リード及び電極
本明細書中に記載されるリードは、いくつかの手法を用いて、体内の、癌性腫瘍の部位近傍に配置され得る。1つ以上のリードの配置には、経血管配置、皮下腔へのトンネリング、及び/又は外科的配置などの手法を使用することを含み得る。いくつかの実施形態では、1つ以上のリードの配置は、1つ以上の天然身体開口部を通した配置を含み得る。リードは、癌性腫瘍に隣接して又は癌性腫瘍内に配置され得る。いくつかの実施形態では、癌性腫瘍の近くで又は遠くで複数のリードが使用され得る。
治療パラメータ
癌性腫瘍の成功的治療は、電界強度、周波数、細胞の不均一性、細胞の大きさ、癌細胞の種類、腫瘍の大きさ、及び体内の位置を含むいくつかの変数に依存し得る。本明細書中に記載される医療デバイスを使用し、様々な治療パラメータが実施され得る。1つ以上の治療的パラメータセットは医療デバイスのメモリにプログラムされ、図3に示される制御回路306によって実施され得る。例示的な治療的パラメータセットは、以下の概念を実施するものを含み得る:様々な周波数の掃引、1つ以上の周波数の同時スタッキング、1つ以上の周波数の逐次ステッピング、1つ以上の電界の空間的又は時間的送達、様々な電界強度の掃引、有効な回転電界の印加、電圧制御モード又は電流制御モードの調整、1つ以上のデューティサイクルの実施、パルス幅変調、波形形状及び/又はパルス系列の操作、並びに高周波又は高電界強度パルスの時折の使用。
電界発生器
本明細書で具現化される医療デバイスは、癌性腫瘍の治療過程中に使用される治療法及び診断法に特に適した電界発生器を含み得る。いくつかの実施形態では、本明細書での使用に適した電界発生器は、癌性腫瘍の主要治療として指示されることの多い放射線治療の有害な作用にその構成要素が耐えるようにするために放射硬化で処理されたものを含み得る。電界発生器は、上記の図3及び図5を参照して説明したものなどの構成要素を含み得る。
Claims (15)
- がん性腫瘍を治療する方法であって、
患者の体内に1つ又は複数の電極を埋め込むステップと、
がん性腫瘍を通るベクトルに沿って前記患者の体内の組織のインピーダンスを測定するステップと、
前記測定されたインピーダンスに基づき前記患者の前記がん性腫瘍に電界を適用するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記測定されたインピーダンスの変化に基づき、前記患者の前記がん性腫瘍に前記電界を適用するステップを含む、請求項1及び3〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記電極が、電界発生電極とパッシブ電界検知電極とを含む、請求項1〜2及び4〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記がん性腫瘍内に前記パッシブ電界検知電極を埋め込むステップをさらに含む、請求項1〜3及び5〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記送達される電界に応じて前記患者の心拍数の変化をモニタリングするステップと、
前記心拍数の変化が検出された場合、前記電界を調整するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項1〜4及び6〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記電界を調整するステップが、前記送達される電界の強度を所定閾値まで低下させることを含む、請求項1〜5及び7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 温度、血流、血圧、代謝産物濃度及び全身がん性マーカ濃度からなる群から選択された少なくとも1つの特性を測定するステップと、
前記少なくとも1つの特性の変化をモニタリングするステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - がん性腫瘍を治療する方法であって、
患者の体内に1つ又は複数の電極を埋め込むステップと、
がん性腫瘍を通るベクトルに沿って前記患者の体内の組織のインピーダンスを測定するステップと、
前記測定されたインピーダンスに基づき腫瘍の進行を評価するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記測定されたインピーダンスに基づき、前記患者の前記がん性腫瘍に電界を適用するステップをさらに含む、請求項8及び10〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記測定されたインピーダンスが測定された低周波インピーダンスを含む、請求項8〜9及び11〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記低周波が約1Hz〜約10Hzの周波数を含む、請求項8〜10及び12〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記測定されたインピーダンスが測定された高周波インピーダンスを含む、請求項8〜11及び13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記高周波が約100kHz〜約300kHzの周波数を含む、請求項8〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- がん性腫瘍を治療する方法であって、
患者の体内に1つ又は複数の電界発生電極を埋め込むステップと、
前記患者の体内に1つ又は複数の電界検知電極を埋め込むステップと、
前記電界発生電極からがん性腫瘍に電界を送達するステップと、
前記がん性腫瘍において又はその周囲で前記電界検知電極により電界強度を測定するステップと、
前記測定された電界強度に基づき、前記送達される電界を所望の電界強度に調整するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記送達される電界に反応する前記患者の心拍数の変化をモニタリングするステップと、
前記心拍数の変化が検出された場合に前記電界を調整するステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
