マスタファイルＭもホストコンピュータ（ＨＯＳＴ）５
のマスタファイルＭと通信回線７により接続される。各
ＰＯＳ端末１にはバーコードスキャナやキーボード等の
入力装置２とＰＬＵ等の表示装置３があり、またストア
コントローラ６及びホストコンピュータ５にも入力装置
２及び表示装置３があり、これらにより各々マスタファ
イルＭのメンテナンスを行うようになっている。また、
いずれかでマスタファイルのメンテナンスを行うと、他
のマスタファイルも同内容の部分が同時にメンテナンス
される。更に、各ＰＯＳ端末１での売上業務は、商品の
バーコードをバーコードスキャナで読み込んだり、キー
ボードで入力して、マスタファイルＭを参照することに
より値段をＰＬＵ等に表示し、種々の記録をするので、
障害が発生したレジ以外は売上業務を続けることができ
