Description

The present invention relates to a textile towel. More specifically, the present invention relates to a towel whose useful life can be determined.

Conventionally, towel fabrics have basically been made into pile fabrics using warp pile yarns, warp yarns, and weft yarns. This towel is water-absorbent, has a soft texture, is bulky, and has a good color tone, but after repeated washing and its useful life has passed, the texture becomes hard, the fluff falls off, the threads become thin, and the bulkiness increases. The color tone decreases and the color tone becomes darker and lighter. However, such changes occur continuously on a daily basis, making it difficult for consumers to properly judge the useful life of towels.
Patent Document 1 proposes reducing color change by subjecting denim fabric dyed with a dye containing an indigo dye to a crosslinking treatment. Patent Document 2 proposes displaying a barcode on the back side of a transparent plastic film by printing or the like, and providing an adhesive layer on the backing layer and attaching it to a fiber fabric to protect the barcode.

Utility model registration No. 3112491

However, the proposals in each of the above-mentioned patent documents are to prevent color changes in dyed products or to protect printed areas, and there is a problem in that it is difficult to appropriately judge the service life of towels.

In order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, the present invention provides a towel that allows the useful life of the towel to be appropriately determined.

The present invention is a towel to which a mark fabric with a mark is attached, and by repeated washing, the mark disappears or the mark appears, and the service life can be determined.

The towel of the present invention is a towel to which a marked fabric is attached, and by repeated washing, the mark disappears or the mark appears, and the user can confirm that the useful life has passed properly. It can be determined whether or not.

We conducted a questionnaire survey to find out how towel users (consumers) decide when to buy or replace towels, and the results shown in the graph of FIG. 16 were obtained. The survey period was from June 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021, and the survey subjects were 500 men and women between the ages of 18 and 69. As a result, it was found that texture, change in color, and inability to remove odors ranked high, and that there were various causes such as fraying and tearing of threads. It was also found that it is not easy for towel users (consumers) to judge when it is time to buy or replace towels.
Therefore, the inventor of the present invention came up with the idea of creating a service life determination mark that allows the user to easily determine whether or not the service life has properly elapsed, resulting in the present invention.

The towel of the present invention has a mark fabric attached thereto. Here, the mark material is a material attached to the towel by sewing, similar to name material, quality display material, origin display material, and the like. The mark fabric may be attached alone, or may be used together with name fabric, quality display fabric, origin display fabric, etc. Base fabrics mainly used for labels include polyester taffeta, nylon taffeta, acetate fabric, and cotton fabric, with or without coating on the surface.

When the towel of the present invention is attached with a marked cloth and washed repeatedly, the mark disappears or the mark appears, and the service life can be determined. The term "the mark disappears" means that, for example, a colored mark disappears after repeated washing. The appearance of the mark means, for example, that the surface of the colored mark is covered with a film, and by repeated washing, the film falls off and the colored mark appears. Preferably, the mark is a character and/or a colored part.

The colored portion is formed by printing at least two types of ink, an ink with high washing fastness and an ink with low washing fastness, and the colored portion formed with the ink with low washing fastness changes color with washing. It may be possible to discolor, decolor, or discolor, so that the colored portion formed with the ink having high washing fastness can be observed. The above-mentioned discoloration, discoloration, decolorization, and discoloration are not strictly defined, and it is sufficient to determine whether or not the service life has elapsed. The colored portion may be chromatic (color) or achromatic (white, gray, black). In the case of chromatic colors, gray, and black, judgment can be made by discoloration, fading, bleaching, or color fading, and in the case of white, judgment can be made by color fading. In this specification, "high washing fastness" means that it has washing resistance for 50 to 300 home washes, and "low washing fastness" means that it does not have washing resistance for 50 to 300 home washings. means.

Characters are formed on the colored part formed with the ink having high washing fastness, and a colored part formed with the ink having low washing fastness is laminated on the surface of the text in a state that hides the text. You can.

Characters are formed on the colored part formed with the ink having high washing fastness, and the colored part formed with the ink having low washing fastness is laminated on the surface of the colored part formed with the ink having low washing fastness with the text part outlined in white. Good too.

The colored portion may be formed by ink ribbon thermal transfer and screen printing. In the case of ink ribbon type thermal transfer, thermal transfer ink can be used.

Characters may be printed on the mark fabric, and a covering layer may be present on the surface of the characters to hide the characters, and the covering layer may fall off when washed. Alternatively, a base layer may be formed on the surface of the mark fabric, a colored layer may be formed on the surface, and the colored layer may be removed when washed.

Preferably, the colored portion is formed by dyeing the mark fabric or printing pigment ink on the mark fabric. For dyeing, use dyes that do not have high color fastness. Examples of such dyes include vegetable dyes made from plants.

In the case of printing with pigment ink, it is preferable to print the pigment ink on the surface of a film (base layer) in which the mark fabric is coated with a mixture of resin and particles. The film that coats the mark fabric with a mixture of resin and particles tends to come off when washed. Preferred resins include nylon resin, urethane resin, and acrylic resin. Preferable particles include calcium carbonate, talc, silica, clay, mica, kaolin, mica, diatomaceous earth, aluminum silicate, aluminum hydroxide, barium sulfate, and the like. The average particle size of the particles is preferably D50 (median diameter) of 0.1 to 100 μm in cumulative particle size distribution on a volume basis when particle size distribution is measured by laser diffraction light scattering method. The ratio of the resin to the particles is preferably 30 to 70% by mass of the resin and 70 to 30% by mass of the particles, when the total dry mass of the resin and particles is 100% by mass. The base layer is preferably applied as a resin dispersion (emulsion) and dried. The thickness of the base layer after drying is preferably 10 to 200 μm.

