Claims (25)
- 尿路カテーテルであって、
患者の尿道内に挿入されるよう構成され、細長部と、前記細長部の遠位端近傍の先端部と、ユーザが前記カテーテルを把持可能な、前記遠位端から離間した係合部とを有する中空のカテーテル本体であって、前記先端部は前記カテーテルを前記尿道内で操向する目的で偏向可能で前記カテーテルが前記尿道の自然な湾曲に追従することを可能にし、前記先端部は略直線状の状態から、前記細長部が略直線状である時に前記先端部が偏向する偏向状態に移動可能である、中空のカテーテル本体を備え、
前記カテーテル本体は、膀胱から尿を排出するために内部に形成された主経路と、前記主経路から離れて形成され、可撓性を有する操向部材を収容することができる少なくとも1つの追加経路とを備え、前記各追加経路のルーメンは前記遠位端から前記係合部の近傍の位置まで延び、前記操向部材は、前記先端部において前記追加経路内で固着され、前記カテーテルの外でユーザによって係合されて前記先端部を偏向させるよう構成される、尿路カテーテル。 - 前記中空のカテーテル本体は前記先端部で狭くなる、請求項1に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記中空のカテーテル本体の壁厚は前記先端部で減少する、請求項1または2に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記先端部は、前記細長部と前記先端部の交わり部で始まる円弧の周辺で偏向し、前記先端部はその遠位端で略直線状であるように構成される、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記細長部は、前記先端部より硬く、使用中は略直線状態にあるよう構成される、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記先端部の長さは、約2cmから4cmである、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記先端部は、前記細長部の長手方向の軸に合致する平面において偏向するよう構成される、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記先端部は最大90°の角度まで偏向可能である、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記カテーテルの先端は、泌尿器における他所とは対照的に、尿道内で前記カテーテルを操向する目的で偏向可能である、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- それぞれ内部に操向部材が収容され、前記カテーテルの前記先端部の意図しない横方向の偏向を防ぐよう互いに角度をなして離間された第1および第2の追加経路、を備える、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記第1および前記第2の経路は、約40°の角度で互いに離間している、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 可撓性を有する前記先端から離間された可膨張性のバルーンと、
膨張のために流体を前記バルーンに連通するために前記カテーテルの近位端にあるコネクタと前記バルーンとの間に延在するバルーン膨張経路と、をさらに備える、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。 - 前記操向部材はナイロンの紐である、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 尿道内で前記先端部を偏向させるために、ユーザによる係合のために前記操向部材の端に連結された係合部材をさらに備える、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は直立位置に付勢され、前記ユーザの指による動作を容易にする、請求項13に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は、前記操向部材を引っ張ることで前記直立位置に付勢される、請求項14に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は、直立位置で前記カテーテル本体上に載置される形状を有する、請求項13から15のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は、前記カテーテル本体の外面に接する凹状の基部を有する、請求項16に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は、そのまわりを枢動可能な点で前記カテーテル本体の外部に連結された簡易な引き金状のレバーである、請求項16または17に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記係合部材は前記カテーテルから容易に取り外し可能である、請求項1から19のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記カテーテルの前記先端は、膀胱または腎臓のカテーテルに必要なより鋭い円弧というよりも、前記尿道の前記湾曲に基づいて穏やかな円弧で偏向するよう構成される、請求項1から20のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 前記カテーテルおよび任意の付属品は、金属部材から構成されない、請求項1から21のいずれか一項に記載の尿路カテーテル。
- 男性患者の膀胱にカテーテルを挿入する方法であって
請求項1から22のいずれか一項に記載のカテーテルを提供するステップと、
前記カテーテルを患者の尿道に挿入するステップと、
前記カテーテルが前記尿道に挿入されると、前記先端部を上方向に矢状断面に略平行に能動的に偏向させて、前記尿道を通して前記カテーテルを操向するステップとを備え、
前記先端部は偏向後跳ね返って真っすぐになる、男性患者の膀胱にカテーテルを挿入する方法。 - 挿入中に抵抗にあえば前記カテーテルをわずかに後退させ、それから前記カテーテルを尿道内で再度前進させるとき前記先端部を偏向させるステップをさらに備える、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記カテーテルは触感のフィードバックのみを利用して前進させ偏向させる、請求項24に記載の方法。
