joined by the crack Cracks also occur at the joint surface of In severe cases, the outer container 2 may be cracked. As described above, the inside of the image display tube must be maintained at a vacuum. However, if a crack is generated at the joint surface between the front container 2 and the back container 3, the vacuum cannot be maintained. This is even more so.

Therefore, when the two containers that have been joined are removed, no crack is generated in the joint surface of the two containers that have been joined. As a result, the production yield can be significantly improved.

低下せしめたものである。Boron nitride or graphite has a characteristic that it has heat resistance and is hardly bonded to frit glass. However, it has the disadvantage that it is more brittle than metal and has lower mechanical strength than metal material. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1B, the insufficiency of the mechanical strength of the contact tip a is compensated for by the metal part of the body b so that the protrusion of the contact tip a and the recess of the body b are fitted. ,
In addition, the use of boron nitride or graphite in the contact portion with the frit glass significantly reduces the bonding property with the frit glass.

In addition, since the frit glass and the positioning stopper 4 are not joined, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of cracks at the joint surface between the front container and the back container when removing the front container and the back container after the joining operation.

For example, a method of assembling b with screws may be employed. Further, the metal material may be a ceramic material having sufficient mechanical strength.
