Patent No. 6805909

When assembling joints in high-pressure piping such as that described in Patent Document 1, the components can be scratched, reducing the sealing performance.

The purpose of this disclosure is to provide a jig for high-pressure pipe joints that makes it difficult to scratch components.

This application discloses a high-pressure pipe fitting jig that is used to attach a collar to a body when fabricating a joint having a body that is placed between two high-pressure pipes, a collar that is placed on the outer periphery of the body, and a fastening member that is placed to cover the body and the collar, and that has a contact portion that contacts the collar and a recess that is placed between the contact portions and faces the end face of the body, and the recess is shaped so that it does not contact the end face of the body even when the contact portion is in contact with the collar.

The high-pressure pipe joint jig disclosed herein can prevent the main body from being scratched when attaching the collar to the main body.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a first pipe 1, a second pipe 2, and a high-pressure pipe joint 10. FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the collars 30 and 30'. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a scene where the collar 30 is attached to the jig 50. As shown in FIG.

1. Structure of the joint Before describing the high pressure pipe joint jig (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "jig"), the structure of the high pressure pipe joint (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "joint") for which this jig is used will be described. Fig. 1(a) shows a cross-sectional view of a joint 10 together with high pressure pipes 1 and 2 connected by the joint 10. Fig. 1(b) is an enlarged view of the portion of Fig. 1(a) in which the first pipe 1, main body 20, collar 30, and fastening member 40 are shown. As can be seen from these figures, the joint 10 has a main body 20, a collar 30, and a fastening member 40.
Such a joint 10 has a structure for joining an end of a first pipe 1 and an end of a second pipe 2 while ensuring airtightness (sealing). The joint 10 is used, for example, when filling a tank with a test gas at high pressure and testing the airtightness of the tank. The tank is, for example, a high-pressure tank of 70 MPa class such as a hydrogen tank provided in a fuel cell system for storing hydrogen gas to be supplied to the fuel cell. In this case, the first pipe 1 is the pipe on the tank side to be tested, and the second pipe 2 is the pipe on the testing device side.

1.1. First pipe The first pipe 1 has a recess 1a on the end face on the connecting side. The recess 1a is a concave tapered surface that becomes deeper toward the axis of the pipe. The inclined surface of this taper becomes the sealing surface 1b.
Further, a screw groove (external thread) 1c is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the end portion having the recess 1a of the first pipe 1. The external thread 1c is fastened to an internal thread 40a of a fastening member 40 as described later.

1.2 Second Pipe The second pipe 2 has an end connected to the main body 20. The form of connection is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include fastening with a screw, and connection with a coupler or fitting.

1.3. Main Body The main body 20 is a tubular member, one end of which is connected to the first pipe 1 and the other end of which is connected to the second pipe 2.
For this reason, the main body 20 is provided with a tapered surface 20a that is convex and tapered at the end on the side that contacts the first pipe 1. This tapered surface 20a contacts the seal surface 1b of the first pipe 1 to ensure airtightness.
Further, at the end portion on the side where the tapered surface 20a is provided, a screw groove (external thread) 20b is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the portion that is not the tapered surface 20a. Here, the external thread 20b provided on the main body 20 is a so-called reverse thread in which the spiral direction of the screw groove is opposite to that of the external thread 1c of the first piping 1. This external thread 20b is fastened to the internal thread 30a of the collar 30.

On the other hand, the main body 20 is provided with a connection means 21 at the end on the second pipe 2 side. The specific form of the connection means 21 is not particularly limited as long as it can be appropriately connected to the second pipe 2. Examples of the connection means include a screw, a coupler, a fitting, etc.

The end having the tapered surface 20a and the end having the connecting means 21 are connected by a connecting portion 22.

1.4 Collar The collar 30 is attached to the main body 20 and transmits the fastening force between the fastening member 40 and the first pipe 1 to the main body 20, thereby increasing the adhesion between the main body 20 and the first pipe 1 and improving airtightness.
The collar 30 is a tubular member having a screw groove (internal thread) 30a formed on its inside. The internal thread 30a is configured to be fastened to the external thread 20b of the main body.
In addition, when the collar 30 is attached to the main body 20, it protrudes beyond the outer periphery of the connection portion 22 and is configured so as not to be able to pass through the opening 42 of the fastening member 40 through which the connection portion 22 passes.

Fig. 2(a) shows an external perspective view of a collar 30 of one embodiment, and Fig. 2(b) shows an external perspective view of a collar 30' of another embodiment. As can be seen from these figures, both collars 30, 30' are annular and are provided with locking portions 30b, 30'b on which a contact portion 51 of a jig 50, which will be described later, is disposed. By disposing the contact portion 51 of the jig 50 on the locking portions 30b, 30'b, the jig 50 is caught by the collar 30, and a rotational force is transmitted from the jig 50 to the collar 30.
Therefore, the locking portions 30b, 30'b are both provided on one end face of the jig 30, one on either side of the axis, and the locking portion 30b is groove-shaped penetrating the pipe wall, while the locking portion 30'b is notched and provided on the outer periphery.
In the cross sections shown in FIG. 1(a) and FIG. 1(b), the collar 30 is a cross section taken along the axial direction including line AA, and the collar 30' is a cross section taken along the axial direction including line BB.

