(B) Conventional technology Conventionally, a coiler for winding a steel strip is installed in a hot rolling line for manufacturing a steel strip from a red-hot steel slab. However, since the steel strip temperature is 700 ° C. or higher at the maximum, heat-resistant steel is usually used for the mandrel, and a water-cooled type is used.

However, the conventional mandrel cannot be used for the coiler of the rolling line that requires winding / unwinding in the heat-retaining furnace with the maximum strip temperature of 1250 ° C and 1300 ° C because of insufficient mechanical strength. Disappear.

Generally, the heat-resistant cast steel used for mandrels is SCH1.
It is equivalent to 5, but the strength decreases as the temperature rises. For example, the tensile strength at high temperature was about 40 kgf / mm 2 or less at 650 ° C, but decreased to 10 kgf / mm 2 or less at 1000 ° C. Moreover, in order to secure the mechanical strength of the mandrel for the coiler inserted in the heat-retaining furnace heated and kept at 1300 ° C, the mandrel shaft must be cooled with a large amount of cooling water. For that purpose, it is necessary to make the passage of water in the mandrel shaft large, and inevitably the mandrel shaft also becomes thick. Further, when the cooling water increases, the amount of heat input to the heat retention furnace also has to increase.

Therefore, both the facility cost and the running cost are significantly increased, and all the merits of rolling the red hot steel strip are canceled out.

Ceramics have the highest mechanical strength among heat insulating materials, but their mechanical and thermal shock forces are far below those of heat-resistant cast steel. On the other hand, a heat insulating material such as felt or blanket is excellent in mechanical impact and thermal impact, but has no mechanical strength.

On the other hand, it will be installed in equipment for rolling steel strips from room temperature to 1250 ° C. The coiler / mandrel in the heat retention furnace is required to have high mechanical strength, mechanical shock characteristics, and thermal shock characteristics.

Therefore, the coiler mandrel installed in a heat-retaining furnace with a temperature range from room temperature to 1300 ° C uses both heat insulating material and heat-resistant cast steel to construct a mandrel structure that can withstand mechanically and thermally. The biggest problem was whether to do it.

Conventionally, when hot rolling is performed with a small rolling mill, a long table is required before and after the rolling, which is disadvantageous in terms of equipment and heat.

In JP-A-59-191503, heating coilers are provided in front of and behind the rolling mill, and rolling is performed at the time of winding / unwinding the rolled material.
An invention has been proposed that heats and keeps the winding coil warm.

However, winding a hot steel strip has conventionally been difficult in terms of equipment (heat resistance), and an uncentered coiler is generally used. In the rolling as described above, it is necessary to apply tension to the rolled material, and the mandrel type winding is preferable so that the winding does not become loose (the winding end surface becomes uneven). However, there was no mandrel with high heat resistance.

Conventionally, in the down coiler that cools and winds the hot rolled material, in order to meet the demand for raising the winding temperature, the Japanese Patent Publication Sho 60
Japanese Patent No. 32694 proposes a method of winding a steel strip by providing a heat insulating spool on the mandrel surface. Further, in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 61-35293, a mandrel having a heat insulating material attached to the surface of a segment is disclosed.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 018 proposes mandrels in which the segment surface is made uneven and the heat transfer area is reduced. All of these are applied to high temperature winding or to prevent rapid cooling of the tip end portion (a portion in contact with the mandrel, etc.) of the winding steel strip.

A winding machine that realizes such high-temperature winding is disclosed in
There is one proposed in Japanese Patent No. 61-14020. A coiler has been proposed in which the outer circumference of the mandrel is covered with a heat insulating hood and the guides are also heat insulated and heat resistant. However, this mandrel is only applied to high temperature materials having finish rolling temperatures of 800 to 900 ° C or lower. The heat insulation is also mainly for preventing radiative cooling, and the structural materials of the respective parts are not at a temperature at which strength is lost.

(D) Means for Solving the Problems The hot rolling equipment of the present invention is a line for rolling a hot steel strip by a hot rolling mill, and a coil box provided at each end of the line, and the coil box. A coiler that winds and unwinds a steel strip provided inside each, a heating and heat-retaining furnace provided between at least one of the hot rolling mill and the coil box, and the coil box made of steel. A drive device that moves in the width direction of the strip, a meandering detector that is provided on the entrance side of each coil box and detects the meandering of the steel strip, and the operation of the drive device based on the output of the meandering detector. The coiler includes a mandrel for winding / unwinding steel strips, and the mandrel is divided into a plurality of ceramic strips in a steel strip winding region on the outer periphery of a mandrel made of heat-resistant cast steel. Fixing the arcuate segments, inserting a heat insulating sheet into the gaps between the segments and between the segment and the mandrel, covering the bearing region on the outer periphery of the mandrel with molded heat insulating material, and The above problem is solved by means of a structure in which a gripper made of heat-resistant steel that holds the tip of the steel strip in the direction and in the area where the steel strip is wound is fixed.

(E) Action Generally, when winding a steel strip with a coiler or the like, it is necessary to wind the strip while applying tension to the steel strip. then,
The coiler's macadle is subjected to a tightening force due to its tension. Further, when the steel strip meanders, the winding state becomes a bamboo-like shape, and thus the meandering adjustment is necessary. At this time, bending stress is applied to the mandrel, and when the plate is cut, various impact forces are applied according to the state. The mandrel needs a slit that holds the tip of the steel strip. However, at the beginning of winding, a partial force is applied to bend the steel strip.
Also, since the mandrel is inserted into the heat-retaining furnace, it must withstand the temperature change from room temperature to 1300 ° C and withstand the thermal effects from the steel strip having a width of 1250 ° C from room temperature. I won't. In order to solve the above, the present invention combines the advantages of heat insulating materials and heat-resistant cast steel.

As the steel strip is wound and unwound within a short time in the coiler, it is difficult to control the heating inside (adjusting the heating amount according to the volume), and it is possible to uniformly heat the entire length of the steel strip. Since it is difficult, heating is provided separately. In order to apply tension, it is necessary to wind it around a mandrel, and a grip type is used to enable early tension. To adjust the coil winding, a part of the cover can be opened / closed so that it can be adjusted by a measuring device (heat resistance) provided outside the furnace. The inside of the mandrel is water cooled.

1. In a line for rolling a hot steel strip by a hot rolling mill, coil boxes provided at both ends of the line, and winding and winding of steel strips respectively provided in the coil boxes. A coiler for returning, a heating / heat-retaining furnace provided between at least one of the hot rolling mill and the coil box, a drive device for moving the coil box in the width direction of the steel strip, and the coils. A meandering detector provided on the entrance side of the box for detecting the meandering of the steel strip, and a controller for controlling the operation of the drive device based on the output of the meandering detector, each of the coilers being a steel strip. Of the mandrel for winding and rewinding, the mandrel is fixed to a plurality of arcuate segments made of ceramic in a steel band winding region on the outer periphery of the core made of heat-resistant cast steel,
A heat insulating sheet is inserted between the segments and in a gap between the segment and the mandrel, and a bearing region on the outer periphery of the mandrel is covered with a molded heat insulating material, and the steel strip is wound in the diametrical direction of the mandrel and in the steel strip winding. A hot rolling facility characterized in that a gripper made of heat-resistant steel that holds the tip of the steel strip into the attached area is fixed.
