Claims (6)
- ペン先の近傍に配置されるペン先電極、及び、前記ペン先電極に接続されたペン集積回路を含むスタイラスと、
操作面に配置されたセンサ電極群に接続されたセンサコントローラと、
前記センサコントローラに接続されたホストプロセッサと、
を含むシステムで実行されるデータ通信方法であって、
前記ホストプロセッサが、前記スタイラスに記憶されるファームウェアの更新の指示を受け付けるためのユーザインターフェイスにおけるユーザの指示に応じて、前記センサコントローラ及び前記センサ電極群を介し、更新用のファームウェアを前記スタイラスに送信し、
前記スタイラスが、受信した前記更新用のファームウェアにより、記憶しているファームウェアを更新する、
データ通信方法。 - 前記スタイラスは、前記ペン先電極と前記センサ電極群の間の静電結合を介して、記憶しているファームウェアのバージョンを示すペン動作状態情報を含むペン信号の電界による送信を実行し、
前記センサコントローラは、前記センサ電極群を介して前記ペン信号を検出したことに応じて、該ペン信号に含まれる前記ペン動作状態情報を前記ホストプロセッサに転送し、
前記ホストプロセッサは、前記ペン動作状態情報により示される前記バージョンに応じて、前記ユーザインターフェイスを生成する、
請求項1に記載のデータ通信方法。 - 前記ホストプロセッサは、描画アプリケーションの対応する前記スタイラスのファームウェアのバージョンと、前記ペン動作状態情報により示される前記バージョンとが一致しているか否かを判定し、一致していなかった場合に、前記ユーザインターフェイスを生成する、
請求項2に記載のデータ通信方法。 - 前記ホストプロセッサは、前記スタイラスに記憶されるファームウェアのバージョンを要求するためのペン動作状態クエリを発行し、
前記センサコントローラは、前記センサ電極群を介して前記ペン動作状態クエリを前記スタイラスに転送し、
前記スタイラスは、前記センサコントローラから前記ペン動作状態クエリを受信した場合に、前記ペン動作状態情報を取得する、
請求項2又は3に記載のデータ通信方法。 - 前記ホストプロセッサは、ユーザ操作に応じて、前記ペン動作状態クエリを発行する、
請求項4に記載のデータ通信方法。 - 前記センサコントローラは、前記センサ電極群を介して前記ペン信号を検出したことに応じて、前記操作面内における前記スタイラスの位置を前記ホストプロセッサにレポートする、
請求項2に記載のデータ通信方法。
