FIG. 2 shows a general document feed mechanism for a conventional facsimile or the like. 1 is a paper feed roller for sending out the paper,
The tip of the friction pad 2 is in contact with a part of the surface. The friction pad 2 is made of a member having a desired coefficient of friction in order to separate and feed the paper. The rear end of the friction pad 2 is supported by a support member 8 and the front end is a compression spring 5.
Thus, a suitable pressing force is applied to the sheet feeding roller 1. The guide plate 4 on which the original is placed is extended along the peripheral surface of the paper feed roller 1 to guide the original 7. The guide plate 4 and the friction pad 2 are arranged at a desired angle. When the paper feed roller 1 is rotated to feed the original 7 on the guide plate 4, the leading end of the original 7 is moved to the friction pad 2.
, The lowermost document passes between the friction pad 2 and the paper feed roller 1, and the platen roller pair 12.

In the conventional paper feeding mechanism, it is desirable to use a friction member having a high coefficient of friction in order to prevent double feeding in performing the separation. However, when the paper passes between the paper feeding roller 1 and the friction pad 2, it is uncomfortable. Fricative noise was generated. On the other hand, in order to eliminate the friction noise, it is necessary to use a friction member having a lower friction coefficient, but there is a conflicting problem that double feeding of the original occurs, and therefore, in the related art, either one of the disadvantages has been used. The pad was formed with a member having a predetermined coefficient of friction while remaining.

The present invention provides a paper feed mechanism including a paper feed roller for feeding paper and a friction pad that partially presses against the paper feed roller, wherein the friction pad has low friction on a surface that comes into contact with the paper feed roller. A member is arranged, and a high friction member is arranged in the remaining portion on the same surface side.

According to the present invention, when the sheet feeding roller is rotated, the high friction member comes into contact with the sheet, and the friction between the high friction member and the sheet sufficiently separates the sheet. The lowermost sheet is fed between the low friction member and the sheet feeding roller without generating a sound.

A tip portion of a friction pad 2 is in pressure contact with a part of the peripheral surface of the paper feed roller 1. The friction pad 2 is made of a friction member having a predetermined coefficient of friction in order to separate a document, and a rear end thereof is supported by a support member 8. A low friction member 10 having a small coefficient of friction, for example, EPDM, is attached to the front end portion of the friction pad 2 which is pressed against the paper feed roller 1. The remaining portion where the friction pad 2 abuts is made of a high friction member 9 having a large friction coefficient, such as natural rubber, so as to be continuously connected to the low friction member 10.

Reference numeral 4 denotes a guide plate on which the document 7 is placed. The leading end of the guide plate 4 extends in an arc-shaped cross section to guide the document 7 along the peripheral surface shape of the paper feed roller 1. The guide plate 4 and the friction pad 2 are arranged at a desired angle so that the document 7 can be properly separated. The friction pad 2 is attached to a pad holder 3 installed on an extension of the support member 8. Reference numeral 6 denotes a pad holder receiver, and a compression spring 5 is interposed between a convex portion at an appropriate position on the lower surface thereof and a convex portion at an appropriate position on the upper surface of the pad holder 3. Therefore, an appropriate pressure is applied to the contact surface between the paper feed roller 1 and the friction pad 2 by the compression spring 5. The paper fed between the paper feed roller 1 and the friction pad 2 is further transported inside the facsimile by the platen roller pair 12.

In the paper feed mechanism configured as described above, first, when the document 7 is placed on the guide plate 4 and the paper feed roller 1 is rotated,
The original 7 slides along the guide plate 4 toward the friction pad 2,
The leading end of the document 7 contacts the high friction member 9 of the friction pad 2.

After being separated by the high friction member 9, only one sheet of the lowermost sheet of the original 7 is reduced by the rotation of the paper feed roller 1.
The paper is then fed to the registration roller pair 12 through the space between the paper feed roller 1 and the low friction member 10 for paper feeding. At this time, the portion where the friction pad 2 and the paper feed roller 1 contact each other is a low friction member 10.
, The document flows smoothly.

The document separated by the high friction member 9 in accordance with the rotation of the paper feed roller 1 in this manner does not generate a friction sound and is applied to the paper feed roller 1 with an appropriate pressure while being fed in contact with the low friction member 10. It is sent out by pressing.
