Abstract
Description
本出願は、2020年2月7日出願の米国仮特許出願第62/971,562号、および2021年1月29日出願の米国仮特許出願第63/143,303号の優先権利益を主張するものであり、その両方は、参照することにより本明細書に組み込まれる。
標的浸透圧溶解(TOL)によって、行動的悪影響も正常組織に対する損傷も伴うことなく対照処置マウスと比較して、異所性異種移植片のサイズを一貫して30~50%減少させ、宿主マウスの生存期間を平均10~14日延長させることができたことが明らかにした実験動物を用いたin vivo試験の一貫した結果に基づいて、正常なネコとイヌで広範な安全性試験を行った後、本同軸リング装置を使用して2匹のイヌで試験的処置を開始した。
患者は、難治性の子宮頸がんを患っている50歳代であった。患者の臨床的問題は、PCAポンプでの高用量の麻薬に対してさえもの難治性疼痛や、不健康を含んだ。患者はヒドロモルフォン、モルヒネ、メタドン、抗不安薬を服用中であった。痛み止めの薬を何度も扱っても、緩和されることはなかった。患者のECOGパフォーマンスステータスは4であった。この患者の腫瘍は、すべての標準治療処置に抵抗性であると見なされ、この患者はいかなる局所的な臨床試験にも適格ではなかった。腫瘍進行による患者の極度の苦痛を考慮し、この患者が以前に行った生検でナトリウムチャネルの発現の増加を示していたことから、緊急使用として標的浸透圧溶解療法(TOL)を検討した。
