Conventionally, urethane (meth)acrylates made by reacting diol compounds such as polyester diols and polyether diols, diisocyanate compounds such as isophorone diisocyanate and diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylates such as hydroxyethyl acrylate are active energy ray-curable. It is known as a resin and is used for applications such as wood paint and plastic coating agents.

Such urethane (meth)acrylate generally has a high viscosity, so when using it, it must be diluted with an organic solvent or a reactive diluent to adjust the viscosity before coating, and then exposed to active energy rays such as ultraviolet rays. It is cured by irradiation to form a coating film.
However, when diluting with the above-mentioned organic solvent, it has become a problem under recent VOC regulations regarding air pollution, work environment, fire danger, etc. On the other hand, when diluting with a reactive diluent, a large amount of the reactive diluent may be required to lower the viscosity, and there are problems such as difficulty in obtaining sufficient physical properties of the coating film.

Under these circumstances, in recent years, there has been an increasing demand for water-based systems such as water-dispersed types. For example, in Patent Document 1, a carboxy group-containing urethane (meth)acrylate is produced in the presence of a water-soluble reactive diluent with a water miscibility of 100% by weight or more, and the carboxy group-containing urethane (meth)acrylate is An aqueous active energy ray-curable resin composition has been proposed in which a carboxyl group is converted into an amine salt, and then water is further added to emulsify the composition.

Further, Patent Document 2 proposes a water-dispersed curable resin composition in which at least one curable oligomer selected from urethane acrylate and epoxy acrylate is dispersed in an aqueous solvent in the presence of a reactive emulsifier. ing.

However, in the technique disclosed in Patent Document 1, a carboxyl group is introduced into the skeleton of urethane acrylate, and although it can be made water-based, it does not take into account the acryloyl group concentration of the urethane acrylate itself, and the surface of the coating film Hardness is not sufficient. Further, in the technique disclosed in Patent Document 1, since a water-soluble reactive diluent such as acryloylmorpholine is added to stably emulsify, it is difficult to obtain a highly hard coating film.

Further, in the technique disclosed in Patent Document 2, an emulsifier is required for water dispersion, and a reactive surfactant having one polymerizable unsaturated group is used as the emulsifier. In most emulsion compositions obtained using such reactive surfactants, the polymerizable unsaturated group of the reactive surfactant is an allyl group or a vinyl group. The reactivity of these allyl groups and vinyl groups is low and they are free in the cured coating, so when immersed in hot water, the reactive surfactant may be eluted into the water, causing loss of the cured coating. etc., the coating film hardness and hot water resistance are insufficient.

Although the technique disclosed in Patent Document 3 can be made water-based by having a hydrophilic structure derived from a polyalkylene glycol derivative, as the required performance has increased in recent years, it has become necessary to make it water-based and improve the surface hardness and scratch resistance of the coating film. There is a need for something with excellent quality.

Using an active energy ray-curable resin composition containing a urethane (meth)acrylate compound obtained by reacting a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylate and a polyalkylene glycol derivative with a polyol containing a carboxyl group, By making the (meth)acryloyl group concentration of the (meth)acrylate compound relatively high and the number average molecular weight of the polyalkylene glycol derivative relatively small, an emulsion with good self-emulsifying properties and post-emulsification stability can be created. The present invention was completed based on the discovery that a cured coating film with excellent surface hardness and scratch resistance could be formed.

(A) An active energy ray-curable resin composition comprising (A) of the urethane (meth)acrylate compound (A).
The meth)acryloyl group concentration is 1 to 10 mmol/g, and the alkylene glycol derivative (a4) has a number average molecular weight of 100 to 20,000. Therefore, it is self-emulsifying, has excellent water dispersibility, and has excellent effects on the surface hardness and scratch resistance of paint films, and is used in paints, protective coatings, anchor coatings, hard coat coatings, inks, It is very useful as a material for forming various films, such as magnetic powder coating binders, sandblasting films, pressure-sensitive adhesives, adhesives, adhesives, printing materials, etc.
Normally, in order to increase the scratch resistance and hardness, it is attempted to increase the (meth)acryloyl group concentration of the urethane (meth)acrylate compound, but this results in a decrease in emulsification suitability. By containing both a structural moiety derived from a polyol containing a carboxyl group and a structural moiety derived from a specific alkylene glycol derivative, it is possible to obtain an active energy ray-curable resin composition that satisfies contradictory physical properties. It is something that

Regarding the amount of aqueous solvent used, the total amount of active energy ray-curable emulsion composition should be
The amount is preferably 95% by weight, particularly preferably 10 to 80% by weight, and even more preferably 20 to 60% by weight. If the amount of the aqueous solvent used is too small, the viscosity tends to become too high, and if it is too large, the drying load during coating tends to become large.

The nonvolatile content concentration of the obtained active energy ray-curable emulsion composition is 5 to 80% by weight.
It is preferable from the viewpoint of coating workability, particularly 10 to 70% by weight, more preferably 20 to 60% by weight.
Weight percent is preferred. If the non-volatile content concentration is too low, repellency tends to occur on the substrate during coating and the drying load tends to be large, while if it is too high, fluidity tends to be low and coating becomes difficult.

As is clear from Tables 3 and 4 above, active energy ray curing of Examples 1 to 11 containing the neutralized product of the urethane acrylate compound (A) obtained by reacting the components (a1) to (a4) The type emulsion composition has excellent appearance and stability as an aqueous dispersion, and furthermore,
The cured coating film also had excellent pencil hardness and scratch resistance.
On the other hand, the active energy ray-curable emulsion composition of Comparative Example 1 contains a urethane acrylate compound (A'-1) obtained by reacting components (a2) to (a4) without using component (a1). was excellent in the appearance and stability of the aqueous dispersion and in the scratch resistance of the cured coating, but the pencil hardness of the cured coating was poor.
Comparative Example 2, which also does not use component (a1) but contains a urethane acrylate compound (A'-2) obtained by reacting components (a2) to (a4), cannot be dispersed in water. No cured coating film was obtained.
In addition, the active energy ray-curable emulsion composition of Comparative Example 3 contains a urethane acrylate compound (A'-3) obtained by reacting components (a1) to (a3) without using component (a4). could not be dispersed in water and no cured coating was obtained.
