A VTR, (2) is a charger, (3) is an adapter, and a battery pack (4) is detachably attached to the adapter (3). The adapter (3) is adapted to be attached to both the VTR (1) and the charger (2).
Has a locking piece (5) for mounting the adapter (3), power receiving terminals (6) and (6), and a power switch (7). The charger (2) also has a locking piece (8) for attaching the adapter (2) and power supply terminals (9) (9). On the other hand, the adapter (3) has a locking piece (10) for mounting to the VTR (1) and the charger (2), a locking piece (11) for mounting the battery pack (4), and a battery pack (4). Initially, since the flag C is 0, the current presence / absence routine is circulated. However, when the adapter (3) is connected to the charger (2), a charging current flows, and the capacity display device (14) is turned on. Is notified that charging has started. Thereafter, the display device (14) is turned off, a flag of C = 1 and N = 0 is set, and charging is continued. After the flag of N = 0 is set, the display device (14) is not turned on. When charging is completed and the switch in the charger is turned off, the charging current will be lost,
After setting the flag of N = 1, all the LEDs of the capacity display device (14) are turned on to notify that the capacity of the battery pack (4) has reached 100%.

When the switch (7) is turned on while connected to the VTR (1), a discharge current flows. Since N = 1, the flag of C = 0 is set, and then the capacity display device (14) is turned on. Immediately after the start of use, the capacity display device (14) turns on all the LEDs. As time elapses, the arithmetic unit (16) integrates the current flowing through the current detection unit (15), subtracts the integrated value from the battery capacity, and then sets a flag of N = 0 to go around the routine. As the capacity of the battery pack (4) decreases, the capacity display device (14) decreases the number of lighted LEDs so that the remaining capacity of the battery pack (4) can be known.

Also, by adding this adapter to a battery pack having no capacity display function, a capacity display function can be provided.
