Abstract
Description
図16は、従来のディーゼルエンジン101の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。従来のディーゼルエンジン101も、図16に示すように、エンジン本体部101aと、フライホイールハウジング105と、冷却ファン107と、排気を浄化する排気後処理装置110と、を備えている点は、本実施形態のディーゼルエンジン1と同様である。
DPF20には、エンジン前後方向前側の端部(前端部20a)(SCR30から遠い方の端部)に、粒子状物質を捕集した後の排気ガスを排出する排気出口22(図12参照)が設けられている。また、SCR30には、エンジン幅方向右側の端部(右端部30a)に排気入口32が設けられている一方、エンジン幅方向左側の端部にテールパイプ60が設けられている。そうして、ディーゼルエンジン1では、DPF20の排気出口22とSCR30の排気入口32とは、図1に示すように、SCRパイプ40にて接続されている。
図5は、ディーゼルエンジン1Bの要部を模式的に示す斜視図であり、図6は、ディーゼルエンジン1Cの要部を模式的に示す斜視図である。なお、ディーゼルエンジン1Bは、ディーゼルエンジン1とほぼ同様であり、また、ディーゼルエンジン1Cは、ディーゼルエンジン1Aとほぼ同様であることから、共通する構成については同じ符号を付している。

Claims (8)
- 排気を浄化する排気後処理装置を備えるディーゼルエンジンであって、
上記排気後処理装置は、排気ガスに含まれる粒子状物質を捕集するDPFと、尿素の添加によって排気ガスに含まれる窒素酸化物を還元するSCRと、を有しており、
上記DPFは、クランク軸と平行な方向であるエンジン前後方向に延びるように配置されている一方、上記SCRは、当該DPFよりもエンジン前後方向一方側で、エンジン前後方向と上下方向とに直交するエンジン幅方向に延びるように配置されていることを特徴とするディーゼルエンジン。 - 上記請求項1に記載のディーゼルエンジンにおいて、
上記DPFには、エンジン前後方向における上記SCRから遠い方の端部に、粒子状物質を捕集した後の排気ガスを排出する排気出口が設けられており、
上記DPFの上記排気出口と上記SCRの排気入口とを接続するSCRパイプが、エンジン幅方向における中央部に対応する位置で、エンジン前後方向に延びる直線パイプ部を有していることを特徴とするディーゼルエンジン。 - 上記請求項2に記載のディーゼルエンジンにおいて、
