However, in such a silencer shell structure,
Since the wavy portion 25 is located in a triple structure in the portion of the tubular shell body 13 corresponding to the first expansion chamber 21, the tubular shell body 13 in the portion where the wavy portion 25 is located is reinforced, The other parts were not reinforced. Therefore, when the plate thickness of the plate material forming the tubular shell body 13 is reduced, there is a portion in which the rigidity of the tubular shell body 13 is reduced, and there is a problem that the weight reduction of the silencer 11 cannot be promoted. .

As shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, such a silencer includes a plate member 39 in which flat portions 33, 35 and corrugated portions 37 are continuously formed alternately as shown in FIG. The corrugated portion 37 is wound in triple layers between the inner and outer peripheral portions of the portions 33 and 35 so as to be located over the entire length and the entire periphery of the tubular shell body 31, and is shown in FIG. As described above, spot welding is performed for each winding of the plate material 39, and the extending portions 40 of the flat portions 33 and 35 protruding in the exhaust gas flow direction R of the tubular shell body 31 are contacted with each other as shown in FIG. The caulked portions 43 are formed in contact with each other, and the end plates 41 are caulked to the caulked portions 43.

In the shell structure of the muffler configured as described above, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the tubular shell main body 31
Has a triple-layer structure in which the corrugated portion 37 is located between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion of the flat portions 33 and 35 over the entire circumference thereof, and the tubular shell main body 31 is positioned over the entire length and the entire circumference of the tubular shell body 31. The rigidity of the shell body 31 is improved, and the end plates 41 are caulked to the caulking portions 43 formed at both ends of the tubular shell body 31.

Thus, in the shell structure of the muffler configured as described above, the tubular shell body 31 is made up of the flat portions 33, 35 and the wavy portion 37.
, The plate member 39 formed continuously alternately, the wavy portion 37 between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion over the entire circumference of the flat portions 33, 35 is located over the entire length and the entire circumference of the tubular shell body 31. In this way, the flat portions 33 and 35 are formed by three-fold winding so that both ends of the flat portion 33, 35 in the exhaust gas flowing direction R extend in the exhaust gas flowing direction R rather than both ends of the corrugated portion 37, and the extended portion 40 is formed. Since the extended portions 40 are formed in contact with each other to form the caulked portions 43, and the end plates 41 are caulked to the caulked portions 43, the tubular shell body 31
The rigidity of the shell body 31 is improved, the entire tubular shell body 31 can be reinforced, and the end plates 41 can be easily crimped to the crimped portions 43 formed at both ends of the tubular shell body 31. it can.

Further, in the entire tubular shell body 31, the corrugated portion 37 is located between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion over the entire circumference of the flat portions 33, 35, and is located over the entire length and the entire circumference of the tubular shell body 31. Due to the overlapping structure, an independent space layer 45 is formed over the entire tubular shell body 31.
However, since it is formed in parallel with the exhaust gas flow direction R, the sound transmitted from the tubular shell body 31 can be significantly reduced as compared with the conventional case.

Furthermore, since the rigidity of the entire tubular shell body 31 can be improved, the tubular shell body 31 can maintain a certain strength even if the plate material 39 has a small thickness, and the silencer can be made lightweight. Can be achieved.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, an example in which the wave of the corrugated portion 37 is formed in the exhaust gas flowing direction has been described, but the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and the wave of the corrugated portion can be changed in the exhaust gas flowing direction. Even if it is formed in a plate material so as to be orthogonal to, the same effect as in the above embodiment can be obtained.

1. A silencer shell structure in which both end portions of a tubular shell body are crimped to close both ends of the tubular shell body, wherein the tubular shell body is corrugated with a flat portion. The plate member formed by alternately and continuously forming portions is at least 3 so that the corrugated portion is located between the inner peripheral portion and the outer peripheral portion of the flat portion over the entire length and the entire circumference of the silencer. Formed by winding heavily, both ends of the flat portion are extended from both ends of the wavy portion to form extended portions,
A shell structure of a silencer, characterized in that the extended portions are brought into contact with each other to form crimped portions, and the end plates are crimped to the crimped portions.
