Description

The present invention relates to a golf ball used when practicing putting on a floor surface such as a wooden floor in a place without grass (including artificial grass).

Conventionally, golf putting practice involves putting on a lawn at a golf driving range or the like, or placing an artificial grass mat on the floor and putting the ball toward a cup. When golfers want to practice easily, they often spread artificial grass mats on the floor indoors. However, although it is troublesome to lay out a mat indoors, the length and width of the artificial grass mat are limited, so it may not be possible to practice putting properly as desired. On the other hand, if you practice putting with a golf ball directly on a floor surface such as a wooden floor without laying an artificial grass mat, a loud noise will be generated, and you may receive noise complaints from your family, neighbors downstairs, etc. Patent Document 1 proposes a golf ball in which a flexible pile material is arranged upright on the surface of the golf ball.

The golf ball for putting practice according to the present embodiment includes a golf ball body, an adhesive layer applied to the surface of the golf ball body, and fibers flocked to the adhesive layer. The material of the fiber is polyamide resin, the length is 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm, and the thickness is 2.0 to 5.0 tex.

In order to plant the fibers 22 upright, the golf ball 10 on which the adhesive layer 25 is formed is set on the electrode plate, and then a high voltage is applied to form an electric field. The fibers 22 placed on the electrode plate are charged by a high voltage power source of approximately 20 to 60 kV, and then receive electrostatic force in the electric field and begin to fly. The fibers 22 fly toward the golf ball 10 while changing their orientation along the lines of electric force, and are adhered upright to the adhesive layer 25, as shown in FIG. 1(C). The fibers 22 are regularly aligned in the agent layer 25. Thereafter, the golf ball 20 is dried, and the adhesive layer 25 is heat-hardened using hot air or a heater. After heating, excess fibers that were not flocked to the adhesive layer and were attached to the surface of the golf ball 20 are removed by vibration or brushing, and the golf ball 20 for putting practice shown in FIG. 1(B) is completed. do.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a test in which a golf ball 20 is rolled on a stimp meter SM. A timp meter SM is generally a metal rail rod (3 feet long, approximately 91 cm) with grooves (not shown). The rolling distance LE of the golf ball 20 was measured using a stimpmeter SM, and the results were as follows. The measured distance LE was almost the same even if the floor surface FL was a concrete surface, a marble surface, or a carpet surface.

If the length of the fibers 22 is short, the rolling distance LE of the golf ball 20 will be long, which can be understood by imagining the friction of the fibers 22. Therefore, as the fiber length increases from 0.8 mm to 1.0 mm, the distance decreases by approximately 5 feet. However, increasing the fiber length from 1.0 mm to 1.2 mm increases the distance by approximately 3 feet. The reason is not clear, but since the fibers 22 are as thin as 3.3 tex, when the fibers become long, the golf ball 10 fibers fall down, and the contact surface of the floor FL is not the tip 22t of the fiber 22, but the side surface 22s of the fiber (Fig. 1(C)), and you can imagine that the friction is reduced.

Generally, at a golf course, the green condition indicates the green speed in feet. Generally speaking, green speeds for amateur golfers are said to be 8-10 feet, and for professional golfers, green speeds are said to be 10-13 feet. Even for amateur golfers, putting practice indoors is preferably difficult, so the length of the fibers 22 is preferably 1.0 mm. Even if the golf ball 20 for putting practice according to the present embodiment is placed directly on the floor surface FL for putting, the golf ball 20 for putting practice can be practiced in the same manner as on the grass green of a golf course.

By using the golf ball 20 for putting practice, the golfer does not have to take the trouble of laying out an artificial grass mat, and there is no need to store the artificial grass mat. Furthermore, since the fibers 22 are thin and short, the feel of the golf ball 20 when putting is not much different from the feel of the golf ball body 10. Therefore, golfers can use the golf ball 20 to improve their putting techniques and the like.
