Therefore, in the present invention, in the constant current chopper driver that drives the step motor with a constant current by the motor drive circuit while detecting the current with the current detection circuit, the detection resistor connected to the motor drive circuit is used. And a rise time detection circuit that detects whether the voltage across the detection resistor reaches a predetermined height by a predetermined time, and if the rise time is fast as a result of the detection, lower the voltage applied to the motor drive circuit. And a voltage control circuit for increasing the voltage applied to the motor drive circuit when the rise time is slow.

Operation With such a circuit, at low speeds where the current rises well and the dynamic torque is large, the applied voltage is reduced in response to the fast rise time of the current, and the current rises poorly and the dynamic torque is small. At times, the applied voltage can be increased according to the slow rise time of the current.

Embodiment FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a constant current chopper driver according to the present invention, in which a step motor (10) drives a conventionally known motor while a current is detected by a current detection circuit (12) according to control of a controller (11). It is driven with a constant current by a circuit (13). The motor drive circuit (13) has a specific circuit configuration as shown in FIG. 2, for example, and is provided with a detection resistor (14). Therefore, the rise time detection circuit (15) detects whether the voltage across the detection resistor (14) reaches a predetermined height by a predetermined time,
The voltage applied to the motor drive circuit (13) is controlled by the voltage control circuit (16) according to the magnitude.

That is, when the stepping motor (10) is at a low speed, the rising of the current is good and the dynamic torque is large as shown in FIG. 3, so if the rising detection circuit (15) detects that the rising is fast, it is necessary. By applying the lowest voltage for obtaining sufficient torque, energy loss at low speed, vibration and heat generation due to excessive torque are suppressed.

On the other hand, at the time of high speed, the rise of the current is bad as shown in FIG. 4, so if it is detected that the current is slow, the voltage applied to the motor drive circuit (13) is increased to secure the required torque.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention, it is possible to reduce power consumption of a step motor, reduce heat generation and vibration, and maintain required torque.
Further, instead of indirect control in which the motor speed is detected and the voltage is controlled by that speed, direct control is performed in which the voltage applied to the motor drive circuit is controlled from the slow rise time of the current of the motor drive circuit itself. Therefore, precise stepless control with good responsiveness can be performed.
