荷結合デバイス）５等から成るイメージスキャナ部６と
から大略構成されている。前記挿入口１から挿入された
カードは、無端ベルト／ローラ等から成る搬送機構（図
示略）により前記搬送路２内を第１図左方から右方へ搬
送されるようになっている。カードが前記搬送路２内を
搬送される際に、前記カードリーダ部４の磁気ヘッド３
は磁気テープデータを読取ると共に、前記イメージスキ
ャナ部６はカード表面全体のパターンを読取るようにな
っている。 また、前記カード処理装置の制御系は第２図に示す如
く、走査コントラスト切換制御部７、カード別レベル記
憶部８、カードリーダ部４、イメージスキャナ部６、印
字部９から構成されている。前記走査コントラスト切換
制御部７は、カードの種類別の色彩に対応するコントラ
ストのレベル値を予め記憶している前記カード別レベル
記憶部８から、カードリーダ部４によりカードから読取
った磁気テープデータに基づくカードの色彩に対応した
レベル値を読出し、読出したレベル値に基づきイメージ
スキャナ部６のコントラスト調整を自動的に行うように
なっている。これにより、イメージスキャナ部６はカー
ド全体の色彩に最適なコントラスト状態でカードのイメ
ージ情報を読取るようになっている。また、前記印字部
９は、イメージスキャナ部６により読取ったカードの画
像パターンを、利用者用のレシート上及び現金取扱装置
内保管用のジャーナル上へ各々印字するようになってい
る。尚、前記挿入口１から前記搬送路２内へ取込まれた
カードは、現金の取引処理が終了すると挿入口１側へ逆
送された後、利用者へ返却されるようになっている。 次に、上記構成による一実施例の現金取扱装置のカー
ド処理装置の動作を説明する。 利用者が現金取扱装置の挿入口１へ磁気カードを挿入
すると搬送路２内における搬送時に、カードリーダ部４
の磁気ヘッド３は搬送カードから磁気テープデータを読
取り、読取信号を走査コントラスト切換制御部７へ出力
する。これに伴い、走査コントラスト切換制御部７は、
カードリーダ部４によりカードから読取った磁気テープ
データに基づくカードの色彩に対応したレベル値をカー
ド別レベル記憶部８から読出し、イメージスキャナ部６
のコントラスト調整を自動的に行う。これにより、イメ
ージスキャナ部６はカード全体の色彩に最適なコントラ
スト状態でカードのイメージ情報を読取ることができ
る。これにより、従来のようにカードから読取った画像
パターンに基づき印字したイメージ情報が全体に黒く塗
りつぶされ認識不可能になる不具合を防止することがで
きる。 尚、上記一実施例では処理対象カードとして磁気カー
ドの場合を説明したが、これに限定されず、例えばICカ
ードを処理対象とすることも可能であり、ICカードの場
合にはカードリーダ部をICの読取装置により構成すれば
よい。また、上記一実施例ではカードの表面全体から画
像パターンを読取るものとしたが、これに限定されず、
例えばカードに形成されたエンボス文字部分の一部を読
