Abstract
Description
The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a water electrolysis cell used for water electrolysis.
For example,
The sheet for the gas diffusion layer, which is the sheet used for the gas diffusion layer used in the water electrolysis cell, is also desired to be adsorbed and transported during the manufacturing process of the water electrolysis cell for automation purposes. It was difficult to suck up only the gas diffusion layer sheet from the tray on which the gas diffusion layer sheet was placed.
In view of the above problems, an object of the present disclosure is to provide a method for manufacturing a water electrolysis cell that enables smooth adsorption and holding of a gas diffusion layer sheet used in a water electrolysis cell.
The inventor believes that the gas diffusion layer sheet used in water electrolysis cells has good flatness, is dense, and is heavy, so when trying to suck it up with a suction jig, the gas diffusion layer sheet and the tray on which the sheet is placed are separated. It was discovered that it was difficult to properly suck up only the gas diffusion layer sheet because of the negative pressure between the two.
The inventor believes that this is because outside air cannot enter between the gas diffusion layer sheet and the tray, and by providing a means for introducing outside air between the gas diffusion layer sheet and the tray. The present invention was completed by solving this problem.
The present application provides a method for manufacturing a water electrolysis cell, which includes a step of suctioning and holding a sheet for a gas diffusion layer placed on a tray using a suction jig and transporting the sheet, the method comprising: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a water electrolysis cell in which a gas diffusion layer sheet is adsorbed and held by a suction jig while introducing outside air.
The outside air may be introduced through a gap between the tray and the gas diffusion layer sheet using a protrusion provided on the tray.
The outside air may be introduced through a through hole provided in the tray.
When suctioning and holding, the gas diffusion layer sheet may be sucked up by a suction force from a state where the suction jig is spaced from the gas diffusion layer sheet by 0.1 mm or more.
According to the present disclosure, when only the gas diffusion sheet is adsorbed and held from the tray on which the gas diffusion layer sheet for the water electrolysis cell is placed, outside air may enter between the tray and the gas diffusion sheet. This makes it possible to smoothly adsorb and hold only the sheet for the gas diffusion layer, making it difficult for problems to occur even if the process is automated.

2. Method for manufacturing a water electrolysis cell A water electrolysis cell is formed by laminating a plurality of layers as described above, and is manufactured, for example, as follows.
The arrangement shown in Figure 2 is for a membrane electrode stack for one water electrolysis cell (a stack in which an oxygen electrode catalyst layer is stacked on one side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane and a hydrogen electrode catalyst layer is stacked on the other side). Following the above, the oxygen electrode gas diffusion layer is formed by laminating the sheets for the oxygen electrode gas diffusion layer, and the hydrogen electrode gas diffusion layer is formed by laminating the sheets for the hydrogen electrode gas diffusion layer.

The
Subsequently, the
Further, in the above, the
3. Effects, etc. According to the present disclosure, outside air can enter between the gas diffusion layer sheet and the tray through the gaps between the protrusions or the through holes, and the gas diffusion layer sheet can be smoothly held by suction. Therefore, defects are less likely to occur even if the process is automated.
