無端状に連結されて循環移動する複数の踏段と、該踏段の移動方向に沿い、かつ、利用者が前記踏段への乗降を行う上部乗降床と下部乗降床に渡って配置された欄干構成部材と、該欄干構成部材に案内され前記踏段に同期して移動する無端状の移動手摺とを少なくとも備えた乗客コンベアであって、
前記乗客コンベアの乗降口付近にセンサを設置し、前記センサで、前記乗客コンベアの乗降口で前記乗客コンベアに乗り込む前に立ち止まってしまう前記利用者を検出すると共に、
前記下部乗降床及び/又は前記上部乗降床にマークを設置し、前記センサで検出された前記乗客コンベアの乗降口で乗り込む前に立ち止まってしまう前記利用者が、前記マークに足を乗せることで前記乗客コンベアをより低速にするか、或いは前記乗客コンベアを停止させることを特徴とする乗客コンベア。
