Abstract
Description
本出願は、2020年1月27日に出願された米国仮出願第62/966,391号および2019年3月4日に出願された米国仮出願第62/813,483号の優先権の利益を主張し、その開示内容全体を参照により本明細書に援用する。
(技術分野)
金薄膜干渉顔料を様々な度合いに密封し、コーティングされた選択的吸収ナノ粒子による飽和度/強度に応じて異なるレベルの強度を生じさせた。顔料は、Cr/ZnS/Al/ZnS/Crの構造に基づいていた。サンプルAにおいて、金薄膜干渉顔料を、選択的吸収ナノ粒子、すなわち高濃度のシアン顔料の連続コーティングで完全に密封した。サンプルBにおいて、同じ金薄膜干渉顔料を、選択的吸収ナノ粒子、すなわち、同じシアン顔料であるが、コーティング中の選択的吸収ナノ粒子の濃度を低くし、例えば65体積%とした連続コーティングで完全に密封した。サンプルCにおいて、金薄膜干渉顔料を、選択的吸収ナノ粒子、すなわち同じシアン顔料であるが、サンプルAおよびBと比較してより大きな平均粒子径を有する不連続コーティングで部分的に密封した。A、BおよびCの3つのサンプル全ては、緑色を示しているが、様々な強度および彩度を有する。サンプルAは、サンプルBおよびCに比べて高い強度/色飽和度を有する。サンプルBおよびCは、顔料のうちコーティングでフィルタリングされていない領域からも反射光が来ているため、彩度の低い色、すなわち、より淡い色を有した。コーティング中の高濃度の選択的吸収ナノ粒子によって、物品の色の強度が増加した。加えて、コーティングに密封層を追加することによって、物品の色の強度が増加した。
選択的吸収ナノ粒子のコーティングを有する市販の顔料(シアン、マゼンタ、黄、緑)の垂直および高角度(60°)での色を用いて、予想される支配的なスペクトルの色を決定した。しかし、強度、吸収力、ナノ粒子の濃度など、上記で述べたような変数に応じて、コーティングされた薄膜干渉顔料のカラーシフトの軌跡は、変化し得る。さらに、選択的吸収ナノ粒子の光学的特性は、観察される視覚的な色を変更する小さなスペクトル変化を有し得る。例えば、多くのシアン顔料は、可視領域に黄色の成分を生成して発色するバンドテイルを示す。このため、選択的吸収ナノ粒子のスペクトル吸収を利用して、物品(選択的吸収ナノ粒子でコーティングされた薄膜干渉顔料)の最終的なカラートラベルをよりよく予測し得る。

- 薄膜干渉顔料と、

- 前記コーティングは、前記選択的吸収ナノ粒子の一部が着色される複数の選択的吸収ナノ粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記コーティングは、前記選択的吸収ナノ粒子のすべてが同じ色である複数の選択的吸収ナノ粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記コーティングは、異なる色の複数の選択的吸収ナノ粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記コーティングは、互いに異なる複数の選択的吸収ナノ粒子を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記コーティングは、連続する、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記選択的吸収ナノ粒子のコーティングは、不連続である、請求項1に記載の物品。
