スチックから構成された軽量の本体たる中間部(4)
と、この中間部(4)の両側にボルト(5)を用いてそ
れぞれ螺着された鋼鉄製の側部(6)とを備えて構成さ
れている。そして、この車止め(3)は、エスカレータ
の通常運転時には第1図に示す如く、可動踏板(1)の
踏面よりも僅かに下方に没入して位置し、エスカレータ
の車椅子用運転時には第2図に示す如く、可動踏板
(1)の後部両側の貫通孔から外部上方に突出し、可動
踏板(1)上の車椅子の後輪(図示せず)に対向して車
椅子の可動踏板(1)からの転落を防止する機能を営
む。
