(Prior Art) Conventionally, paper-based decorative sheets have been obtained by, for example, printing on base paper having good water absorbency, impregnating and drying synthetic fibers and the like, and further performing resin top coating. In this method, it is necessary to impregnate the synthetic resin liquid after printing, and therefore, in making base paper, care must be taken to impart impregnating properties while maintaining printability.

In general, however, it is essential that the paper is smooth to provide printability. For this purpose, in the paper manufacturing process, the paper is subjected to a smoothing treatment by strongly pressing the paper with a press, calender, or the like. It has to be squeezed, which inevitably increases the density of the paper, resulting in poor impregnation. In order to maintain the impregnating property, the smoothing treatment cannot be sufficiently performed, and as a result, the printability becomes insufficient. This method is called an after-impregnation method because the impregnation step comes after the printing step. On the other hand, a so-called pre-impregnation method has recently been developed before the printing step.

In this method, usually paper is made and then impregnated with a resin solution.
Further, by performing a smoothing treatment to impart printability, a base paper for a decorative sheet can be obtained.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) In the base paper for decorative sheet obtained by the pre-impregnation method described above, in order to increase the inter-sheet strength, it is necessary to increase the resin impregnation rate. When the surface tension is increased, the surface of the paper after impregnation becomes difficult to smoothen by a press, a calender, or the like, and as a result, sufficient printability cannot be obtained. For this reason, the resin impregnation rate is lowered to sacrifice the inter-sheet strength, or the resin impregnation rate is sufficiently increased to sacrifice printability or to take a middle point between them, and all properties are insufficient. I had to do it.

In the present invention, an aqueous resin dispersion or an organic solvent solution is used as the impregnating resin liquid used as the impregnating agent. (1) The aqueous dispersion may be an acrylic emulsion, a vinyl acetate emulsion, or a synthetic rubber emulsion. A liquid mixture of one or more resin emulsions selected from the group consisting of a resin emulsion and a liquid mixture of the resin emulsion and a thermosetting resin emulsion or an organic solvent solution. A solution obtained by dissolving one or more resins selected from rubber-based resins or a mixture of the same and a thermosetting resin with an organic solvent may be used.

Based on 100 parts of papermaking base paper, 10 to 100 parts in solid content,
Preferably 15 to 80 parts are impregnated. If the impregnation rate is less than 10 parts, the inter-sheet strength becomes weak. In order to increase the impregnation rate, it is necessary to increase the concentration of the impregnating solution. However, if the concentration is increased to, for example, 50% by weight or more, the impregnating agent hardly penetrates the base paper,
When the impregnation ratio is higher than 100 parts, the calender effect is reduced and the smoothness is hardly increased, and as a result, the printability becomes insufficient.

In the present invention, a moisture imparting step may be inserted before the smoothing treatment. By having 6-8% moisture,
The smoothing process is performed smoothly. A super calender process is a typical method of the smoothing process. By performing this treatment after the above-mentioned resin coating and drying, the Bekk smoothness can be made 300 seconds or more, and excellent printability is imparted.

(Effect of the Invention) The decorative paper base paper of the present invention has a high inter-sheet strength because it is impregnated with a sufficient amount of resin, and has a high smoothness because the surface is clear-coated with a resin and subjected to a smoothing treatment. In addition, there is little white spots during printing, and there is little penetration of the printing ink into the paper layer. As a result, printing with a clear color tone can be obtained.
