2. Description of the Related Art Soil attached to clothing varies considerably depending on the season and environment, but is roughly classified into organic soil and inorganic soil. Among them, most of the organic dirt is dropped off when a commercially available detergent is used, and it can be almost completely removed by increasing the detergent concentration or repeating the washing. In contrast, mud stains, which are representative of inorganic stains, are hard to remove with ordinary detergents, as we feel everyday. Mud dirt cannot be completely removed even if the detergent concentration is increased or washing is repeated. The only practical way to deal with this is to increase the mechanical power during washing. However, in a current washing machine, any further increase in mechanical power causes damage to the clothes, and the clothes are washed one by one. In fact, they give up because washing too many sheets places too much burden on them. Developing a composition that efficiently cleans such mud stains has been a common dream of detergent composition developers.

The pretreatment composition of the present invention exhibits acidity and is preferably used at a pH of less than 6. The lower the pH, the higher the mud dirt cleaning effect. However, if the acidity is too high, it is practically preferred to be 2 or more from the viewpoint of lowering the pH of the alkaline cleaner to be subsequently used to lower the detergency of sebum dirt and safety. Further, the pH is preferably less than 5, since the mud dirt cleaning power decreases as the pH approaches neutrality. These pH
It is adjusted using a suitable alkaline compound such as caustic soda, caustic potash, and ammonia, or, if necessary, an acidic compound.

It is preferably 10% by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 5% by weight. If the concentration is lower than 0.01% by weight, the mud dirt cleaning effect is reduced. On the other hand, when the content exceeds 10% by weight, the pH of the alkaline detergent to be subsequently used is reduced, and the mud stain cleaning effect is saturated when the content is 10% by weight or more.

It is also possible to make the acidic composition into a solution, soak the object to be washed contaminated with mud, and then wash it with an alkaline detergent. In this case, the amount of the pretreatment composition and the amount of the phosphonic acid in the pretreatment composition are adjusted so that the concentration of the phosphonic acid group-containing compound in the solution is 0.01 to 10% by weight, more preferably 0.5 to 5% by weight. The amount of the group-containing compound to be added is determined. Also in this case, the pretreatment composition may be solid or liquid.