The fastening member 40 is a tubular member, and has an opening 41 on the side where the first pipe 1 is inserted and an opening 42 on the side where the connection part 22 is passed through. A screw groove (internal thread) 40a is formed on the inner surface on the opening 41 side, and this internal thread 40a is fastened to the external thread 1c of the first pipe 1.
In addition, the inner diameter of the fastening member 40 between the internal thread 40a and the opening 42 is expanded in part to provide an expanded diameter portion 40b in which the collar 30 is disposed. The opening 42 has an inner diameter that allows the connecting portion 22 to pass through but not the collar 30 to pass through.

1.6 Arrangement of Each Component The above-described components are arranged as follows, and the joint 10 connects the first pipe 1 and the second pipe 2.
The tip of the main body 20 contacts the tip of the first pipe 1. Specifically, the tapered surface 20a of the main body 20 contacts the sealing surface 1b of the first pipe 1. In addition, the outer thread 20b of the main body 20, the collar 30, and the inner thread 30a are fastened to each other, so that the collar 30 is disposed on the outer periphery of the main body 20.
The connection portion 22 is passed through the opening 42 of the fastening member 40, and the first pipe 1 is disposed on the opening 41 side, and the outer thread 1c and the inner thread 40a are fastened to each other. As a result, the tapered surface 20a, the seal surface 1b, and the collar 30 are disposed inside the fastening member 40.
At this time, since the collar 30 protrudes beyond the connection portion 22, it cannot pass through the opening 42, and so the collar 30 gets caught on the edge of the opening 42 of the fastening member 40. As a result, when the opening 42 of the fastening member 40 is drawn toward the first pipe 1 as the fastening member 40 and the first pipe 1 are fastened with a screw, the collar 30 that gets caught thereon is also drawn and the main body 20 moves toward the first pipe 1, so that the collar 30 is pressed more strongly against the first pipe 1, and the airtightness of the seal is improved at the seal surface 1b and the tapered surface 20a.
The inside of the first pipe 1 and the inside of the second pipe 2 are connected via the inside of the main body 20 to form a flow path.

2. Jig The jig is a member for attaching the collar 30 to the main body 20 (fastening the outer thread 20b and the inner thread 30a) before the first pipe 1 is placed in the joint 10. Fig. 3 is a diagram for explaining a jig 50 according to one embodiment, showing a scene in which the collar 30 is attached to the main body 20 by the jig 50. Fig. 3 is a view from the same perspective as Fig. 1(b).

The jig 50 is a rod-shaped member, one end face of which is inserted into the inside of the opening 41 of the fastening member 40, and is configured to contact the collar 30 while facing the end face of the main body 20. For this reason, the jig 50 is provided with a contact portion 51 that protrudes from the outer periphery of one end face. The contact portion 51 is a protrusion that is inserted into and hooked onto the locking portions 30b, 30'b of the collar 30 described above. Therefore, two contact portions 51 are provided facing each other, so that they are disposed on each of the two locking portions 30b, 30'b.
The shape of the contact portion 51 is not particularly limited as long as it can be disposed within and caught by the locking portions 30b and 30'b.

Moreover, a recess 52 is provided between the two contact portions 51 on the one end surface of the jig 50. As can be seen from Fig. 3, this recess 52 is configured so that the end surface of the jig 50 does not come into contact with the end surface of the main body 20, particularly the tapered surface 20a, when the contact portions 51 of the jig 50 are inserted until they come into contact with the bottom portions of the locking portions 30b, 30'b.
The specific shape of the recess 52 is not particularly limited, but for example, the bottom surface of the recess 52 may be shaped to fit the end surface of the main body 20, leaving a certain gap.

Although not particularly limited, it is preferable that the outer circumferential surface of the jig 50 does not come into contact with the internal thread 40a of the fastening member 40 when the contact portion 51 of the jig 50 is inserted until it contacts the bottom of the locking portions 30b and 30'b. This can prevent damage to the internal thread 40a.

3. Function, etc. With the jig 50 described above, before connecting the first pipe 1, the collar 30 is placed on the tip of the jig 50, and the tips of the collar 30 and the jig 50 are inserted through the opening 41 of the fastening member 40, and the jig 50 is rotated, so that the inner thread 30a of the collar 30 can be screwed into the outer thread 20b provided on the main body 20. This allows the collar 30 to be fastened to the main body 20.
At this time, since the contact portion 51 of the jig 50 is inserted into and hooked on the locking portions 30b, 30'b of the collar 30, the rotation of the jig 50 can be efficiently transmitted to the rotation of the collar 30. In addition, since the recess 52 of the jig 50 prevents the jig 50 from contacting the end face of the main body 20, particularly the tapered surface 20a, it is possible to prevent scratches on the portion related to the seal.