Characters may be printed on the mark material in advance, and the characters may be revealed by discoloration, fading, bleaching, or discoloration of the colored portion. Alternatively, printed characters and/or printed patterns may be inserted between the mark material and the colored portion. For example, if you include characters such as "expired", "end of life", "time to replace", or "end of life", the characters will be visible due to discoloration, fading, bleaching, or fading of the colored part, indicating that the useful life has passed. I understand that.

It is preferable that the colored portion of the towel changes color, fades, bleaches, or fades after being washed 50 to 300 times at home. The useful life of a typical towel is 50 to 300 home washes. The number of washings varies depending on the type, structure, size, basis weight, loop length, yarn structure, etc. of the towel. The relationship between the number of washings and the service life is examined in advance.

The condition in which the mark disappears or the mark appears occurs when the bulkiness specified in Japanese Industrial Standard JIS L 1096.8.5 is reduced by 15% or more compared to an unwashed product. is preferred. If the bulkiness decreases by 15% or more compared to the unwashed product, the air layer in the yarn will decrease due to the fluffing of the pile of the towel and thinning of the yarn after repeated home washing, and the pile will become thinner. This is almost the same as the state in which the torsion becomes stronger, the elasticity is lost, and the texture becomes harder, and this state can be judged as having reached the end of its useful life. The service life differs depending on the type of towel, but the mark fabric is made with its washing fastness adjusted according to this service life.

The towels of the present invention include bath towels (after-bath towels), bath towels, face towels, towel handkerchiefs (towel chiefs), wet towels, wash towels, hand towels, bath mats, sports towels, beach towels (body towels), and the like. The towel can be applied regardless of whether it is woven or knitted. The following will be explained using an example of a woven bath towel (after-bath towel).

This will be explained below using the drawings. In the following drawings, the same reference numerals indicate the same parts. FIG. 1 is a schematic front view of a towel in one embodiment of the present invention. In this towel 1, both ends 3a and 3b of a towel body 2 are folded back and sewn, and the ends are treated. A mark fabric 4 is attached to one end.

2A is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 4 before washing, and FIG. 2B is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 4 after washing a predetermined number of times. On the surface of the mark fabric body 5 is a base layer 6 coated with a mixture of resin and particles, and on the surface is a colored layer 7 printed with pigment ink. By repeating washing a predetermined number of times, the colored layer 7 falls off and the color fades, resulting in the state shown in FIG. 2B, and the service life can be determined. Here, the predetermined number of times is preferably 50 to 300 times of home washing. The number of washings varies depending on the type, structure, size, basis weight, loop length, yarn structure, etc. of the towel. The relationship between the number of washings and the service life is examined in advance.

FIG. 3A is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 8 before washing according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 3B is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 8 after washing a predetermined number of times. The difference from FIG. 2 is that a character layer 9 is printed below the colored layer 7. By repeating washing, the colored layer 7 and base layer 6 will fall off, and the underlying character layer 9 will appear, allowing the service life to be determined.

FIG. 4A is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 10 before washing according to yet another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4B is a schematic sectional view of the marked fabric 10 after washing a predetermined number of times. A character layer 9 is printed on the surface of the mark fabric body 5, and a coating layer 11 coated with a mixture of resin and particles is laminated on the surface. By repeating washing, the covering layer 11 will fall off and the underlying character layer 9 will appear, allowing the durability period to be determined.

FIG. 5A is a schematic front view of the hard-to-remove ink printed portion of the first layer according to yet another embodiment of the present invention. The first layer is printed with high washing fastness, for example, by ink ribbon type thermal transfer printing. In this example, the text ``End'' is written in dark blue and outlined in white. FIG. 5B shows the printed portion of the second layer of ink that is easy to remove. The second layer is covered uniformly (solidly) by screen printing using a sky blue ink with low washing fastness. FIG. 5C shows a state in which the second layer is printed on the first layer. FIG. 5D shows a state in the middle of washing, and the text "End" appears faint.
(Example 1)
Photographs of unwashed white towels manufactured and sold by the applicant (34 cm x 80 cm, basis weight 331 g/m 2 , product name UL-FT1OW) and the pile portion of the towels after 100 home washings ( (magnification: 50 times) is shown in FIG. 13. Compared to unwashed towels, after 100 home washes, the pile area of the towels has lost fluff and the threads have become thinner. As a result, there are fewer air spaces within the threads, the pile becomes more twisted, loses its elasticity, and has a stiffer texture. In this state, it can be determined that the useful life has passed.
The bulkiness of unwashed towels and towels that had been washed 100 times at home were measured and the results are shown in Table 1 below.

Figure 2023146356000002
Figure 2023146356000002

As is clear from Table 1, the bulkiness reduction rate was 17%, and it can be determined that the useful life has passed.
Next, a mark fabric with a colored mark printed thereon as shown in FIG. 1 was attached to one end of this towel. The main body of the mark fabric is a taffeta fabric using nylon thread, and a base layer is coated on top of this woven fabric. The base layer was prepared by mixing calcium carbonate with an average particle size of 20 μm in a nylon resin emulsion (aqueous dispersion) at a solid content weight ratio of resin:calcium carbonate = 70:30, coating the mixture to a dry thickness of 100 μm, and then drying. Heat set at 120°C. Colored marks shown in FIGS. 2 and 8 were screen printed on the obtained base layer. The colored marks shown in FIG. 8 are yellow, orange, and dark blue from the left.
FIG. 9 shows a front photo of this towel after 10 home washes, FIG. 10 shows a front photo after 20 washes, and FIG. 11 shows a front photo after 100 washes. As is clear from FIG. 11, it can be determined that the service life has elapsed when all three colors or some of the three colors disappear.
