2. Description of the Related Art For example, in a rubber tire type vehicle, a vehicle detection method using a check-in / check-out method has been adopted to detect the position of the vehicle. In this check-in / check-out method, a train detection loop coil is provided as a ground device for each section to be blocked along the running path of the vehicle.
As an on-board device, a check-in signal transmitting unit is provided at the front of the vehicle, and a check-out signal transmitting unit is provided at the rear of the vehicle. When the check-in signal transmitted from the vehicle is received by the train detection loop coil for each block section, it is determined that the front of the vehicle has entered the block section, and the check-out signal is transmitted to the train detection loop coil. , It is determined that a vehicle exists in the block section.

In the case of a stop at a home, a method of opening and closing a door of a vehicle and a door of a home in conjunction with each other to ensure passenger safety is often adopted.
In this case, when vehicles of different formations, for example, vehicles of four-car formation and six-car formation are running, it is necessary to open and close the door of the home according to the formation of each vehicle. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately detect the vehicle length.

According to the present invention, when the vehicle stops at the home, the first vehicle end detection loop coil and the second vehicle end detection loop coil, each having a fixed length and provided on the ground, separate from the vehicle. Receive the transmitted on-board signal. The first receiving unit sends a reference position signal indicating that the rear or front of the stopped vehicle is at the stop reference position to the vehicle length determining unit based on a signal sent from the first vehicle end detection loop coil. The second receiving unit sends a vehicle length signal of the stopped vehicle to the vehicle length determining unit based on a signal sent from the second vehicle end detection loop coil. When the reference position signal from the first receiving unit and the vehicle length detection signal from the second receiving unit are input, the vehicle length determining unit determines that the vehicle having the longer formation out of the two types of vehicle formation has stopped. ,
When only the reference position signal from the first receiving unit is received, it is determined that the vehicle of the short formation has stopped.

Vehicle 16 of 4-car train or Vehicle 1 of 6-car train
When the vehicle 7 travels while transmitting a check-in signal and a check-out signal for detecting trains and stops based on the position of the rear end of the home 6, a four-car train 16 or a six-car train 17 The check-out signal transmitted from the check-out signal transmitter 14 provided in the last vehicle is received by the first vehicle-end detection loop coil 1 and sent to the first receiver 3. The first receiving unit 3 receives a four-car train 16 or a six-car train 17 based on the sent check-out signal.
The reference position signal indicating that the rearmost vehicle 11n is at the stop reference position is sent to the vehicle length determination unit 5.

At this time, if the vehicle stopped along the home is the vehicle 16 of the 4-car train, as shown in FIG.
Since the leading vehicle 11a of the vehicles 16 of both trains has not reached the position of the second vehicle end detection loop coil 2, the check-in signal transmitted from the leading vehicle 11a in the second vehicle end detection loop coil 2 Is not received and the vehicle length detection signal is not sent from the second receiving unit 4 to the vehicle length determining unit 5. The stopped vehicle is a six-car train 1
In the case of 7, since the leading vehicle 11a has reached the position of the second vehicle end detection loop coil 2, the check-in signal transmitted from the leading vehicle 11a by the second vehicle end detection loop coil 2 And sends it to the second receiving unit 4. When receiving the check-in signal, the second receiving unit 4 generates a vehicle length detection signal based on the transmitted check-in signal and sends it to the vehicle length determining unit 5. Therefore, when the vehicle length detection signal is not sent from the second receiving unit 4 when the reference position signal is sent from the first receiving unit 3, the vehicle length determining unit 5 determines that the number of stopped vehicles is four. It is determined that the vehicle 16 is a train 16 and the fact is sent to, for example, a door opening / closing control device of the home 7, and the door of the home 7 corresponding to the vehicle 16 having four trains is opened and closed. Also,
When the vehicle length detection signal is sent from the second receiving unit 4 while the reference position signal is sent from the first receiving unit 3, the vehicle length determining unit 5 determines that the stopped vehicle is a six-car train It is determined to be 17 and the fact is outputted.
